6 - Sick Day

I'm writing this at midnight so if it's terrible I'm sorry

After being outside with Paige for so long, it was no wonder she got sick.

It starts the morning after. Paige got up later than usual- which nobody really noticed as she enjoys a lie in- and the moment she stepped into the kitchen it was clear she wasn't well.

She takes a seat between you and Tony, sniffling. "Morning." She says, sounding nasally.

"It's 1pm." Tony says. "What's the matter?"

"Oh, nothing." She says, before sneezing. Tony cringes and moves away from her.

"6 feet away, please. I told you not to go outside, or you'd catch a cold."

"Well, I did go outside. And if a cold is the price for having a wonderful time with my best friend, then that's what I'll pay."

He shakes his head. "Well, you can spread your germs to her, too. I'm leaving." He announces, before going.

"Classic Tony." She shakes her head.

"I think you should go back to bed, dear." Shrignold says, not looking at you.

"I'm with Tony. Don't bring your germs near me." Robin says. "Go to your room. And close the door so you don't disturb us with your coughing."

"Remember when Robin had the flu and we never heard the end of it? Oh, I just feel so poorly. Oh, I'm really not well." Paige turns to you and laughs. "He's complaining more about me being ill and he's not even got any of the symptoms."

"Ok, let's not start arguments." Harry butts in. "Paige, go to bed. Robin, love you, but stop complaining."

You lead Paige upstairs and get her into bed in her room. You take her some tea up, and leave her to settle down.

You return back downstairs.

"How come you're not ill, Y/N?" Harry asks.

"I wasn't outside as long."

"Y/N is ill!" Shrignold pipes up. "She's lovesick."

"Lovesick?" Robin snorts. "That's ridiculous."

"Yes! I did my own research and came to the conclusion that WLW relationships are okay and that they're enjoyed by a multitude of people in media, including heterosexual men!"

"I think you're a bit confused, Shrignold. Straight men... well... yes, they like WLW relationships, but not always because they're supportive." You begin to explain.

"What do you mean?"

"Anyway! Who's the lucky lady?" Harry interrupts.

"It's-"

Just as he's about to reveal the answer, Tony walks in.

"Thank god, she's gone. I'll have to disinfect the whole area." He sighs.

"Tony, I don't think it's contagious."

"Well, better safe than sorry." He gets to cleaning. He's pulled out all the protective gear: rubber gloves, a face mask, even goggles for his eyes.

"And I thought Colin was bad..." Harry mutters.

"What?" Tony pulls out an earplug.

"Why are you wearing earplugs?"

"In case the infection comes in through my ears."

Harry goes to speak but just sighs and nods, not willing to argue.

A few days later, Paige is feeling better and recovered. Part of you feels sad about it. With Tony avoiding her, you got your girl all to yourself and things almost seemed the way they were; you could talk away to her for hours and cuddle her and share all your inside jokes.

But whatever. It'll rain again at some point.
