ISABELLE'S POV

"Look what I got!" Vina yelled in excitement running to me and Cat.

"Will you keep your voice down?! People are staring!" Cat said looking at the people who's eyes were on us.

"Who cares? I got a B! I got a B! I got a B! I got a B!" Vina sang and did a little dance in the process, she was talking about the Math test we took last week.

Cat groaned and rolled her eyes. "That's it?"

Vina nodded with a smile and sat down besides me. We were at, it was an ice cream store where we hung out after school.

"What did you get?" Vina asked me, I showed her my script, I got an E minus and I am not proud to say it.

"I knew I'd pass you!"

I frowned. "I can pass you in the next one."

"You can try." There was mockery in her tone so I was offended.

"Do you want to bet?"

Cat gave the both of us a look before Vina replied. "Sure, what's the price?"

"Whoever wins will name a price."

"Deal?"

"Deal."

This was going to be easy, all I had to do was find someone who would tutor me. "Who got the highest in the test?"

I need someone intelligent to do it. That way, I'm sure of winning the deal.

"It's obviously Dean. Always has been and always will be."

I frowned at the mention of Dean's name. I haven't spoken to him for two weeks now and it sucks. Sometimes I look at him and his new seat partner, they look good together.

Despite having a new seat partner that talks to me, I still want Dean.

"Who was the second highest?"

Vina took a sip from her juice before
before replying. "Don't know don't care."

"What's up with you?" I asked Cat, who's been quiet the whole time. Recently, she's been having the same usual frown on her face. The only time her face lightened up was the time I told her Mr. Robin changed my seat partner.

"Nothing..." She forced a smile. "I... I just want to go home."
She stood up and walked away. Okay?

"Dean!" I yelled running to him.
I was on my way home when I spotted Dean's tall figure walking in front of me.

"Dean!"

I yelled still running. "Dean!"

"Are you deaf or what?" I said as soon as I got to him.

He stopped walking and looked at me. "What do you want?" He asked with irritation in his voice but I ignored it and focused on my purpose.

"How are you?"

Dean rolled his eyes and walked away.

"Dean!" I yelled catching up to him.

"I'm trying to start a conversation!"

He kept on walking. "You know... It's been two weeks, right? This is all thanks to Mr. Robin-" I cleared my throat and continued "Do you live around here? I live around here. We moved in last month because our old place was too small. You should see it, maybe we'll go there sometimes. Oh wait, we can't we had a neighbour and he doesn't like me, he says I talk too much. Do I talk too much?" I waited for him to answer but since he didn't I continued talking.

"I heard you were the highest in the Math test, good job! I got an E minus, I suck at Math, I suck at all subjects actually. English is the worse, I told you before, remem-"

Mr. Silent stopped walking. "Would you shut up?! I heard you were this, you used to do this, do you do that do you live blah blah blah blah blah, just shut up!"

I smiled happily, he spoke.

You do know he insulted you right?

Yeah, whatever.

"Your voice is amazing. You know that, right?" I decided to give him a complement to increase his self-esteem.

"What do you want Isabelle?" He sounded tired and we were standing face to face.

"I missed your amazing voice." I said with all honesty and ignored his question in the process.

He gave me a look then frowned afterwards.

"I said what do you want Isabelle?" He said each word with emphasis.

"I-I-I want to be your seat partner again."

Dean rolled hid eyes but this time he did it with a smile and it appeared playful.

"That's it?"

I nodded. "That's it."

"Okay." He started walking away.

I blinked twice. "Okay?" I asked loud enough for him to hear, I'm not sure I heard him correctly.

Dean chuckled and looked back. "Yes Isabelle and besides, I missed your amazing voice too!"
