Title : The Resto convo

She gulped down the gulab jamun in shock.

' what did he just say ?'

' parents ? '

OMG!  😳😳😳

' ab baby bolegi toh vo parents bolke bolega hi na  ?? Badi ayi shock khane vali ...... 😏😏' her heart answered

' han han , meri galti hein.... Patah hein '
She said

' ab bhugtoh uska chidhana '  her heart said.

' arey , par mein kya karun excitement mein nikal gaya .... ' she cutely replied

' koi nai ... Hota hein ..... Par khayal bura nai hein pallu 😉😉 '  her heart teased

' ab tum bhi shuru hogaye .... Hey bhagwan !  Chup ho jao tum '  she said, silencing it

' chal nikalti hun .... Tum apne Rao ko ghoorna continue karo 😉😉.... Tata 😁 '  saying so her heart bid a bye.

"OOO ! SAREE KA DUKAAN !  Kahan khoya hein tum ? " Asked Rao by clicking a finger in front of her.

She came back to reality. She saw him smirking and played along.

" bas gulab jamun ki taste mein doobi thi " she said casually not wanting to show her shock anymore.

" Achha.... Mujhe toh laga ki  hamare 'baby'  ke khayalon mein khoyi hein " he said slightly winking at her.

At a moment she blushed thinking of how badly he was teasing her. But she composed herself and replied ,

" Mujhe laga ki tum aise hi ek sapne mein khoye hue ho .... Khayal kya hein apka janaab ?" in a teasing way.

Rao who was drinking water choked.

" Eyy ! Em matladutunav ? " ( What are you speaking ?)  Rao said

" Huh !? " She asked in a  confused manner

" Mere matlab hein kya baat kar rahi ho ? " He explained

" Bas wahi jo tum mujhe yaad dila rahe theiy " she said slightly winking

" Achha ab bas bhi karo SAREE KA DUKAAN....... Ye baby ka kya chakkar hein ?" Rao asked.

" Teekh hein, teekh hein , batati hun par yaad karne ki koshish karo humne saath mein kya kiya tha ?" She said

" Ab tak toh kuch bhi nahi kiya ..... Future ka patah nai 😉😉 " he said teasing her more.

" Rao ! " She grunted as if warning him of not dragging this tease game

" Achha achha ruko .... Sochta hun ..... mmmm  ...." He starts thinking

" 2 weeks pehle ek Collab tha jo tum design karne vali thi - magar uske liye ek aur hafta lagega ...... Ummmmm....... Aur haan tumhare baba ke doston ka reunion ke liye handloom shirts design karne wali thi na .... Rainbow colours ka kuch bataya tha tumne.... Magar vo toh agle mahina hein ...... Ummm..... Zaroor saree ka assistant ne koi naya idea kahan hoga sales ke liye ? Vo purple shade wala idea bhi toh kitna hit hua tha..... Par usmein bhi mera haath tha kahin na kahin....  Hein na ? ..... Magar usmein utna dimaag bhi hein kya ??? ...... Ummmm....."

Pallavi was surprised how he remembered all  the details of what she spoke at their previous meetings. He remembered all small details including the deadlines. She felt happy at his keen observation. He was truly a person whom she can rely on, for anything and everything. A true friend.

She was adoring Rao and his antics while he was trying to recollect all details.

' haye Mera cutie Rao ! ' 😍😍 her heart said

' hein na ? ' she said absent-mindedly

' dekha.... Tum bhi agree kar rahi ho ' 😉🤭 her heart said

' tum fir agaye .... Please jao ... Faltu ka time nai hein mere paas '  she said 🙄🙄

"..... Ummm ..... Yaad nai aa raha hein saree ka dukaan..." Rao told her cutely.

" ..... Arey ! Rao tum bhool kaise gaye .....  Mr. Mehta ka contract ...." She said

" Arey haan ...... Mr Mehta ka deal ..... Dimaag se hi nikal gaya ..... Contract approval hogaya kya ??? " He asked excitingly.

She nodded her head and said , " haan Rao!"

" Oh great ! God bless us ! This is such a great news SAREE KA DUKAAN " he said beaming with happiness.

" Congratulations !! " She said putting a gulaab jamun into his mouth

" Um..... T..a...nnn...k....uuu..... " He said with jamun filled mouth. 😜😜

She laughed at his words. He gulped down and put a jamun in her mouth too.

" Congratulations to us, SAREE KA DUKAAN"
He said smiling at her jamun filled mouth

They both were happy with the good news.

" Ek min ek min ..... Vo toh offical baat thi na .....  saree ka dukaan ...." He said dragging his last words.

It strikes to her that she just broke one of their rules. Extended one though !

None of the business issues or dealings of office should enter their conversation

She recalls it and feels guilty.

" Abhi kuch der pehle koi mujhe bol raha tha rule todne ke baare mein " 😏😏 he said cutely faking his anger by folding  his hands against his chest.

She mouthes a sorry to Rao by holding her ear with her left hand and says , " par khush khabri thi Rao aur tumhe patah hein ki mere peth mein achhi baat zyaada der rukta nai hein..... Aur  isko sunane ke liye kitna wait karri thi mein, patah hein tumhe ... Kuch toh samjha karo "

" Achha teekh hein baba ...... Chalo jaane do uss baat ko aur batao apna week review " he said smiling at her

" Ab aye ho na point pe ..... Toh ye hua ki.... And she started blaberring all the stuff infront of Rao to which he was responding with much attention and care

She was his escape from the racing world

He adored her all along and when the waiter served them their order she continued her 'badhbadh' even during having their lunch.....

' uff! Kitna bolti hein ye, Rao ' his brain said

' haan naa..... Bohot ' he said

' tum mere saree ka dukaan aise nai bol sakte Rao ' his heart said as if hurt

' arey mere dil ! Tum bura mat mano .... Mujhe uski badh badh pasand hein '  he said.

' now that's like my boy ! ' his heart chirped

' 3 pagal ke beech mera hi nuksaan hein '  his brain said.

' 3 pagal ?'  he and his heart asked

' ek vo,  jo tumhare saamne hein , ek khud tum aur ek vo tumhara dil '  his brain answered explaining about them

' ey ! Kya bola re ! ' his heart retorted

' jo tumne abhi abhi suna !! ' his brain said

' arey shaant ho jao ! Aur tum , tumne aisa kyun kahan ?'  Rao asked his brain

' kyunki mujhe hi saara data record karna padega na tumhari saree ka dukaan ka, uski badh badh ka ..... '  his brain said irritated

' haha ! Good one mate ! '  😂 his heart said

" Shukriya ! Rao ka dil ' 🙈 his brain said

' hayee kirti , kitna cute hein dono ' said Farhad beaming with happiness while listening to them.

' haan hein toh ..... Par tum kyun itna blush kar rahe ho teenage fan girl ki tarah....?" Kirti said in her usual tone

" uff kirti ! Kabhi toh situation ka mazaa lene do mujhe ! " Farhad said irritated by her words

" Whatever !" She said biting her sandwiches

" Tumhe toh sirf khane ki padi hein , meri feelings ki nai  " he said

This irritated kirti. How can he say like that?

" Agar tumhari feelings ki parwah nai karti toh tumhe idhar kyun bulati mein ? Bolo ! " She said in stern voice still munching the potato chips

He realised what he said. She is angry now

" Arey ! Sorry na angry bird .... Mera vo irada nai tha .... Bas ...." Farhad said cutely

Kirti so wanted to adore him for being cute but she remained her usual self and answer,

" Ek toh bhooki thi mein aur upar se classes, lunch break mein Sunita ne project work pe mujhe leke gayi ...... Uss hod ne dam karke rakha tha approval nai dera tha. Mushkil se college se bahar nikli aur fir ye dono dikhe....  aur tumhe inform kari aur tum ho ke mere khane par comment karre ho " she said in one go.

" Ya allah ! Saans toh lo pehle ..... Aur mein ne kitni baar bola hein khana skip mat karo aur amma ko bhi pareshaan karti ho khane ke mamle mein .... Sirf sandwich se kaise kaam chalega ruko ek min ....... Waiter .."

The waiter came in , " yes sir !"

Farhad said  , " one butter khichdi please !"

" Butter wala bilkul bhi nai .... Mein moti ho jaungi .... Normal teekh hein Farhad " she said in a tired tone

" Koi moti voti nai hogi .... Chidiya jitna hi toh khati ho aur upar se diet .....  No bahana ..... Waiter just bring it " Farhad ordered in a strict voice

" Kya matlab hein mera kuch bolne ka " kirti  said in her usual tone

" Ghee , makhan khane se sehet banti hein bigadti nahi.... Samjhi zyada natak nakko karo aur chup chap khao " Farhad explained to her softly

'tu sunti rahe mein kahaniyon sa kehta raho 🎶🎶' her heart sang

' ye toh paniyon sa gaane ke lyrics hein ' kirti thought

' haan toh ?' her heart  asked

' toh vo line ladka gaata hein na .... Tu kyun gaari hein ...... ' she said finding some logic

' toh fir tu ladkon jaise hi behave karti hein na hamesha ...'   😏😏😏 her heart said

' huh ? Kya bol rahi hein ? '  she asked

' lyrics ki feel vahi hein bas fark itna hein ki ladka gaata hein uss gane ko aur yahan mein gaa rahi hun coz tum dono mein tum ladki kam aur ladkon jaise bartaav zyada karti ho ' her heart spoke explaining her the logic

' argh ! Tum aur tumhari baatein ..... Nonsensical ! '  she said.

" Kirti ! Kirti ! " Farhad called her out bringing her back to reality.

" haan haan ! Farhad ! Kya hein ?" She said irritated by heart's reasoning before.

" Tum teekh ho ? Tumhe koi bimari hein kya " he said leaning forward touching her forehead as if checking her temperature.

She was taken aback by his gesture but did not show up. She pushed his hand away and said ,

" Mein teekh hun Farhad ! Mujhe kya hona hein ...... " Frowning at him

" Nai ..... Tum achanak kahin kho jati ho na isi liye pucha... Kahin pagal panti ke dohre toh nai padre hein na ?  " Farhad said controlling his laughter

" Ye bandar kahin ka .... Tu chup reh ! Mera already kharab mood ko aur mat kharab kar " she said grunting angrily

" Uff ! Gussa mat ho angry bird .... Lo khana khao " he said when the waiter brought in the butter filled khichdi bowl

The smell enticed her nose and increased her hunger . As soon as the waiter placed the bowl infront of her , she grabbed the spoon and started eating.

Farhad smiled at her antics. She was immersed in eating relishing the food.

The waiter asked , " sir ! What should I bring for you ?"

" Umm nothing .... Bring just two large glasses of lassi for my woman " Farhad said.

" Sure sir !" Said the waiter leaving them.

" Bas karo saree ka dukaan, khana bhi toh khao. Bolte bolte thak nai jaogi aur fir khana ko ignore karogi ..... Dekho toh pulav kitni achhi bani hein" Rao said

" Teekh hein teekh hein ! Kha rahi hun mein" said pallu

" Mein abhi ata hun " said Rao standing up from his chair.

" Kahan ja rahe ho ?" asked pallu 

" Kya ek admi ko washroom jane ke liye bhi permission lena parega kya ?" Rao told her throwing his hands up in air 🤷🏻‍♂️

" Eeeeeeee.......  Ayi deva ! aise nai hein Rao !  bas ye darr hein ki mein apni baton ko bhool na jaun " she innocently replied

" Baaton ke liye saari umar padi hein saree ka dukaan .... Now if you let me , can I ?" Said Rao in a casual way

" jao jao !" She said slightly smiling at his words

Kirti was about to finish her  food when she saw her brother coming towards them

" Oh no ! " She said

" Ab kya hua ? " Asked Farhad

K : " Anna yahi par aa raha hein Farhad !"

F : "kya ?" He asked in horror.

        " Ab kya karenge ...... Oh no ! Anna dekh lenge toh hazaar sawal karenge ...mein kya karun ? Nai nai ye nai ho sakta .... Kirti ?"

He turned to see that kirti was not there. He was more scared now.

" Oh no ! Kirti kahan ho tum ..... Mujhe yaha akela situation mein phasa ke " he said

Shuk shuk !

He heard some voice . He saw here and there but couldn't find anything

Shuk shuk !

He heard it again.  But couldn't find the owner of the voice

Farhad ....... Whispered someone

Now he was curious who was calling him by his name

He felt a tug at his pants

He looked down and was shocked to see kirti there. She was the one who was whispering since then

Kirti ?

Ya allah !

Pagal ladki .... Kuch  bhi kar deti hein

Aise kaun chupta hein ?

Vo bhi table ke neeche ?

Vaise chuhiya ( rat ) lag rahi hein  🤭

While Farhad was busy staring kirti in shock , Raghav  was walking towards them.

Kirti was shocked to see that raghav was approaching and she pulled Farhad down, under the table. In such a swift motion she pulled that he banged his head to the table.

" What the hell kirti ? " He blurted out rubbing his fingers against his head.

" Shhhh....... Chup raho .... Anna hein yahannnn.... " And pulled him close so that they were facing each other.

" Anna ..... " Farhad said only to be pulled by kriti still closer landing him in a position where it seemed that they were hugging each other.

" Chup raho Farhad ! Please! " She said peeping through his shoulder to confirm if Raghav has passed by.

Adding to her anxiousness, a waiter stopped him just near kirti's table asking him about further order. Kirti was cursing that waiter whereas Farhad was too much affected by their proximity.

He held her close in a involuntary reaction to the pull she managed to do, moments ago.

He was in trance. So lost in the moment.

He felt hot breath near his shoulder and neck. He looked aside to see the relaxation on kirti's face.

" Huffffff !!" Sighed kirti

" Bach gaye yaar!" She said  and looked at him only to find him staring at her. She realised their positions and left him.

She pulled herself up and sat back on the chair. Farhad smiled to himself and returned to his seat.

" chalo Farhad nikalte hein ....." She said moving in hurry

"Arey par lassi is on the way ......" He said catching hold of her hand in an attempt to stop her .

" Sachhiii.....?" 😍 She said feeling happy.

" Haan !" He replied

" Ummm..... Naiii , nahi pee sakti usse ab kyunki anna aa jayenge " she said half-heartedly.

" Vo toh hein...Par mein already order de chuka hun isi liye usse pack karwayenge ..... Teekh hein ?" He said giving her an idea.

" Great then chalo ...... " She says moving from the table

" Tum jao gaadi nikalo mein bill pay karke aat hun ...." Farhad said moving towards counter

" Ruko Farhad! Card toh lete jao mera !" She said to which Farhad replied , " arey aaj mere taraf se treat hein ye tumhare liya mujhe itni achhi khabar dene ke liye "

" Itna chota treat nai chalega Farhad ! Bohot badi khabar diya hein mein ne.... so technically ye treat nai hein .... Chup chap card lo mera aur tumhare gaadi ka chaabi do , parking se nikaalungi " she said sternly

" Teekh hein angry bird, ye lo " said Farhad handing her the keys and took her card. 

Farhad always believed that woman should be financially independent and that thought he acquired from his Anna.

Kirti was truly blessed coz she was properly tamed by this duo. They gave her wings to fly but in a proper direction - in correct way.

Rao managed to be back soon as he knew he had lot more to hear from his saree ka dukaan 😂😂 and when he returned he was shocked. She, not only finished her plate but ordered another one which was now on the verge of completion.

' god ! This woman ! Itna bhook hein fir bhi bak bak mein bhool jaati hein '

" Rao ! Tum aagaye ..... Sach mein pulav achhi hein ...... Vaise tum bhi khao ek aur plate mein mangati hun kyunki Aaj ka treat meri taraf se, teekh hein ??" She said

" Aisa kyun ?" He said settling himself in the chair opposite to her

" Kyunki mein khush hun !" She chirped in

" Vo toh teekh hein par kyun ?" He asked

" Vaise toh khush hone ke liye reason ki zaroorat nai hein ..... Par aaj meri khushi ke do reasons hein so " she said

" Achha ...... Bolo mujhe vo kya do reasons hein ?" He enquired

" Ek toh deal final hui hein , approval bhi mil gaya hein ..... Hum tumhare bachhon ko .... Mera matlab hein Ananth ashram ke bachhon ka madad kar sakte hein iss deal se so mein bohot khush hun" she said

"  Haannn mein bhi khush hun uske liye aur dusra reason kya hein ? " He asked

" Vo .... Vo ...... Vo ...... Tum........" she dragged her words by playing with her spoon

" Haaan saree ka dukaan ..... Mein kya ?" He asked not holding his curiosity anymore

" Aaj  tum casuals mein aye na toh I'm impressed. So ek aur reason hein meri khushi ka " she spoke in one go.

" Achaaaaaa........" He said teasing her

" Ab tumne itni mehnat ki hein toh treat toh banta hein...... Ab zyada natak nakko karo aur bolo kya mangwa unn tumhare liye  " she said

" Teekh hein mujhe mango ice cream chahiye...... " He said beaming like a child

She adored the spark in his eyes while he continued ,

"Patah hein  saree ka dukaan mei  aur Kirti amma se lad lad ke mango ice cream banwa kar khate theiy ..... Amma bohot achha mango ice cream banati hein ..... Kabhi mein amma se keh kar banwa kar tumhe khilaunga .... Amma na zaroor ......" he stopped mid-way thinking of his current relationship with his mom.

Her smile faded away as his smile faded away too. She tried to change the mood

" Mujhe nai patah tha ki ghamandi rao itni pasand hein mango ice cream .... Chalo toh aaj do scoops extra for my ghamandi Rao " she said trying to lighten the mood

" Zaroor saree ka dukaan .... I would love to have it " he said adoring her attempts to make him come out of his bad mood.

They were having ice-cream and a pair of eyes were watching them carefully

' toh yahan ati hein pallu har budhwaar ko ' the person said
