Sometimes, as the years go by, your mind forgets the things you've loved as a child.  Your favorite things forgotten after years of new experiences.  Sometimes it's something we forget without any care, like your favorite song or your favorite movie, and others its something important, like your friends names or a phone number.  But every so often, something will come along and remind you of something familiar.

 This was the case one week ago, after my grandfather's funeral.  He died of peaceful causes in his sleep, but it was sad all the same.  He was a bit of a hoarder in life, so after he past on, my family went to his home to clean the place out.  Each of us were given a section of the household to clean, and I was assigned to work up in the attic.

It was filled with useless  junk.  Odd trinkets and memorabilia were scattered through out the dusty storage area.  I had filled several bags with the trash when I encountered a box.  Why would I care?  Well there was a note on the lid.  My eyes simply looked at the message.

To whom it may concern,

I have spent my life collecting items, but this box contains one worth something.  The VHS s within are of a popular cancelled children's show.  If you encounter this, please sell it and give the money to my family.  Please do not watch them though.  These are collectible tapes, and they will be worth more in mint condition.

That was my Grandfather, one who thought all things could make him cash.  Even still it couldn't hurt if I took a look at the tapes.  I took the box with me to my apartment after we finished cleaning for the day.  It was late, so I wasn't going to watch them today, but I just wanted to look at the titles.

As I opened the box, dust flew everywhere.  This thing must have been sitting for years.  The tapes had no cover, but each was numbered by a date.  I took one out and saw the name.

The name seemed familiar; I've heard it somewhere before.  It wasn't triggering any memories, but my gut was telling me I had heard that title before.  Strange, but it's getting late now.  I'll try to update my blog as much as I can about the tapes, however I have to say goodnight for now.  Talk with you soon...
