After a year ,

A- Om , get up please ! Are you coming with me or not ?

Gripping the comb in one hand, she threw the pillow on him using the other. The pillow flew to hit his back in force. He cringed before opening his eyes .

Om - what's your problem ?

A- it's the alumni meet today .

Om - so ?

A- today I'm gonna receive an award  Om .

She emphasized while gathering her hair high up to tie a pony , and concentrated on the mirror . Om just sighed rolling his eyes .

Om - which great mountain did you break for you're getting an award haan ? Boring chemistry , boring lessons .

Soon came another pillow , landing on his face this time.

A- such a mean creature you are  ! You just don't come only .

Annika scowled at him and twisted her mouth while Om showed a sheepish smile and caught her hand immediately.

Om - hey hey angryka, don't become a Godzilla now . I'll come , let me see what legendary award you're being honoured with . I'll be ready in 20 minutes , please have my breakfast done ok. It's your shift today .

A- very well , I remember. For your kind information , I've already cooked . Just go get ready first .

Om - thank god ! you had shivaay in your life to bring you some least knowledge about cooking.

Showing a surprised smile , he commented while making his way to the restroom. And here , annika stopped fixing the band when she heard shivaay's name .

' will you be my girlfriend?'

' If even then , you want us , I, I'll '

All those scenes from the past flashed in her mind instantly . She kept staring at her image but her sole thoughts were lost somewhere else.

To be honest , this one year was different for her . A bond built within  hardly 5 months was so strong enough to fill her heart with such good memories of him , that she hadn't ever spent a day in this one year gap without thinking of him . To be honest, she really missed him .

A- will I see him today ?

She quizzed to her own image on the mirror.

A- ofcourse , he will come .

A- and what about ...he ,

Om - with whom are you speaking nika?

Annika shook herself a little and resumed combing when she heard his voice from inside the washroom .

A- nothing Om .

Om - what are you staring at ? Come

A- you carry on , I'll come . Grab a seat in the 2nd row ok ? Don't sit somewhere in the next planet and dare you fail to focus on pictures when I'm being  awarded ! Then

Om- whoa whoa ! I'll try my best and borrow one Dslr to click when you're given the Oscar , done ?

She glared when he passed his sarcastic smile . After that, he  went inside the campus . She then wandered her eyes to seek the security who was standing at the corner .

A- baiya , baiya why these vehicles are parked like this ? It'll be a trouble when the crowd arrives . Please do the necessary immediately baiya.

' ok mam '

A- and , we might expect more vehicles today so ask them to use the nearby plot ground for parking.

' ground...?'

A- the principal had already spoken to the owner , so no problem .

Annika walked away , mentioning everything with her eyes still pasted on the man who acknowledged with a nod .

And , thud .

She bumped with someone infront , just at a spot between two cars.

A- I'm sorry , so sorry.

Picking her bag and stuffs from the ground , she looked up to soon get surprised . Her eyes bloomed with joy .

He.

A tight black shirt hugged his body to transparent the fit him . Handsome man , he looked . Not that he was any less good looking before , but the manly attitude in him was even more emphasized now . She didn't realize, but for a second,  she was actually swept off her feet from within.

Removing his shades , he watched her with the same excitement as her's in his eyes .

One year later , here they are to meet each other at the same place under the same circumstances as before .

Both kept watching each other with a constant smile on their faces , a few moments passed in silence .

A - finally ! ! Shi

Her words halted slowly as her eyes met someone else who just came out from his car and stood beside him , clutching his hand in firm . A young lady it was .
Soon , she heard his voice.

S- I was so excited to meet you . And see what just happened ?! The same bang saga continues, you never change , do you ! Don't worry, I'm not like you , I won't scold , " have you got anything called eyes? , check your eyes with a doctor!"

Annika chuckled when he started imitating her while the lady looked at both confusedly.

A- happens with me quite everytime , by the way how are you ?

S- I'm cool as always . Oops! forgot to make the introductions , she is Mallika , my girlfriend. And Mallika, this is annika , my favourite lecturer.

A- oh hi Mallika !!

Mallika - hello , nice to meet you . Shivaay has talked so much about you .

She spoke leaning her elbow on his shoulder while he remained quite , presenting a good smile of his .

A- I'm sure he would have , don't worry even I've got some interesting tales about him .

S - well , annika has proved that she's a true honest lecturer. As if we've come for some PTM , baby what's this ?

He pretended to whine , watching which both the girls just laughed .

M - don't try to divert me baby , that ain't gonna work . Come annika ,

Shivaay sighed deeply and followed Mallika who has teamed up with his favourite professor now .

' The next award is one special award, for the one and only special person! Any number of lecturers might come and go in our life , but this person always will remain to be everyone's favourite. This award is actually new to the category , we don't present it every year. We students had exclusively taken effort to honour this special person. I would take this opportunity to thank the principal for supporting our idea . So now , I call upon our respected correspondent to do the honours '

The correspondent came to the stage with a medium sized trophy - an award . He opened the card and read the name , a good smile captured his lips instantly.

' I know this person for years and I'm so glad to present this award . It says, Ms . Annika , A dream lecturer '

The very second, a big round of applause was heard around the auditorium ,some students even started shouting and hooting for her .

With a beaming smile  surrounded on her face, she walked to the stage and received the award . She was then given a mic to speak.

A- well , this santhosh has really flattered me with butter  words today . I don't know what's cooking in his mind, strategy for extra marks santhosh?

Passing a playful smile , she questioned santhosh who was playing the host today .

' come on mam, you're our special, favourite and now a dream lecturer! You deserve that '

He replied , standing infront of the podium.

A- we'll talk later about that then. So to be honest I, I knew I was going to get an award but I wasn't aware of the title . A Dream lecturer, sounds good, infact for an old student of the institution like me , this honour really means a lot . I just want to thank everyone from the management, especially my students. Thank you !

' congrats mam '

'Congrats mam! '

' mam treat mam ?!'

The students started flooding with wishes when she came back to her seat .

A- thanks leka,  thanks rihan,  yeah sure thanks .

Om - finally Oscar has come haan ?!

She punched him slightly after noticing his fake sarcastic reaction. In response ,  he slowly pulled her in a warm hug .

Om - congratulations mam !

While hugging him,  her eyes casually wandered and spotted shivaay behind them  ,a few seats far away .  She smiled faintly on watching him busy chatting with Mallika , where she was saying something in his ear and both started laughing. 

After sometime,

Some skit was being enacted on the stage now .

Here Om was getting restless on not finding annika yet . She had gone to the washroom and it has been half an hour already .

He dialled for her continuously but there was no answer . He decided to search , and came out of the auditorium .

Om - excuse me ? Did you see annika ?

' an oh annika mam , yeah I saw her near the 2nd year block a few minutes ago '

A staff who just came upstairs,  answered .

Om - thank you. 

Here , mallika went outside to attend a call .

Then , Rehmat  flipped seats with someone to sit beside shivaay on the right side .

S - hey Rehmat , come sit !

Re - what are you listening to ?

He questioned noticing his plugged headset.

S - nothing,  just scores . By the way  long time haan , it has been 6 months since we had met . Your sister's marraige was the last time ,you totally forgot me man .

Re - same to you .

S- what ? I can't hear you !

Shivaay leaned close and shouted at his ears  as the speaker's noise was really high .

Re - I said , you have changed a lot !!

S- me ? Really?

Om was confused on finding annika inside the 2nd year classroom.  She was seated in the first bench , with her face hidden between  her arms which in turn were pressed to the table . He went close. 

Om - hey ,what are you doing here? I was  so worried .

On getting no response , he sat beside her and touched her head .

Om - annika .

She slowly looked up .

For a second Om was shocked and stunned on watching her wet face . Black marks revealed the smudged liner near her eyes . Her red swollen eyes seemed too tired and worn out . She watched his worried face and struggled to bring words from her mouth .

A- I ...didn't know Om . I ,didn't, know .

Re - yeah , entirely ! Totally!

S- why would you say that ?

Re- the way you used to torture me back then , I thought you would somehow convince mam at last but , you ...

He shrugged his shoulders  casually  after stating this while shivaay thought for a few seconds and smiled.

S- hmm , sounds like I really have changed .

A- I...didn't know that I,..I'll change .

Om - what are you talking about annika ?  See , stop crying first .

He wiped  her tears and rubbed his fingers  over her cheek softly. But annika's tears remained unstoppable, at one point she just jumped to grab Om's shoulders for support and hugged him tightly .

She cried hysterically and Om went clueless. She crushed his collar within her fists and cried hard.

A- I can't ,...I really can't face the reality Om !!

S - change happened with me too . What to do Rehmat ? reality must be accepted right ?

Om- annika  , what

A- do you know how I felt ...when , when

S- at first , it was really tough . I felt as if  , it was so painful.

I'm afraid to lose you and you're not even mine 🌙
