"Do you really love him though?" Deceit asked Patton as he raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah?" Patton replied, although it sounded as if he was questioning himself. "Of course I do!" He tried to convince himself.

"Really? Because to me, you repeatedly saying that you love him is a sign that you are trying to convince yourself that you do because you think that you should...or are scared that something bad will happen to you if you don't"

"I-I think you're right" Patton admitted. "I mean, I definitely used to love him but he's not who he used to be. He's changed...and not for the better"

"Then why don't you break up with him?" Deceit suggested once again. "I mean you don't really love him and he's hurting you"

"I can't"

"And why not? It's not like you actually love him, you only think you should"

"I know but...what will he do to me if I do?" Patton asked as fear and worry slowly crept across his face.

"Well what if it wasn't actually you breaking up with him?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you know how I can disguise myself as you, what if I actually used that skill for something good?"

"Deceit, you're not suggesting-"

"I could pretend to be you and break up with him for you" Deceit interrupted him. Patton stood to his feet in protest.

"No I couldn't make you do that. I wouldn't want him to hurt you"

"Oh Patton," Deceit also stood to his feet and took Patton's hands in his, "You're my best friend. I'd do anything for you. Besides, he won't hurt me. Please let me do this for you" Deceit pleaded, giving Patton puppy dog eyes.

"Are you sure about this?" Patton asked. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"Patton, I'll be fine, I promise. I want to help you"

"Fine. Just stay safe...please" Patton weakly smiled. "I'll stay right outside the door though in case anything happens okay?" Deceit nodded a he clicked his fingers and turned into Patton.

"Ready?" He asked.

"I guess so"

The two were outside Virgil's room, ready to put their plan into action. Just as Deceit was about to enter, Patton gently tapped him on the shoulder, causing him to turn around.

"Be careful" Patton whispered.

"I will" Deceit replied before knocking on Virgil's door, Patton hiding with his back against the wall.

"What?!?" Virgil barked from inside.

"Hey! It's me, Patton. Can I come in please? I need to talk to you" Deceit asked, disguised as Patton.

"Ugh can't it wait? I'm busy. I don't have time to listen to your pathetic voice"

"Please, it's important"

"Ugh fine" Virgil moaned. "Just be quick okay" Deceit quickly opened the door slightly and slipped through before closing it again. Patton moved closer towards the door, placing his eye near the key hole so he could see what was happening. "So, what's so important that you need to talk to me right now?" Virgil stood to his feet, staring intensely at Deceit, making him feel uneasy. Taking in a deep breath, Deceit put on a stern face and made himself look taller.

"The way that you've been treating me lately is not right. I don't deserve it. I deserve so much better"

"And who told you that?" Virgil scoffed. "You deserve exactly what you are getting. You know why? Because you're a weak, pathetic, useless loser" Whilst these words didn't effect Deceit, they really hurt Patton. It felt as if a knife had been stabbed into his chest.

"No! I'm not. Look, I don't want to be with someone who treats me like a piece of trash. I don't deserve this"

"What are you saying?" Virgil growled.

"I don't think we should be together any more" Deceit told him firmly.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!?!?" Virgil yelled.

"I said that we shouldn't be together anymore, not when you treat me like this. I'm breaking up with you"

"NO!" Virgil yelled, a fire lit with anger burned in his eyes as he grabbed Deceit's arm and threw him across the room, making him hit the wall and slide down it. As he tried to pull himself to his feet, Virgil towered over him, his hands on his hips. "YOU ARE MINE! YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE ME LIKE THAT!"

"I AM MY OWN PERSON! I CAN DO WHAT I WANT! YOU DON'T CONTROL ME!" Deceit yelled. Gritting his teeth, Virgil clenched his fist and raised it above his head, smirking.

"You never learn do you?" Listening from outside, Patton realised that he had to step in and stop all of this. As Virgil swung his fist at Deceit, he swung the door open and ran between the two.

"Nooooo!" He yelled, holding his hand out to stop Virgil. However, it was too late. Virgil's fist swung towards him, hitting his face and knocking him to the ground.

"Patton!" Deceit yelled, slowly transforming back to himself. He quickly ran over to Patton's side and helped him up.

"What the heck is going on here?!?" Virgil asked as he crossed his arms.

"I...um...well...you see..." Patton struggled to find his words so Deceit explained everything.

"Patton told me about the horrible way you've been treating him and I couldn't just let that happen.

"WHAT?!?" Virgil yelled, turning to Patton. "I thought I told you not to tell anyone otherwise there would be consequences!"

"I..." A few tears trickled down Patton's cheek. "I'm sorry" He apologised.

"No! Patton isn't the one in the wrong here!" Deceit protested. "It's you! No one deserves to be treated the way you've treated him! He deserves so much better than you!"

"Who are you to interfere with our relationship?" Virgil snarled.

"A very concerned best friend" Deceit replied confidently. Suddenly, an idea popped into Virgil's mind. Smirking, he grabbed Deceit's arm, pulling him towards himself and gripping it tightly.

"No!" Patton yelled. "Let him go...please"

"Hmm I'll let him go...if"

"If what? I'll do anything. Just please let him go!"

"If I have you instead" Virgil smirked "If you stay with me forever and tell no one else about this. If you do whatever I say. Is that a deal?"

"Patton no! Don't do this!" Deceit yelled.

"Quiet!" Virgil barked before turning back to Patton. "So?"

"You promise to let him go?" Patton asked.

"I'll never bother him again. I won't even lay a finger on any of your "friends". Deal?"

"Deal"

Smirking, Virgil pulled Deceit over to the door and swung it wide open and threw him outside. "Don't ever interfere with us again!" He sneered before slamming the door shut. As Deceit ran over to it to try and save Patton, he heard the lock click and sighed, feeling defeated. He only wanted to make things better for Patton but ended up only making things way worse. As he head back to his room with his head hung low, he could hear Patton's distant screams and whimpers as well as Virgil's deep chuckles and slaps and punches and kicks and all he could do was just try to forget what had happened
