Why New Account?

Ah, that is a VERY good question to ask. There are many reasons I wish to dive in and fully explain each one.

Reason 1# - Old Content

All writers have their humble beginnings, right? I was just a kid writing fanfiction and living life. But that was the problem.

I had no idea how to properly write fiction. Which is how everyone starts, yes. But I also didn't know what I was doing with my account. I didn't know which direction to take, kind of, so my content was random at times. I have a fucking fortnite book...and a Nintendo memes book. Along with cringy old smash bros one shot fanfics.

Yeah, the one-shots got better over time but they're still amateur writing. I do wish to return to writing on a more SERIOUS level. I'm not going to be taken seriously by reader's if I have that kind of stuff on my profile.

I know you may be thinking, why not just delete them? I can't bring myself to do it. I know a lot of people still enjoy my old books and I have a lot of fond memories with them, so I'm keeping them up.

Reason #2 - A New Beginning

I want to start new. Fresh. Very fresh. And I know I have a huge following, up to 500+ followers! But most of my followers are inactive or just don't even know I exist anymore. I'd be lying if I didn't care about having followers, but regaining my old audience is slim to none.

I was in my prime in my teens. Most of said followers were teens as well. Now we're all adults that moved on with their lives. And I want my new account to reflect that, to go for a more mature audience instead of the young audience I've garnered in the past.

Reason #3 - New Target Audience & Genres

I still wish to make fanfics on my new account, but they won't be my main focus. BUT my main focus is creating ORIGINAL fiction on a professional level for young adults and new adults to enjoy.

I'm going to hone in on Romance and Fantasy primarily, mixed in with some Action & Adventure! I will start out small, however, with short stories for people to indulge in and slowly move on to novellas, than to a full on novel!

I hope to actually self-publish one day as well, using Wattpad and other writing platforms to gain support and grow an audience!

Reason #4 - Writing Commissions & Portfolio

I take free lance writing now. Specifically, writing commissions. It's like art commissions: the buyer pays the writer and the writer delivers a service to the buyer. That be beta reading & reviewing, editing, scripting, fictional stories, etc.

I take writing commissions on DeviantArt...Yes, I know. DeviantArt doesn't have much going in the writing community but it's still there and I've made decent Paypal money making stories for people there.

I wish to advertise my writing commission on here as well! Definetely on the new account, not here, that would be even more of a nightmare, as readers may look at my past works as apart of my portfolio. My childish Fortnite memes book isn't a part of my portfolio. Now you see why it's bad?

Reason #5 - Reader Only

I feel like managing this account is a burden and I just don't want to create content for it. BUT I will still be active on this account. I have a LOT of fanfics I still haven't read, as I have HUGE reading lists and a library that I absolutely refuse to abandon.

And transferring all of that to my new account would be a nightmare. I will read content on my new account but mainly original stories by lesser-known writers.

I will do the same for fanfic writers on this account. But if people wish to contact me, just go to my new sylvymilky account instead.

My Final Say / Goals

Yeah, so those are my reasons why. I want to resume my writing career but I have to accept the fact I need to take it more seriously and branch out to original content. I hope to one day join the Wattpad partner program and have a stable earning from my works. But that's WAY later in the future.

I will also freelance on Simily.co and Medium. Simily is a website for fictional writers that want to get paid per view on their stories. Same goes with Medium, but Medium is focused on non fiction blogs & articles. You can still post fictional works on Medium and you can even start posting right away! You can practically post anything on Medium, as long as you know how to advertise yourself.

And I plan on doing just that. I want to expand on the world of fiction while making a decent penny. I wish to be a full-time author but that's going to take a LONG process, one that I'm willing to take.

It's now up to you as the reader if you wish to go along with my journey or not, until then, Sylvy is signing out. Goodbye!
