(💛⚾️Jyushimatsu's POV⚾️💛)

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. As I slowly got up and got ready for my job, I saw that my brothers were already at work. I panicked a bit and quickly got out the door so I wouldn't be late.

It's been a while since our parents passed, and a lot of things have happened in the last couple of months. For starters, we all have jobs now. Osomatsu's a worker at a restaurant, Karamatsu got a job as a business man, Choromatsu's also a businessman, Ichimatsu works at the Black Factory, I'm a helper for Dr. Dekapan and Todomatsu's working at a café. Everything's gotten a lot harder for us because we've become 'real' adults now.

We can never seem to get a break because of our jobs, paying bills, taxes, and a lot of other adult things. And since we never get a break, we barely see each other or our friends. I hate that we never see each other anymore. It's not fair.

We can barely keep track of time without looking at a clock or a calendar. My brothers and I are always burnt out at night that we don't even bother going to the bath house. Now that we're living in our parents' shoes, we can only imagine how tired they were with all 6 of us around.

But out of all of my brothers, though, Choromatsu-niisan is the one who's working the most. He always has to work overtime because his coworkers ask him for favors since they were 'going on vacation', or so our vulnerable brother thought. One day, Todomatsu was scrolling through social media until he found a video of Choromatsu's coworkers drinking and partying. I was the only one who was home with Totty, so we couldn't tell Choromatsu-niisan about it. And since  he works overtime, we can never find the right time to talk to him. We also haven't told our other brothers yet because they go to and come to work at different times, so there's also that problem.

The way people have evolved is strange and confusing. Like the we use paper and metal circles as currency, the way we fight over silly things, having complex emotions that can be written or said. It's strange that humans have been evolving for centuries, yet we still have so many problems. Sure, we solved a lot of medical ones, but what about war, poverty, and so many other things that need solving. Oops, did I go off track again? I've been doing that a lot lately.

Anyway, I made my way to Dr. Dekapan's house. I knocked on the door, but there was no response, so I kept knocking.

"Hello? Dr. Dekapan, it's me, Jyushimatsu!" I shouted out.

I heard a couple of footsteps and some things crashing until the door finally opened.

"Dayonnnnn, Jyushimatsu, you're finally here," Dayon said in a relieved tone.

"Heh, sorry for being late," I laughed awkwardly.

Dayon sighed and welcomed me in. My eyes widened as I saw all kinds of chemicals and items on the floor.

"W-what happened?" I asked in a concerned tone.

"Since you weren't here to help Dekapan out with carrying some heavy boxes, he tried to do it on his own, but he dropped them dayon," He explained.

"Oh jeez," I groaned.

Looks like I have a long day ahead of me.

(🩷📱Todomatsu's POV📱🩷)

"Hey, Todomatsu, are you almost done with that latte?" Sacchi asked.

"Yeah, I just need to add the frothed milk," I shouted back.

Today was definitely a lot more busy than any other day. It's probably because it's New Year's, and a lot of people like to have more energy so they don't fall asleep during the countdown and fireworks. So I don't think I'll get a break anytime soon.

"Hey, Totty, I need another caramel macchiato," Aida said while carrying a tray of coffee to the counter.

"Got it," I replied with a smile. I may have looked happy, but in reality, I was stressed, but I took a deep breath and carried on.

After a long while, there weren't many people in the cafe, so the manager gave us a break. I sighed with relief and walked into the break room. I rubbed my hands and stretched since my hands and back were sore from working all day. But I knew that we'd have a lot more work to do.

(TIME SKIP)

"Oh my God, works finally over," I sighed in a relaxed tone.

I said goodbye to Sacchi and Aida as I walked home. 'What a day,' I thought as I scrolled through my phone. There  weren't a lot of things that caught my eye, so I just turned it off and continued walking.

"Hey, Todomatsu," a voice called. It was just my 'friend' Atsushi. Oh, how I hated him, his career, his car, and his wealth.

"Oh, hey Atsushi," I said as calmly as I could.

"So, are you planning to do anything for New Year's?" He asked.

"Eh, not really," I responded dryly. "You?"

"I'm going on my honeymoon with my fiance," He replied with a smile.

'He has a fiance now?!?' I thought.

"Wow, I'm so happy for you," I said as I grinded my teeth.

A buzzing sound came from his pocket.

"Oh, that must be her, sorry Totty, but I gotta go or else she might get worried," He explained.

"Bye, I guess," I responded quietly.

'Jeez, what does that guy NOT have?' I wondered as I walked away. 'At least I don't have work tomorrow,' I thought as I tried to be more positive.

I hope we get a fresh start next year.
