Personality:

James has managed to be the perfect balance between a sweetheart and a complete ass ever since he was a child. Most of his humor is sarcastic and dark, though puns will never fail to make him laugh, even though he claims to hate them.

His temper often gets the better of him, and leads to him doing incredibly stupid things just to prove a point. James has a hard time apologizing, and he often beats himself up over a lot of the things he says.

James is incredibly stubborn, a trait he seems to have picked up from his adoptive father. Once he makes up his mind about something, it's nearly impossible to change mind. Sometimes that's a good, but it usually isn't.

A rather small apartment in shady part of town.

Backstory:

James doesn't talk much about his life before he was adopted, but when he was ten years old he was taken in by Gordon Bloom, one of the wealthiest men in the country. But James doesn't usually tell people that's who his father is. He can't stand the way people will suck up to him the minute they learn his from a rich family. 

James spent the first few years with his new father and older brother Darren doing his best to behave properly and to be as good as his brother was. As far as athletics went, the boys were on the same level. However, James just couldn't keep up with Darren academically.  Gordon never made a big deal about it, and Darren rarely teased his younger brother, but every time James brought home a bad grade he felt like a complete failure.

When James was thirteen Gordon adopted another boy named Peter, who James quickly became close with. Peter, who was nine at the time of his adoption, wasn't as athletic as his older brothers. But he was incredibly smart, just like Darren. This didn't make James feel any better about his own intelligence, but he couldn't hold it against Peter. The child was easily his favorite member of the family, and James wanted to be a cool older brother to him.

This started James with his stupid stunts. Flips from the roof into the pool, jumping home made, unstable ramps, taking the breaks off his bike, knife throwing... Anything he could think of that a "cool" guy might do. Darren often tried to stop his younger brother from doing these things, actions which James took as offensive. After all, Darren did plenty of dangerous stunts with gymnastics and was praised for it. So why couldn't he do stunts too? This often started fights between the boys, and Gordon agreed with Darren that James shouldn't be so reckless.

Oddly enough, the stunts weren't what ultimately put James in the hospital. When James was fifteen, he'd been walking with some friends. He was getting Peter a present for his upcoming birthday. His father's new girlfriend was about to have a baby as well, so James was thinking about what he should get for his new baby brother as well. It was an understatement to say James was excited.

On his way out of the toy store, James's friend suggested they grab lunch at the nearby McDonald's. Of course James agreed, and they started crossing the street to get there.

That's when James was hit by a speeding car, sending him flying. The teen was rushed to the hospital, his heart stopping twice before they arrived, and three times during surgery.

Luckily, and obviously, James lived. His father and older brother, unfortunately, both became even more protective of him however. James wasn't allowed to do anything even remotely dangerous, and Darren often followed him out of the manor to make sure nothing bad happened to him. Once Issac was born, James felt that he was being babied even more than the actual baby.

He started fighting in school, needing to get his built up frustration out somehow. The fighting went from school to the street. James started coming home late at night, beaten and bruised. But, it did help him get his frustration out. He fought with his father and brother even more now, however. Still, with Peter and now Isaac, James was as sweet and gentle as could be.

At sixteen, James got his own job. He didn't want to rely on on his father for his future, so he didn't take the job at Gordon's company he was offered. He began saving up his money, and moved out shortly after he graduated without telling anyone he was planning to. Darren and his father both continue to try and convince him to come home, but James ignores them. He meets up with Peter and Isaac often though.
