Darcy Pov

It was late that night, I was struggling to get to sleep more than I did normally, and sure, I could have just gone into Dad and he would've let me talk out what I needed to, but I didn't want to do that just yet, I was pulled out of my struggle when Libby got into my bed, (it wasn't even that weird for Libby to climb into my bed, but she hadn't done it in a while).

"What's up Libs?"
"I can practically hear you thinking from my bed"
"(Snorts), Sorry that the news is keeping me up"
"Speaking of the news, what do you want from Mum?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well you practically got the help that 'found' her dead body, I couldn't forgive her for that if I were in your shoes Darcy"

While Libby saying that didn't change my mind about Emily, (as I wasn't forgiving her, I didn't think that she deserved it, well I still don't think she deserves it), it did make me think about the fact that Emily really did fuck us over with her fake death thing.

"Oh I'm not forgiving her at all, she willingly missed most of our lives for whatever bullshit reasons she tells herself, plus she fucked Dad over no matter how we look at it, because he's going to be questioned by authorities, either about how she got away with it or about why he didn't know about her not being dead, and family on both sides are going to give him shit for it"
"The Autistic detachment has struck again"
"You say that like that's not the case for you too"
"Oh no, that is the case for me"

I knew that the next few weeks, or even months were going to be rough man, especially if Wendy wanted anything to do with Emily, (not because Wendy got whatever she wanted, but she was slightly more babied than Libby and I as Dad felt awfully guilty about me seeing Emily's dead swinging body).

"Do you think that Besta knows yet Darcy?"
"It's Dad, she doesn't know yet, not because she would judge him for not knowing, but he won't want to worry her about it"
"Does he not realise by now that she'd want to know so that he not carrying that shit on his own?"
"No Libby, don't be silly, he's a man who grew up in the 80's and 90's"
