It was the next day when sanyukta had specially taken a day off to be with Kanika. There was lot to be revealed and talked about. She had many questions in her mind who's answers were very important.

They both were sitting in sandhir's room silently waiting for the other one to start. Sanyukta eyed her and signaled her to begin. Kanika knew that now she has to start from the starting, she took a deep breathe before beginning.

"Papa aur harsh uncle friends hai, that is how I know this family." She told.

"Toh yeh humko pehle kaise nhi pata chala?" Sanyukta shot her first question.

"Woh hume tumhare aur Randhir ke dads ki rivalry ke baare mei pata tha, hume laga ki agar hum tumko bata denge ki hum unse connected hai toh tum humse dosti tod dogi." Kanika looked down.

Sanyukta wanted to counter at this but she knew she'll get a lot of chances for it in this conversation.

"Hume Aryan ne bhi kabhi nhi bataya ki woh tumko pehle se jaanta hai." Sanyukta let out her confusion.

"Woh kyu batayega, nafrat karta hai humse bachpan se aur hum usse, bachpan se bas ladte hi rhe hai hum dono. College mei bhi ekdum strangers ki tarah rehte the." She explained.

"Nafrat? Par kyu?" Sanyukta asked not getting it.

"Woh toh hum bhi nhi jaante, bas itna pata hai ki bachpan se hum randhir ke jitna close rhe hai, Aryan se utni hi doori rhi." Kanika shrugged.

Sanyukta frowned at it as how can two people hate each other without any reason, there has to be something. She never thought that Aryan could be rude to anyone but the way he taunted kanika the last night and didn't even welcome her said a completely different story. Anyway, she sighed and thought to ask about it to Aryan afterwards.

"Tu London kyu chali gyi thi achanak?" She put forward the most awaited question.

Kanika looked down immediately as her eyes teared up, she exhaled loudly before starting.

"Sanyu tu jaanti hai ki maa papa London mei rehte hai. Hume humesha se India pasand tha aur hum yahi rehna bhi chahte the isiliye humne yahi pe padhayi bhi ki, lekin..." She paused.

"Lekin kyu sanu, please bata hume, hum jaante hai ki farewell ke time kuch toh hua tha." She remembered.

"Sanyu yaad hai humare college mei Saransh dixit padhta tha?" Kanika tried to remind her.

"Woh kamina jispe tumko crush tha aur hum tumko usse door rakhte the?" She recalled getting angry.

How can she forget that pervert, he always used to hit on every girl in the college. He had even tried to ask sanyukta out but she had instantly showed him his 'aukaat' and after that he started hating her.

Kanika always had a crush on him and used to wait for his attention. She used to get heartbroken everytime he was with some other toy of his. Sanyukta being her best friend always tried to make her understand that he wasn't worth it.

"Haan wohi, aur tum yeh bhi jaanti ho ki tumhare bolne ke baad humne usko chhod diya tha aur move on bhi karne wale the but phir...."

FLASHBACK :-

"Kanika kya tum mere saath farewell party mei chalogi?" Saransh proposed her.

Kanika was too shocked to react. The guy she used to dream about was standing in front of her asking her to be his date. She was lost in her or should we say his thoughts when he clicked his fingers in front of her face.

"Excuse me, I don't have the whole day, answer fast." He said with a tinge of irritation in his voice which she didn't notice.

"Ye...yes, I'll...I will come with you." She tried to hide her excitement.

"OK then reach the venue before 7 and please look nice as I have a reputation." He dismissed her. She couldn't see his rude self as she was too happy to react.

Kanika felt as if she was on the cloud 9. She couldn't express her joy in words. After all her first crush had asked her out. Sanyukta had gone out of station so didn't had any idea about all this.

Saransh got heavily drunk in the party and then dragged Kanika to the dance floor. He tried to get close to her roaming his hands on her shamelessly while she stood there uncomfortable. Suddenly she felt his hand slowly climb down her waist towards her butt, this was enough she pushed him away and tried to walk past him but he was quick enough to grab her hand very tightly and drag her to a secluded area.

He took her to an empty classroom while she just tried to free herself but of course he was much stronger. He closed the door with his leg and pinned her against the wall.

"Chhodo hume, humne kaha chhodo, please chhod do." She cried hysterically.

"Chup karo ekdum chup." He threatened her.

"Tum kyu kar rhe ho aise hume laga tha..." She trailed off.

"Kya laga tha haan? Ki mujhe tumse pyaar hogya yaa mai tumhe pasand karta hoon? Apni shakal dekhi hai aine mei? Tumhe to maine bas uss stupid bet ke liye propose kiya tha, tum toh serious hogyi." He laughed pathetically breaking her heart into trillion pieces.

"Mujhe pata hai ki tum mujhe pyaar karti ho, toh kyu naa aaj tum apna pyaar prove karo? What say? Chalo now kiss me like a good girl." He leaned forward completely drunk while she tried to push him away.

The room was all dark so nothing could be seen. Suddenly saransh winced and fell back. Kanika realized that someone was standing behind him who had hit him with the rod.

She was too scared to bother, she immediately took the opportunity and ran as fast as she could.

FLASHBACK ENDS.

"I was traumatized sanyukta, I really felt for him and he tried to..." Kanika was crying profusely by now.

"Tumne hume pehle kyu nhi bataya?" Sanyukta said with hurt clear in her voice and tears of anger dripping from her eyes.

"Hum depression mei the, bhot affect kiya tha iss incident ne hume, bina kuch soche samjhe hum bas apne parents ke paas wapas chale gye. I am sorry sanyu am really very sorry." She let out a sob.

"Nhi ab koi sorry nhi" sanyukta murmured before taking her in her tight embrace.

They both sat like that till her sobs became silent. She soothed Kanika and helped her let out the immense pain.

Its truly said that a best friend is our greatest blessing as only she has the power to help us overcome any problem.

An hour had passed since the crying session and sanyukta had managed to calm Kanika. They both were chatting randomly, catching up for the lost time.

Sanyukta told her about her marriage and the current situation, she shared every single detail and like a true best friend Kanika teased her to hell making her go red.

"Toh aage ka kya plan hai tum dono ka?" Kanika asked coolly.

"Plan? Matlab?" Sanyukta got confused.

"Humara matlab ab tum dono zindagi bhar toh friends nhi reh sakte naa, toh next step ka kya plan hai." Kanika explained to her dumb friend.

"Plan toh kuch nhi hai, next step kya hona chahiye?" Sanyukta proved her dumbness.

"Hey bhagwan!!! Inn dono manushyo ko sad-buddhi de." Kanika looked up dramatically holing her head.

"Tum dono friends nhi husband wife ho, toh I think ab you should behave like one. Apne relationship ko ek chance do. Hum jaante hai ki tum dono abhi ek dusre se pyaar nhi karte, par koshish toh karo, kya pata tumhe randhir mei apna sacha pyaar mil jaaye." As Sanyukta was going to reply Kanika got an important call and exited the room.

The whole day passed and Sanyukta was just lost in kanika's words. It was true that they never lived like a normal couple but the question was, can they really not live normally?

As she was emersed in her thought randhir entered the room and cleared his throat to gain her attention. As soon as she saw randhir, kanika's words started playing in her mind on loops.

She took slow steps towards him while he was still to notice her intense gaze on him. She stood in front of him when he was still speaking telling her about his day.

All of a sudden, she held his nape and slammed their lips together, pausing him and initiating their first ever proper kiss.
