Evitable Fall
Of course, his next attempt is also a tragic fail.
The crazy man is back again.
The said man is sitting on the edge of the bridge, singing a song that Brendon has never heard before.
'Can I die away from you?
What you do, it isn't ordinary too.
There's nothing to do, but lie.
I guess I'll die, guess I'll die
alone-ly guy'
He has a smooth voice that rolls just fine in his ears, even with the strong rain crashing against the pavement of the bridge. It makes Brendon wonder if this man was ever a singer in his career.
"That song is basically you right now." The stranger says with his back facing Brendon. How did he know he was there?
"Well, you're not wrong." He admits.
This man makes Brendon curious. His weird fascination with rain and his terrible timing at this time of the night makes him want to know about him.
"I'm Brendon, by the way."
The other man hums in acknowledgement. "I'm Dallon."
He doesn't know why, but he suddenly lost the mood to just jump off at this bridge. His curiosity for this man--Dallon--overpowers whatever plans he was having.
Brendon sits at the edge of the bridge beside him. If he slips and falls here by accident, then that's not so bad. But he doesn't want to without knowing about this man.
"No plans on jumping tonight?" Dallon asked, his attention turning to him with a smirk.
He shook his head, looking down at the rushing waters beneath him. "Nah. I lost the mood."
"That's good. It's nice to have some company with such a rain, don't you think?"
Having a discussion with a rather crazy man at the edge of a closed off bridge in the middle of the rainy night isn't exactly that bad. He's pretty sure he's gonna get sick after this. Maybe he should bring an umbrella next time.
Before Brendon knows it, the rain stops. And the man stood up from where he sat. And just like the rain, that ceases whatever talk they had.
"Well, there's the stars tonight. I better get going." Dallon says as he shook his head wildly like how a dog makes itself dry.
His name is Dallon Weekes, he's 28 years old who loves the rain and makes music for a living. He has brothers named Jordan and Weston who already have their own families.
Brendon stares off at the taller man, who was waving at him with a good night. He wants to know more about this eccentric man and his simply normal life. He wants to know the man on the bridge.
He wants to know Mr. Rainy Man.
