Virgil's POV

I slowly sat up in my bed, yawning and rubbing my eyes sleepily. Stretching my arms, I checked the time on my alarm: 8am. That's unusual. I'm not usually awake this early. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I yawned.

"Just me kiddo. I came to tell you that breakfast is almost ready if you want some" A bubbly voice chirped, a voice that I recognised as Patton's (my crush).

"Thanks Pat. I'll be down in a sec" I told him.

"Great! See you in a bit then. Bye!"

Just hearing his voice made my heart flutter around and shimmer in my chest. My love for him grew bigger and bigger every time I saw him and there was no controlling it. I knew my feelings would never be returned though because who could ever love someone like me? So I always hid my feelings for him and thought that no one could tell how I felt. I was wrong.

Time skip

After trying to make myself look at least half decent, I head downstairs to join Patton and the others. As usual, breakfast smelt delicious but that's because Patton made it and everything he does is perfect since he is perfect himself. As soon as Patton saw me, his face seemed to light up.

"Virgey!" He smiled as he ran up to me and engulfed me in a hug. I felt my cheeks glow red and heat up and my heart skipped a few beats.

"H-hi Pat" I stuttered before mentally face palming myself. Why did I have to stutter? Why was I so nervous around him?

"Take a seat! I'm just finishing off breakfast. I'm making pancakes!" He smiled.

"Sounds delicious!" I exclaimed before he ran off into the kitchen and I sat down with a big dopey grin on my face. My mind began to wander off, thinking about how amazing it would be to be his boyfriend. How amazing it would be to cuddle up in bed with him and have him litter me in kisses whilst we-

"Oooh. Looks like somebody has a crush" I immediately snapped back into reality when I heard Roman coo.

"What? No. Why would you think I have a crush? Of course not. That's stupid" I rambled, desperately trying to cover up my love for Patton. I would be too embarrassed if they knew, especially if they told Patton.

"Oh come on Virge, do I look stupid?" Roman asked.

"Do you really want me to answer that?" I replied.

"It's so obvious. You love him don't you?"

"What? No"

"Don't lie to me Virge. The way you were acting just then, it's so obvious you love him"

"Fine! You got me. Just please don't tell Patton" I sighed, finally admitting defeat.

"Don't tell me what kiddo?" Patton asked as he came in carrying a plate with a neat stack of pancakes.

"N-nothing" I lied.

"Virgil has a crush on you" Roman told him, smirking. I glared at Roman, hissing at him, only to see his smug expression grow.

Patton gently placed the pancakes down on the table and turned to me. "Kiddo, is this true?" He asked.

"I...um...yes" I mumbled, blushing.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He asked frowning.

"I dunno. Cause I was anxious I guess. I didn't know what you'd say. I thought you might ridicule me or turn me down or-" My rambling was interrupted by Patton pulling me into a sweet, tender kiss.

"Kiddo, I would never say that" he told me as he pulled away "Because I love you too"

We both closed our eyes and leaned in for another soft, gentle kiss as I felt all my nervousness and worry slowly melt away.
