thirty

tyler impatiently tapped the eraser of his pencil against his desk as he waited for the bell to ring. josh was subbing for his history teacher today and he was eager to leave english. he completed zoned out what his teacher was saying as he started down the clock, as if he could make time move faster.

"tyler? pay attention."

just then, the bell rang. tyler quickly stood up and started gathering his things, but the teacher stopped him.

"you haven't been paying attention in my class a lot lately."

"sorry," tyler muttered, holding his books to the front of his t-shirt, tapping his foot.

"i've given you several warnings."

"i know."

"i'm going to have to write you up."

"what? oh my gosh, fine. just hurry up, i'm going to be late to history."

tyler was refraining from rolling his eyes. he was getting a detention just because he zoned out during class. not his fault he'd rather watch a wall dry than listen to the teacher.

she filled out the form, much too slowly to tyler's liking. he sighed impatiently, quickly signing the slip when she handed him her pen. he left straight after, not wanting to get caught up in another conversation.

tyler decided not to even rush. he'd just gotten detention for a dumbass reason that josh was going to be mad at him for. why not piss josh off a little more? that's all everyone was doing to tyler today, anyway. pissing him off.

the brunette took his time exchanging his notebooks at his locker, the late bell ringing just as he started walking to history. tyler shuffled his feet, a glum expression on his face as he started down at his floral vans. it was thursday, his least favorite day of the week. he just wished it was friday. not to mention everyone just seemed to be getting on his nerves today.

he pushed the wooden door to his class open quickly, hoping josh would just let him head right for his seat. all eyes turned to him, including josh's.

"tyler." josh stood between him and the rest of the class, blocking the route to his desk. "where were you?"

"nowhere."

"tyler," josh lowered his voice, narrowing his brown orbs at the boy. tyler simply stared at the ground. "everyone get to work while i talk with tyler out in the hall. "

a heavy sigh escaped from the boy, making josh raise an eyebrow. "someone's moody," he commented as he followed tyler into the hall and closed the classroom door.

"whatever."

"what's up, ty?"

"nothing."

"did something happen?"

"no," tyler muttered. maybe he wouldn't have to tell josh he got detention.

"don't lie to me."

tyler rolled his eyes, lifting his hands to pick at his nail polish.

"don't roll your eyes, either," josh ordered, gripping tyler's face between his fingers and forcing the boy to look at him.

tyler harshly pulled his face away, giving josh a death glare. "don't do that."

josh did it again.

tyler made a high-pitched whining noise. "josh! i'm not in the mood!"

"bad day?" josh asked gently.

"yeah."

"what happened?"

"i got detention, it's thursday, everyone is getting on my nerves."

"you got detention?" josh repeated. "what'd you do?"

"i haven't been paying much attention in english lately but that's because i'd rather shoot myself in the foot than listen to my teacher's boring voice go on and on and on."

"tyler," josh scolded. "you have to deal with it."

"i tried, josh! i mean, mr. dun..."

"and then you were late to class on top of getting detention?"

"m sorry, sir."

that sorta brought a smile to josh's face.

"mhm, well have fun in detention."

josh opened the door, letting tyler enter the room first. he walked tyler to his seat and gave him the page numbers for the notes he was supposed to be taking.

"can't i just do this in detention?"

"whatever, tyler. i don't care as long as it gets done."

"it will, sir."

"it better."

✨🌸✨

there was no way tyler would be finishing his history notes in detention. the teacher that originally was going to stay had something come up, so the principal told josh he'd get paid extra if he stayed. josh obviously agreed. for some odd reason, tyler was the only student in detention.

"seems like you were the only one that had a bad day today," josh teased.

"shut up, i hate thursdays. you know this."

"i know, now do your notes you were supposed to take in class."

"hmm, how about we do something else?"

"tyler," josh sighed. "you have to do your notes."

"i will later!" what a lie. "it's just been a really bad, long day josh..."

"we're still in school," josh reminded him.

"fine. i had a bad day today, sir."

josh would be lying if he said it didn't turn him on at all when tyler called him that.

"what do you want me to do about it, baby?" josh asked, leaning against the teacher's desk as he smirked at tyler.

tyler smiled in response, knowing he was getting his way. his fingers curled around josh's tie, tugging on it gently. "i think you know what i want."

"tell me what you want."

"i want you to make me feel good, sir."

"what do you say?"

"please."

"such a good boy," josh praised.

he picked the boy up by his waist and set him on the desk. josh was sure to lock the door before he got started.
