CHAPTER IV: NEVERLAND?

Renea Ramsey

Renea laid on her back, her fingers resting in dirt; she sat up slowly looking around, her heart beating at the thought of her brothers being lost. She shook, standing up, dread was taking over her body. Renea looked down at her clothes, and hands, grime was incubated in the folds of her clothing and embedded in her skin. She winced as she prodded at her palm, her hands shaking, eyes watering as she pulled at the small rocks that pierced through her skin.

Jumping, Renea looked towards the source of the sound; her chest seemed to realise her heart from falling to her stomach, catching sight of a raven flying through a tree top. She kicked up dust, leaves, and sticks, Renea circled the small clearing, hoping that her eyes would adjust to the darkness.

A binding fear struck Renea's body as she made a little way from the clearing, her hands clammy with the hair raising for the nape of her neck and arms. Renea's breath quickened at the dark thoughts that consumed her mind. Her eyes darting for any sign of Felix and Huntington. She took a deep breath letting the dry air swipe across her face before she felt the chillness of the air. It descended into her skin, hitting her bones with a shiver.

She held her breath; the silhouette caught her eyes before the hush words whispered in her ears. Renea turned quickly watching as Felix quickly hid behind the tree. "Felix? Huntington?" Renea whispered, moving closer to the tree. She took a deep breath as she made her way around the large tree to see Huntington curled into Felix. His face was petrified.

"Renea!" Huntington cried, his body shaking in terror. She dropped down to her knees, holding her hand over his mouth tightly as she held one finger against her lips; taking a seat next to Felix, she wrapped her arm around him while sitting Huntington in her lap. Renea's breath shallow, she shut her eyes quickly, taking three deep breaths.

The unyielding fear for her brothers were the first thing to leave her, the fear that held her was a different type. Renea was in terror, with the bone chilling coldness never leaving her body. She held Felix and Huntington closer. It felt as if she was choking.

Huntington fell asleep with one hand holding onto her shirt tightly, the other in Felix's hand with his head on her chest. Shortly after Huntington, Felix's eyes grew tired, his head dropping to his chest with his other hand in Renea's. Her eyes began to sink, her head leaning against the old tree.

Screams, loud terrifying screams were the first things Renea heard. Her hands looking for Huntington's and Felix's own hands; her head hit the back of the tree as she jerked fully awake. Her heart was beating at a rapid speed, her mind working slower than normal. Renea moved to the edge of the tree, her breathing was thick, her body froze with the sight that was before her. She watched as two men in dark green cloaks carried Felix and Huntington away from the small clearing.

Renea felt someone dig their hand into her hair. A rush of agony extended through her body. The stranger laughed deeply as she had let out a whine. The newcomer was now in front of her with a fist full of Renea's red hair. He pulled upwards on her hair, indicating for her to stand up. Refusing, she laid on her stomach.

He cackled with laughter.

Gripping Renea's hair tighter, his fingers stiff, he pulled Renea through the muck of the small glade. She twisted and turned with the force that he used. She had caught sight that he was wearing a darker green cloak - it was almost a black color - before she closed her eyes. She refused to let out a scream as his laughter was alive with enjoyment.

Renea could hear the wails of Huntington and Felix. Her body warmed at the sound of her brothers cries. At one point should swear that her blood was boiling with rage. She felt as two sets of hands pulled her upright while setting her against a tree.

Blinking a few times, clearing her eyesight of the dark dots, her jaw clenched at the sight of her brothers, her nostrils flaring as the boys laughed with delight. Was this the most fun they've ever had?

Felix and Huntington were tied to a large tree trunk, alongside one another, tears slipping down their faces. She felt the boy tie her arms around the tree she was against. He pulled tightly. Wincing, Renea watched the other boys in cloaks step away from her, climbing up the large tree. She concentrated, waiting for the movement of the boy behind her.

He didn't move from behind Renea. She watched Felix and Huntington's face, a horrified expression crossing both of their faces. Huntington crying out for Renea. "It's okay," she mouthed, sitting up straight, while holding her head up.

A painful hiss slipped through her lips as her arms began to throb. The warmth of blood glided it's way down her arms. She could feel the stickiness as she swallowed. The boy who stood behind her slowly made his way back around, leaves and sticks crunching underneath his weight.

As he stood in front of her, his face was covered in the shadows of his hood. He held his finger up. Renea watched as he pulled his hood back slowly. The first thing that she noticed was the long scar that stretched across his face from forehead to the tip of his chin. Midnight black hair covered half of his forehead with startling bright blue eyes, almost as if he was looking into a soul. The last thing that Renea noticed was the smirk. "Welcome to Neverland, and I'm your host Declan!" his hand hung loosely at his side with a relax laugh running in between his lips.

"Neverland?"

Declan ignored Renea as he leaned down, setting his head against her own, "Don't worry, pretty, this won't hurt much," his smile thinned as he pulled back, lifting her shirt slightly while running his blade across her stomach. Renea hissed in pain, her eyes connecting with Felix. He nodded, leaning forward covering Huntington's eyes as he cried, Felix shutting his own tightly.

Renea slumped against the tree, looking at the shallow cuts that Declan had made across her body. She hadn't let a painful noise escape from her lips in which she was thankful. Someone hollered up in the trees. Declan looked at her, turning his head to the right. Watching her carefully, he sat the knife at her temple, digging at the skin slightly just enough to let blood spill as he ran his blade down her face.

"You are very pretty," he chuckled, turning on his heel and making his way out of the clearing. Renea listened carefully, waiting to call for her brothers until she couldn't hear footsteps anymore. She wasn't the only one listening as Felix unfolded himself from Huntington. They both watched her with watery eyes.

Renea gave them a quick grin, leaning forward slightly, whispering, "I'm alright, just take care of eachother." Huntington and Felix nodded. It was quite between the three of them. Wondering when the boys were going to return.

Minutes passed - or was it hours? Renea wasn't quite sure. Though she was sure they were dehydrated as she smacked her lips together trying to get just a bit of moisture. Renea stopped, listening as leaves crunched, twigs snapped, and as a breeze swam into the clearing. She pulled at the restraints on her wrist but they wouldn't break, her head pounding with the thought of the boys coming for round two.

"Don't worry, youngsters. We aren't those silly lost boys."

A man with dark brown hair, red tints, and blue eyes stepped out from behind the bushes. A smile across his lips and a clean shave of a beard. Renea let the fear that had been starting to feel her up, releasing it for a moment. Two other men rushed towards Felix and Huntington with a bottle of water in hand.

Renea watched as the man carefully made his way towards her. He crouched down in front of her, watering the handkerchief and pressing it onto her wounds.

"The names Hook, Captain Hook." he spoke to her softly with a grin.

She nodded, wincing as Hook pressed the wounds. Renea stayed quiet watching him carefully, even in this mess she would admit that he was attractive. After cleaning her bloody body, he gave her water. Sighing, relief of the dryness disappearing. Hook leaned close into her ear. Renea leaned closer, her heart beating as he whispered, "This isn't neverland. It's Hades' domain, the Underworld. All you have to do is tell him that you want saving."

Renea nodded, watching as Hook stood up quickly along with his companions and making his way out of the clearing. Thoughts zipped through her mind. She knew that she eventually had to surrender, though Renea refused to let them beat her easily.

Twigs snapped. Renea could hear the laughter of the boys. She slouched, returning to her body stance before the lost boys had left. Declan cleared the opening with a grin, slowly making his way towards her. The anger that had once vanished returned at the sight of his face. He flipped his knife through his fingers with ease.

"Ready for more?" He questioned, a sneer replaced the grin as he glanced at the cleaned wounds. Renea looked behind her, making sure that the boys had taken back their position as Declan raised his hand with the knife. She watched as it swung down, connecting with Renea's face. Her head slammed back into tree with force. She cried out in pain and surprise. Renea could feel the blood dripping down the back of her neck, to her shoulders; though the blood that was streaming down her face was much worst.

The lost boys around the clearing chortled. Declan crouched, grabbing Renea's chin with a grin, pulling her face towards his. She flinched from being in close corridors with him. He laughed as he leaned forward licking the blood from her wound, down her face, and neck. Tears began to build in her eyes as he reached down her shirt.

Renea screamed loudly. Declan flinched backwards just as Renea reared her head backwards, then fowards at full speed, connecting her head with his. He grunted as he stood up. Renea rocked backwards, whispering quietly to herself, "Pan, please, save me."

She watched as a murderous look crossed Declan's face, his eyes turning pitch black, stalking towards her. Fear clenched at Renea's chest as she pushed herself up against the tree trunk her heart squeezed at the thought of dying.

Suddenly, black smoke enclosed around her. Renea searched for something to hold onto but she couldn't find something. She felt coldness swept of her, her breathing becoming shallow. Renea felt herself fall onto the hard floor before her eyes began to close, her head landing on the floor with a loud crack.
