I glance at my target on the bed. I'm to eliminate the Empress and report back.
I hate doing this, but it's my job. It's the last time she'll ever be alive. I take out a string laced with poison and stride towards her. The moment I touch the bed cover I feel a knife at my throat.

She snarled through gritted teeth and asked who sent me. I shake my head and wink. "No can do. Private details" She sighed and spoke up. "It seems you still don't understand what position you are-" she gasps upon realizing her knife is gone and in my hand. She took a step back. "Who sent you?!" I just stare and don't say anything. I grasp a lock of her hair and kiss it. She looks at me with disgust. I chuckle and mock being hurt.

She yelled and lunged at me, but I was faster. I kept dodging her furious attacks. She gets tired fast and stops. "Tell you what" I beckoned her to go on. She continues, ignoring me. "Tell your master that he doesn't need to have me assassinated to get money, reputation, trade and connections" "I can give him that while I am alive" "He needs to think carefully, if he wants to stay alive and not make the whole empire his enemy"

I nod shocked at how smart and strong she is. "Say," I whisper as I leaned against the wall. "How about I become your Emperor?" She laughs and pokes her finger at my chest. "Don't push it cutie" "If you want to have any hope regarding that, you'll have to stop trying to assassinate me and slowly get to know me better" "Take it or leave it!" I laugh again.

"Deal!" I say as I hopped onto the window sil. She walked over and kissed me on the lips then added. "I'm going to have to increase security after your little stunt today"
