Working on a relationship is sometimes difficult , sometimes it feels as if it's better to run away from it rather than continuing it ……. But when a person is truely committed in a relationship his or her mind set would most of the time start with the thought of the other persons feelings ……

That is the same thing which Sidharth felt the moment he realised how that other dude has hurt her , to the point that she had stopped living for her ownself …… Well he genuinely never thought that she could have actually lived freely with such an extremely suffocating family on her back but still she has suffered a lot……

He would never say that the things which Shivangi did were less painful and traumatizing than being a laughing stock of the whole campus for years but still somewhere he felt that the girl went through things that no one should have gone through in their entire life …….

Holding her in his embrace while she takes her short afternoon nap made him feel like what if he had met this girl earlier may be these things wouldn't have happened……..

Placing a small peck on her forehead Sidharth picked up his phone and started to type a short message ……

@Sidharth : Raghav I know you are busy with all the upcoming things but I need to talk to you urgently ……. Would it be too much if I visit you tomorrow in your office and discuss few things ….. Well just for safe side you know it's not about me but Shehnaaz …… Also I have already send you all the proves …..

Turning his phone off he closed his eyes after covering both of them with the quilt …..

The next day morning came more sooner than they had anticipated…… Feeling the bright rays of sunlight falling on her face she sat up on the bed rubbing her face lazily ………

Getting out of her comfortable bed she looked at the clock and panicked the very next moment …….

She was late for the day ……. Shehnaaz had less than an hour to get ready, finish all her work and then reach the hospital…..

Rushing towards the washroom she took her fastest shower of her life before dressing up in a Salwar suit…… Finishing her minimal makeup with a little moisturizer , sunscreen lotion  , mascara , Kajal and a nude lipstick she wore her bindi and a pair of earrings……..

Rushing towards his penthouse apartment she dashed inside the dining area …….

Sana : Good morning everyone  ( she greeted everyone wishlist picking up a buttered toast )

Rita Ma : You woke up late beta ….?

Sana  : Yes ma and don't really have time ……

Rita Ma : Then rush …..

Nodding her head she moved towards the kids and gave them a hug …..

Sana : I'm sorry babies but today your mamu will drop you off ……

Riya : Okay Mami……

Shehnaaz ran towards Sidharth who was totally engrossed in his oat meal while all the conversation happened …..

Shehnaaz hugged him and said ….

Sana : Good morning my love …….

Sid: Hmm….

Sana : Are you angry…?

Sana : I'm sorry if I have done something but don't really have the time to decipher what happened now ……. Please drop the kids and I'll be leaving now ……

She placed a kiss on his forehead and rushed towards the main entrace……

About half an hour later she reached the hospital and changed into her scrub and picked up her stethoscope before running towards the children's ward …….

It was around noon when she was little free from the rush of patients entering her cabin for the check ups she got up from her seat and was about to head towards the canteen when the a nurse rushed inside her cabin with a little girl in her arms …….

Nurse: Please doctor help this child ……

Sana : What happened to her …?

Nurse : Burn case doctor ……

Sana : Place her on the examination table and bring a tub filled with ice water …….

She picked up her pager and shouted alerting other's……

Sana : Please get an emergency room ready in the children wing for a 3 year old toddler with heavy burn injury ……. It's needed asap ……

Keeping the pager down on the table she rushed towards the kid and started checking her while cooing her to stop crying although it was really impossible ……

Sana : It's okay baby …… I know it hurts very much…..

Sana : I'm so sorry my love….everthing is going to be fine soon darling ……

Sana : Just listen to me darling …… All the pain will be gone soon…..

A minute later the nurse rushed in with a tub filled with ice cold water …….

Shehnaaz picked the child with carefully not to cause her any more pain and slowly submerged her lower portion into the ice water …….

She tried to keep her in there but because of the electrifying numbing sensation the child felt made her cry out in pain …..

Sana : Check if the emergency room is ready or not …… ( she said looking at the nurse )

She continued to try to cool down the burned potion of the child's body before picking the little girl up in her arms covering her with a cool damped washcloth and running towards the emergency room without waiting for the stretcher to arrive as soon as the officials informed her about it …..

About five hours later the child was shifted to the burn unit while still being under the influence of the anesthetic when Shehnaaz came out of the room …….. She asked the nurse about the legal guardian of the little girl just to find no one present there……

Learning about the careless and taken for granted behavior of the parents she moved towards the reception desk …….

Receptionist  : How can I assist you Dr Gill …..?

Sana : I want some information about one of my patients……

Receptionist  : Sure ma'am ……

Sana : The little girl Ruhi …. What about her parents ….?

Receptionist  : She was brought in by her father but as soon as the nurse took the child and ran towards your cabin he left even after we requested him to stay for the patient……

Sana : Well I needed to know that because it's not a simple case when the kid literally has a 2° burn  please inform the police to come and meet me asap ……( she whispered  )

She walked towards her cabin and sat down with a thud on her chair ……. She covered her face as soon as she realised she couldn't hold her tears further……..

Tears ran down her cheeks thinking about the immense pain and discomfort the child felt after getting burned …….

Picking up her phone and dialled Sidharth's phone number although she was aware that he wouldn't be free now ….

Sana : Hello Sidharth..…. ( her voice quivering while she speaks)

Sid : Baby ….. what happened ….?

Sana : Love ….. I can't  see this inhuman behavior……

Sid : What happened darling …..?

Sana : I can't explain it on phone but just know it's about a little girl who came in today……

Sid : Don't cry darling ….. please don't cry ….. I'll be there to pick you up …… just wait for an hour I'll be there as soon as possible……

Sana : Love I need more than an hour before I hand over the patients to the other doctor..…

Sid : It's okay …… I'll wait for you …..

She ended the call and kept the phone in her pocket before she got up from the chair ……

Shehnaaz went towards the canteen and ordered herself a cup of coffee before leaving from there…….

She was coming back towards her cabin when she saw the police officers walking towards her cabin along with a nurse ……

She walked faster and came in front of them ….

Nurse : Officer this is Dr Gill who has actually asked you to come here……

Sana : Please sir come inside the cabin  …… I need to discuss few things …..

Nurse : Here ma'am these are the reports …….

Sana : Yes come inside……

She went inside inviting the other's before taking her chair ……

Sana : Officer please take a seat ……

The police officers along with the nurse took their seat in her cabin …..

Sana : Sir I don't if I'm right or wrong may be it's just a figment of my imagination but thinking about it is making me terrified ……

Police officer 1 : What happened doctor ….?

Sana : About 1 in the after noon  a little girl was admitted in the hospital as an emergency case due to severe burn injuries ….

Police officer 2 : Okay ….

Sana : Well she was brought here by a man who just left after the girl was brought to me by a nurse  , I came to know about it when I went to inform her parents about her condition but didn't found anyone…..

Police officer 1 : Who told you about the man….?

Sana : I couldn't find her parents  , I even did some announcements but none came to meet me …… I talked to the receptionist and got to know about the man ….. 

Police officer 1: What's the condition of the child…?

Sana : Well it's nerve waking……. She has 2° burn starting from her abdomen till her upper legs ….. It's not the only thing ….. when she was brought there were severe blisters forming on her body and that indicates that the incident took place more than an hour ago from the arrival of the patient …… Secondly there are black and blue marks on her upper body,  Some are new while others are just fading …….

Police officer  2 : It's a case of an abuse ……

Sana : May be or it can be some kind of kidnaping…….

Police officer  1 : Can we see the child and take some pictures …. .

Sana : Yeah sure you can ……

Nurse : Ma'am here are the reports …..

Sana : Officer there are some internal injuries like a broken rib …….

Sana : I suspected abuse and asked the nurse to perform an x ray on her and here's report ……

Police Officer 2 : What's the age of the child …?

Sana : As much as we know and from her appearance she is a 3 year old girl named Ruhi Gupta ……

Police officer 1 : Let's go and meet the girl …..

Shehnaaz moved towards the burn unit with the officers on  her tail …….. Before entering the room they wore mask and gowns to take safety precautions  …….

Nodding her head she walked towards the little girl ……

Sana : Nurse please bring the painkiller medicine i have told you earlier …..

The nurse nodded her head and moved to bring  the medicine she had already recommended for the kid ……

Sana : I'm here ….. don't worry ….. I'll be here when they talk to you……

The nurse brought the medicine vial and syringe to her ……

She got up from her seat and got the syringe ready with the medicine before giving it to her through her saline …….

She came out of the room changed her gown and moved towards her cabin ……

Sana : Well after you left I was talking to the girl and found out a number of things …..

Sana : Well she said that she stays at home alone while her father goes to office …… She gets scolded for switching on the lights and last but not the least while she was asking me about my family I said about the kids in my house when she asked if they like to eat sandwich everyday ……

Sana : I missed you …….  ( she said while all her pent up emotions were bursting out infront of him )

Sid : I missed you too sweetheart ( he said while hugging her tightly )

Sana : Today was really a hard day love ……

Sid : I get it baby …… but why are you crying ……( he said after kissing on the top of her head )

Sana :My heart is aching while answering to the simplest question to the little girl while she has twisted answers in her stock ……

Sid : What happened darling ……? I  really can't make out what you are saying…….

They got in the back of the car and hugged each other sitting there comfortably…..

Sana : A 3 year old girl was admitted today in the afternoon....… She has 2° burn in her lower portion of her body along with black and blue marks on her upper torso ………

Sid: I'm  so sorry that you had to see such a condition of a child darling……

He pulled her towards himself before removing her mask and kissing on her lips ……

Sana : You know she said her father leaves her alone in her home while he goes to office , she's  scolded for switching on the lights and even hates eating sandwich everyday……

A sob left her mouth as soon as she finished the sentence and hid her face on his chest ……..

Sid : I don't know what to say ……

Sana : She doesn't have a mother , her father left just after admitting her in the hospital …..

Sid : That's terrible….

Sana : She is traumatized……. Sejal our psychiatrist went to talk to her but said that she cried the very moment she saw a new face infront of her eyes ……

Sid: She's going through a lot at such a young age ……
