Sonic Pov

The next day I was wide awake with Y/N in my arms still asleep and I looked over to see Tom was wide awake and he glanced over at my direction biting the tip of his tongue.

"Morning Tom," I greeted.

"Morning. I see that you two slept peacefully last night in each other's arms." Tom said as I felt my cheeks go warm.

"O-Oh, about this..uh..." I stammered as he smiled down at me.

"I know. I can see that you guys are close and even though she's growing up I have to look out for her and before you know it she's going to move forward to make her future dream come true." Tom smiled a little as I returned the same.

"Come on, you go wait in the car while I just help Y/N change into her new clothes and she can sleep during the whole ride in her cat form." 

I nodded and headed out the hotel back down to his truck to wait for them patiently and as a few minutes passed Tom was carrying a sleeping cat form Y/N in his arms.

Grown-up Cat form:

"Aww, she's adorable~" I cooed.

"Yeah, but she's still sleepy so be quiet and we can chit chat on the road." He whispered placing Y/N down in the back seat as she curled into a ball purring softly as Tom got in the passenger seat. He started the engine and we were off once again.

~Time Skip~ *Plays Old Town Road Track*

"So, what's on your bucket list?" I asked.

"Who me?" Tom asked.

"Yeah! Everyone has a bucket list, right?" 

"Oh sure, I mean, your the one leaving earth. I'm not planning on dying anytime soon." He said.

I chuckled, "Oh, don't be so sure. We're best friends." 

"Hm, what not? I like you, of course. But you know we're not best friends." Tom said.

"....You took us to a bar and a hotel last night." I said. 

"And you slept with my sister last night." He said.

I rolled my eyes, "Fine. Best animal friend?"

"That would be my dog Ozzy and Y/N even though she keeps me company at most times when I'm feeling bumped out." He grinned.

"Okay, let's drop this increasingly, humiliating, topic of conversation. Bucket list, give it to me." I begged with a wide grin.

Tom glanced over at me and responded, "Okay, there is one thing. In Green Hills, I felt more like a babysitter than a real cop. Ya know? So, I want a chance to prove myself under real pressure I'm gonna move from San Fransico and become a street cop." 

My jaw just dropped after listening to his bucket list plan. He's going to leave me alone all over again with no one especially when Y/N isn't going to be here either.

"What? Why're you-why is your face doing that?" He asked.

"You're leaving Green Hills?" I exclaimed.

"Okay..." He sighed.

"B-But why? Why would you leave Green Hills?" I asked.

"This may be hard for you to understand but Green Hills is a small town. It's a very small town." He said.

"Uh, it's not small there are hundreds of people," I claimed.

"That's a small town, dude." 

"It's a perfect town and the people need you," I said.

"Oh, please. I cleaned after gutters, I jump-start the cars in the winter, they can call anybody to do  that." He remarked.

"Sure, they can call anybody but they don't. They call you." I said as he looked over at me for a quick second and sighed as his eyes focus back on the road as he gripped the steering wheel.

"What about Y/N? Is she happy about moving to San Francisco?" I asked.

"...I don't know. She's going to have to accept it-it's a big change for her and...I just want her to have a good life. She's just a kid like you." He huffed.

"But I'm sure Y/N would like it much better if she stayed here where she belongs," I mumbled glancing behind the seat where I sat to see her still asleep in her cat form.

'I don't want them to leave...I'll be all alone again.' I thought.
