This movie screamed fanfic gone wrong - or rather 'my first fanfic' written by an 11 year old who doesn't know what love is. It's so awkward and cringe-y and quite painful to watch. Truth is, you'll keep watching it cause just like every bad fan fiction, you read till the end to laugh and just to find out how it'll end - although the ending is always cliche and perfect. The ending of this movie actually wasn't all that perfect, but still cliche.

The acting wasn't all that good. The best friend's girlfriend looked old.

I also just found out it was partially shot in Cape Town. How cool is that? Also, turns out Joey and Jacob are dating in real life, how cliche and cute is that!? Their height difference irks me; he's so much taller than her my heart cried for his spine every time he had to bend down to kiss her.

Overview: This was not a good movie. I love teen/coming of age movies and this one was just nope. I think you should watch it though, it's a good laugh.

Update (10 December 2018): I found this out a long time ago but I guess I forgot to add it: the book this is based off actually was a Wattpad fan fiction written by a 14 year old so everything makes sense now.
