Octavia (Helluva Boss)
Just started watching this show and I love it, like a lot.
It is a pleasant life a bird leads, simple and natural, not knowing it's image ability to fly to be rare and incredible.
When one looks up and sees an avian in flight, does it think of the person looking? Does it think about the nature of the world or others beyond it's knowledge? No, it simply flies, and in it's simple mind, that is all it is, mere flight.
To the terrestrial being, with a large amount being human, flight is a desirable trait, and since the dawn of technology has man tried desperately to reach the skies as birds do.
Not you though, you rarely had time to think of such things.
Just as a bird flew without a second though, you worked without a second thought, worked two jobs to be precise.
Needless to say that your stress was high and your body wrecked with fatigue, you often returned to your apartment and passed out in your bed, as you long since expended your energy for the day and desperately needed more for the next day.
You never thought of freedom from your mundane life, and never expected it to come in a feathered body.
One night, as you slept deeply, dreaming of sports cars and Tyrannosaurs, you were woken by a blue light in your living room.
Believing you had foolishly left the television on, you entered the living room to find a lone woman standing there, a large book in hand.
Though calling her a woman felt odd, as opposed to the standard women you were used too, she appeared to have an avian appearance, with feathers across her body, sharp nails not too distant from talons, and a short beak.
The woman didn't appear pleased, as she mumbled angrily while swiftly flipping through pages of a large book she had.
Before you could process the strange sight in front of you, the woman turned to you and jumped, holding the book she was reading up to her face in an attempt at defense.
Woman: Who are you!? Where am I!?
You: You are in MY house, where I live. Why are you here?
Woman: I...um...it's a bit odd.
You: I figured that.
Woman: To give you the short of it, I'm from Hell.
You: Georgia?
Woman: What? No, actual Hell. The home of the damned And evil, as well as people who park in handicap spots while not actually handicapped.
You: Oh, that is evil...wait...hell?
You're concentration focused on the fact that you're talking to a literal demon.
Woman: Don't be freaked out, it's actually much more accommodating than you think...just not by a lot.
You: Ok...this is a lot to take in. Let's start with names.
You reached your hand out to the woman as a warm gesture.
You: I'm (Y/N).
The woman hesitated for a moment, then reached out to take your hand.
Woman: Octavia.
You caught onto her name, repeating it quickly in your head, the pronunciation giving a gentle feel to your thoughts.
You: Okay, next part, why are you in my apartment?
Octavia lifted up the large book she was reading earlier.
Octavia: I was trying to use my dad's book to sneak out of my home, but I must have used it wrong.
You: Yeah, you are a good bit away from home.
Octavia giggled lightly.
Octavia: It would appear so.
Octavia became silent with thought, running her chin in her fingers.
Octavia: I've never been to earth before, I don't know what to do to get home...
You were not certain of the situation, but you were certain that Octavia was harmless and scared, seeing the worry on her face stirred you to act.
You: You can...stay here if you want.
Octavia: What?
You: I know we just met, but I can't let you wander off without any idea what to do. It'll bother me to my core if I did.
Octavia: You don't have to do that...
You: You're right, I don't, but I will because it's the right thing to do.
Octavia took your hands in hers.
Octavia: Thank you, truly, I will pay you back somehow.
You yawned.
You: Pay me back tomorrow, I gotta go to bed.
Octavia: Really? It's a bit early.
You: I work two jobs, I'm tired from the minute I wake up.
Octavia: That's terrible.
You: It is, but it's the nature of the world.
With that, you crashed back into your bed, leaving Octavia to have your weirdly comfortable couch as her own, complete with a warm blanket.
The next morning you woke to the crisp smell of breakfast, which was odd as you were still in bed.
You then remembered the events of the previous night, and as strange as it all was, it didn't currently compete with bacon and pancakes.
You stepped into your kitchen, just adjacent to your living room, and saw Octavia finishing breakfast for you both while wearing one of your shirts.
The shirt just barely fit Octavia's tall, slightly avian body as she stood at the counter noticing you just as she finished two plates for the both of you.
Octavia: Good morning.
You looked at Octavia, unable to get your mind off of her.
You: It is now...
Octavia: I'm sorry?
You regained your senses just in time to save yourself from awkwardness.
You: The...uh...food. The food looks delicious.
Octavia: Since my parents are constantly fighting, I usually have to make breakfast for myself. I've gotten pretty good at it.
You couldn't agree more as you bit into the soft pancake on your plate.
Octavia: By the way, I have a proposition if your interested.
You: What do you mean?
Octavia: You see, in order to get back home, I'm going to need certain items, items that will be easier found if two people are looking for them.
You: I don't think I'll have the time with work...
Octavia: Which is exactly my offer, you ditch your jobs and help me look for what I need, and in exchange I'll have my dad set you up with some money.
You: Are you sure he'll be okay with paying a human?
Octavia: My dad loves me, annoyingly so, so much so that he'll probably invite you into our household for bringing me home.
You thought for a moment on your choices, you could either help the bird woman from hell in returning home, or you can go back to your two jobs.
Your answer was quick as you didn't need to think it over.
You: I'm in, where do we start.
Octavia hugged you as the fabric of her shirt rubbed against your bare chest.
Octavia: Thank you! This means so much!
And with that, you quit your jobs and set off to help Octavia find the items needed to return home.
You often found yourself in occult stores and back alley shops to find what you needed, and you were down to just one item as winter set in, snow blanketing the city you lived in.
On one particularly quiet, snowy night, you and a disguised Octavia entered a small bookstore, in search of a text that would be the last piece to send Octavia home.
You entered with Octavia, who hid her inhuman features with a scarf and cap, which she took off when out of view of the store owner.
Octavia: Are you sure that this disguise is working?
You: Totally. Besides, the owner of this place is so old that his eyes are pretty much dust.
Octavia giggled and playfully hit you on your arm.
Octavia: You are so mean.
You looked around the shelves looking for the book that Octavia needed, and found one that matched Octavia's description.
you called over Octavia.
You: Is this it?
Octavia examined the book, and a wide smile came across her face.
Octavia: This is it! We found it!
Octavia jumped into your arms, excitement overtaking her.
Octavia: I can finally go home, I never thought I'd be happy to go home.
You thought on the idea of Octavia leaving, and your excitement quickly became somber.
You: So...you're heading home?
Octavia: As soon as possible...
Octavia reached out and took your hand.
Octavia: But not without you.
You: What?
Octavia: You mean a lot to me, and I can't stand the idea of being apart from you.
You: So you want me to go with you?
Octavia: Of course, my parents will love you, and like I said, hell is much better than you think.
You: Just not a lot.
You both laughed.
Octavia went silent for a moment.
Octavia: I...
In a silent moment, Octavia reached down and took your face in her hands, and leaned her face into hers.
That first kiss between you both only lasted a few moments, but to you both it felt like a blissful eternity, you both enveloped each other in your affection.
In a brief second, Octavia opened her eyes slightly, where she captured you in her impassioned eyes.
You were hers, her slave, and she did not hold you in chains, but in a kiss.
You pulled away from each other, cheeks red in the moment.
Octavia: I don't know what that was but...I know I want more of it.
You: But...can you have it with me?
Octavia lifted you up to her eye level.
Octavia: I couldn't have it with anyone else.
You both held each other, knowing that your love for each other was the purest thing to heaven, and the most passionate thing to hell.
