Hey guys. So I just wanted to quickly thank ashdsawyer10 for the suggestion and if anyone else has any requests or suggestions, please feel free to let me know. So since this is quite a long song, I did have to shorten it down quite a bit and cut out parts that didn't make that much sense to the story so I hope y'all don't mind. So this one shot takes place directly after the "Can You Hold Me" one shot. So this concept is slightly different to what actually happens in the "Sanders Sides" universe but I hope y'all don't mind. Also, due to the song lyrics, there will be a lot of references to "the war". You can use your imagination on what they are referring to but in my mind, it refers to Virgil's internal war that he is facing but everyone may have their own opinions. Also, in this one shot, Logan and Roman don't know Virgil's real name. Only Patton knows. And just warning y'all there will be some angst. Oh and a quick disclaimer: I do not own the song. "Virgil, I want you to come back...please. I miss you" Patton smiled sadly, looking down at Virgil.

"Oh Pat, I wish I could, truly I do, but you know I can't" Virgil sighed.

"Why not?" Patton frowned.

"Because I don't belong with all of you. Besides, I'm pretty sure Roman and Logan don't want me back"

"But I want you back. Can't you see that?" A few tears trickled down Patton's cheek as he cupped his hands around Virgil's face. "Please come back. I need you. I don't know how I could go on without you"

"I'm afraid you might have to. You're the only one out of the three sides who wants me back. I can't come back unless all three of you want me to"

"Then I'll just have to convince them to" Patton told him with confidence glistening in his eye.

"Patton, what if they don't want me back?" Virgil asked. "What if they're mad at you for trying to get me back?"

"They won't be. Look, I promise I'll get you back Virgey, okay?" 

Virgil nodded before squeezing onto Patton even tighter. "Thank you. Just please don't risk anything for me" 

"Oh Virgey, I love you. I would risk my entire life for you. I can't promise that this won't be the same. But I'll try to stay safe" Patton softly smiled before pecking Virgil on the cheek and sinking down and right out of his arms. Sighing, Virgil flopped onto his bed.

"I hope he'll be okay"

Meanwhile

Patton appeared back in his room. His face still tear stained, he ran downstairs to the living room where he found Roman and Logan lying on the sofa asleep. Taking a deep breath in and mentally preparing what he was going to say, he gently shook Roman's shoulder, attempting to wake him up.

"Wake up" he softly whispered as Roman woke up with a yawn. "Say good morning to that sleepy person lying next to you"

With a big stretch, Roman nodded and shook Logan to wake him up. "Wake up Lo" he yawned as Logan's eyes slowly opened.

"Yes Roman" Logan yawned.

"I think Pat wants us" Both sitting up, they looked towards Patton.

"What is it Patton?" Logan asked.

"Is everything okay Pat?" Roman asked, raising an eyebrow. "You look like you've been crying"

"I'm fi-... No it's not" Patton sobbed bursting into tears. "It's Vi-Anxiety He ducked out and can't come back until we all want him to. He feels as if there's no one there for him. Please help me get him back" he pleaded.

"Well if there's no one there, then there's no one there. But at least the war is over" Roman shrugged before Logan sharply nudged him. "OUCH!!!! What the heck was that for?!?"

"Roman, you shouldn't be saying things like that. Can you not see that Patton is upset?" Logan scolded him.

"Sorry" He sighed, rolling his eyes.

"Come on guys, please help me get him back. He can't come back unless we all want him to and...well I can't live without him. So please help me. Please. I'm begging you" Patton looked up at them with pleading eyes brimmed with tears.

"I don't know Pat. Shouldn't a lack of fear be good for Thomas?" Roman asked and Patton gasped as Logan sharply nudged him again. "OUCH!"

"Roman, you can't say things like that. Besides, without any anxiety at all, Thomas's productivity will decrease and we can't have that. We have to get him back" Logan reasoned.

Roman looked at Logan, then at Patton's pleading eyes, then back at Logan before sighing. "Ugh fine. Off to Anxiety's room we go then"

They all closed their eyes and sunk down into Virgil's room. When they arrived, they saw him lying on his bed, his head buried in his pillow. With a soft smile, Patton walked over to him and placed his hand on his shoulder and whispered "It's us" Virgil immediately looked up and smiled when he saw Patton again. He immediately threw his arms around him as Patton rubbed his back soothingly with a bright smile on his face. "Yes, we're back again. Here to see you through till the days end"

"And if the night comes, and the night will come, well at least the war is over" Logan added, approaching the pair. Patton immediately pulled Logan into the hug and although he seemed uncomfortable at first, he quickly eased up.

"Lift your head and look at the window" Patton smiled.

"Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go" Logan added.

Finally, Roman, who had been standing there with his arms crossed the whole time, decided to join in the hug. He realised that although he may not have liked him, Anxiety needed all the support he could get at the moment. "Listen, the birds sing. Listen, the bells ring. The war is over and we are beginning"

"I don't get it. Why are you all here?" Virgil asked.

"Because we all want you back. Can't you see? We all love you. Me most of all" Patton smiled at him before gently kissing his cheek.

"You really want me back? All of you?" Virgil asked in disbelief.

"Of course!" Patton exclaimed.

"Look Anxiety, I just want to appologise for how I have behaved" Roman appologised after taking in a deep breath. "I've been acting like a real jerk lately and have made you feel unwanted but that's not true. I'm sorry, truly I am"

"You are?" Virgil raised an eyebrow.

"Of course! Lift your head and look out the window. Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go" Roman softly smiled. "Listen, the birds sing"

"Listen, the bells ring" Patton and Logan added in unison.

"The war is over and we are beginning" Virgil spoke softly as the other three nodded.

"Vi-Anxiety, we promise to never leave you out again" Patton told him, squeezing him tighter.

"So are we all friends now?" Virgil asked.

"I guess so" Roman shrugged as he and Logan pulled away from the hug but Patton still held on.

"But us two are more than friends" He giggled as Virgil and Patton's lips both met in a soft and gentle kiss.

"Lift your head and look out the window. Stay that way for the rest of the day and watch the time go" the couple spoke in unison.

"Listen, the birds sing" Roman joined in.

"Listen, the bells ring" Logan now joined in so the 4 sides were all speaking in unison.

"The war is over and we are beginning. Here it comes. Here comes the first day. Here it comes. Here comes the first day. It starts up in our bedrooms after the war. It starts up in our bedrooms after the war. After the war" they all spoke in unison before all joining in in a group hug with everyone smiling and finally happy.
