Chapter Five ♚ Moving Game Pieces

AN: Blake's outfit is the same as the last chapter.

Also, hi :} Sorry it's been so long.

Thea Salvatore, Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner were all ready to leave Jack Sparrow behind at his idiotic plan to rescue Blake Hopper.

Especially the siren Captain.

Her jaw was visibly tensed as Joshamme Gibbs had a line of poor souls that called themselves pirates stand in front of them, all ready to set sail with the infamous Jack Sparrow- for a price, of course.

"Feast your eyes, Captain," Gibbs told Jack, gesturing to the men that stood tall with grime and dirt under their nails, "All of them, faithful hands before the mast. Every man worth his salt and crazy to boot."

Thea shook her head, arms crossed from beside Elizabeth, who stood between the female Captain and Will Turner.

She grumbled, "I do not see how this plan will work. Your cousin is most likely dead by this point if she is on the Black Pearl as you say."

"She is not," Elizabeth gaped, shaking her head as her lip curled back in fear, "Please, do not say such things. I cannot bear the thought."

Will's jaw tightened, looking forward as he said, "Miss Hopper is too stubborn to die at the hand of a pirate. Believe me, I know her better than any."

Thea smirked, head turning to the man as she finally looked past Elizabeth, "Ah, so the chocolate brown-eyed man is in love. How sweet. Tell me, charmer, have you ravished her in the midst of your training sessions?"

Will turned a bright red and Thea chuckled proudly, turning back to the line-up of men, saying, "I would have. Even her name is alluring; delicious."

"May we please get back to the task at hand?" Elizabeth huffed, shaking her head as her voice lowered, "God, pirates only think about one thing."

Thea's smirk reached her ears as she moved behind Elizabeth, hands finding her shoulders when she bent down and allowed her lips to dance against the woman's ear.

"Don't think that I cannot smell the lust off your sweet skin, cheri," She whispered, Elizabeth closing her eyes lightly as Thea's siren song echoed through her ears, "I am a siren, after all. Every part of me draws you in, Miss Swann. Choose your words more kindly, or you will be dessert."

Elizabeth shivered in both fear and fervor, Thea simply laughing darkly in her ear before stepping back to her original place to watch the men, who were speaking with Jack and Joshamee.

"What's the benefit for us?" A new voice asked, both Thea and Jack turning at the sound of it.

Jack slowly stepped over to the pirate that had voiced their question, Thea following curiously prompting Elizabeth and Will to do the same. The pigheaded Captain took the pirate's hat off that covered their face to reveal a woman, Thea scoffing lightly in amusement.

"Anamaria," Jack greeted, immediately earning a slap from the aforementioned woman.

Thea laughed under her breath as Will said, "I suppose you didn't deserve that one, either."

"No, that one I deserved."

The female brunette pirate then moved Jack out of the way, standing in front of Anamaria and saying, "Ana, cheri, how wonderful it is to see you again on this fine morning. Has the ocean been kind to such a... exquisite woman?"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes at the insinuation that Thea had already bedded Anamaria, brows creased together in anger as her fists clenched at her sides.

Anamaria smiled lightly at Thea, the blue-eyed siren winking before moving lightly to the side.

She looked to Jack, saying, "You stole my boat!"

"Actually-"

Jack was cut off by Anamaria slapping him again, body swinging to the side from the force of her hit.

"Borrowed. Borrowed without permission," Jack continued, turning back after a moment, face stinging, "But with every intention of bringing it back to you."

"But you didn't!" She screamed, making Jack speak excitedly, "You'll get another one!"

Anamaria growled, making Thea hum in delight when she said, "I will."

"A better one," Will explained, gaining everyone's attention.

Jack nodded, going along with the man, "A better one."

Will turned to the small boat that he, Elizabeth and Jack had stolen the day prior, The Interceptor, saying, "That one."

Jack turned to Will, voice dropping all excitement and amusement, "What one?"

Will eyed the boat in the background that laid on the blue sea, every pirate in the line up looking to the waterline in awe.

Jack's eyes widened in shock, not wanting to give such a ship away to the woman as he questioned, "That one?"

"What is the harm, dear Jack?" Thea teased, wind blowing through her unbuttoned white shirt, "Afraid of losing another ship once again? It's not as though we don't have mine. It is the faster than that poor excuse they created on Port Royal."

Elizabeth scoffed, saying, "I'll have you know, that is one of the finest ships in the Caribbean, Miss Salvatore."

"How sweet," Thea chuckled, lips pouting lightly, "You still believe that the people in creation of that ship were the good guys along with your precious town on an island you forced and enslaved people on. How heroic, Miss Swann."

Elizabeth only gaped for a moment before turning, stumbling over her own thoughts as Jack continued his conversation with Anamaria.

"Aye, that one."

The woman looked to be in thought, fingers running over her bottom lip that had been sunburned by the harsh rays on Tortuga.

"What's say you?" Jack asked after a moment, earning a cheerful noise from the crew on the deck, "Aye."'

Anamaria stole her hat back from Jack before walking away with the crew, Gibbs looking to his friend.

"No, no. It's frightful bad luck to bring a woman aboard, sir," He pointedly looked at Elizabeth, "Two is a death wish."

"Charming, Master Gibbs," Thea scoffed, taking Elizabeth's hand, "Miss Swann will be riding with me on the Black Swan. You will follow my sails to your destination."

She tugged Elizabeth along, "Come, cheri. You and I have much to discuss."

Will watched as Elizabeth turned back, nodding to him to tell him that she would be okay. The man only sighed, shaking his head to himself as Gibbs and Jack left him as well.

"This is going to be a disaster."

Later that night, Thea Salvatore watched the dark ocean lap against the tail of the ship from her rather large bronze bathing basin, water reaching her shoulders from being submerged.

Her rather amused thoughts of Elizabeth following her around was enough to let a quiet chuckle out against her fist. Of course, the woman was her soulmate, but idea of settling into a relationship seemed to be too much, years of patterns pitting her down.

She was never one to say no to a beautiful woman. It went against every part of her nature, and she knew the honey dark-blonde knew and didn't mind when she used it to her advantage.

Seduce the captain to get the answers you want? Thea invented that move.

Simply to only take the Captain's wife afterwards in his own bed.

The thought kept her entertained as she made her way back to her cabin where the aforementioned woman was, the Captain finding her on her bed, fully clothed against her wishes, idly playing with a wave of hair. Thea offered an easy grin as she sat at her vanity, not bothering to try and tighten her hold on her cloth towel while she shifted to grab her hairbrush.

"Having fun there, cheri?" She asked conversationally, earning a quick glance from Elizabeth, who only snorted in response.

"Yes, untangling matts from your hair is rather exciting," Elizabeth muttered in frustration, her own thoughts pondering exactly why Blake was needed with the Black Pearl.

They needed her and Elizabeth was determined to figure out exactly why. And why Jack Sparrow only wanted to help Will and herself after hearing his name.

Thea tilted her head as she ran the brush through her hair, raising an eyebrow in silent invitation for the other woman to continue her tirade. After a few moments of silence, she set the hairbrush back down on the dresser and got to her feet.

"Well, I don't seem to recall you minding that last night, cheri," Thea teased, padding over to the partition where her robe hung and dropping her towel.

She knew Elizabeth's gaze was following her, an odd amount of satisfaction coursing through her as she opened and closed her mouth in response before blushing and looking in the opposite direction.

"Have some decency, Thea!" Elizabeth hissed finally, fingers moving against one another unconsciously in anxiousness.

Thea grinned languidly as she pulled her robe around her, coming back towards the bed as she tied the sash around her waist.

"I don't recall you asking for decency last night either, Miss Swann. In fact..." Thea trailed off, sitting on the edge of the bed making Elizabeth purse her lips as she watched, "I believe it was you who practically almost jumped on me, was it not?"

Thea slowly began to braid her hair, chuckling when Elizabeth only looked at her in shock, causing her to say, "Oh, come now, you can't be tongue tied."

Elizabeth scooted a few inches back, matching the siren's gaze and holding it for a few seconds, debating on what to do.

She wanted answers, and she was going to get them.

Elizabeth slowly leaned forward and caught Thea's lips in a mock hungry kiss, the latter skimming her fingers up her side, trailing up to anchor themselves in her hair.

"You barely made it through last night. And I only pressed you against the wall of the pub. How will you take being in my bed with my insatiable desire, cheri?"

Elizabeth couldn't help but shudder as Thea gently pulled her head to the side, lips trailing up her jaw.

"I know what game you're playing, Swann."

Thea's voice made Elizabeth freeze under her touch, eyes snapping open while teeth nipped at the side of her neck.

There was a long pause before Elizabeth let out a shaky breath, saying, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Thea chuckled against her skin, pinning the smaller woman beneath her and sitting on her hips, "Oh you don't, do you? You act as though I haven't seduced someone to get information. Trust me, love, I invented that move."

Elizabeth was speechless as she watched the robe slide from Thea's right shoulder, her blue eyes splitting through her being.

"I know when I'm being played," Thea continued, taking Elizabeth's wrists and holding them above her head.

Elizabeth lips parted in a mix of protest and want, the only sound escaping a strangled gasp. She had never felt like this before, never believing she would when Commodore Norrington set his sights on her.

She had Blake to thank for that distraction.

"I will say, you played well and normally, I would be mad, but I'm more impressed. And I know you hear me, I know you hear my song in your head," Thea took her from her thoughts, leaning closer to her face making Elizabeth sink further into the pillow under her head, "So easy to get in that pretty head. Play me again, Elizabeth Swann, and you'll have much more than being frustrated to worry about. Soulmate or not."

With that, Thea dropped her wrists and sat up, Elizabeth scrambling to do the same.

"What?" She sputtered, clutching her hands toward her chest that seemed to never stop moving, as though her lungs were on fire.

Thea let her face fall into a mock pout as she stood, walking to the door and twisting the knob, "Have fun with that."

She winked, leaving her bedmate more annoyed than she already was.

The next day, Blake was sitting on a ledge that overlooked a port window, thoughts on how she could possibly jump from it and survive.

After a second thought of what the depth held that was still unknown, she let out a shiver, deciding being eaten by a shark that was twice her size wasn't necessarily worth it. Movement from the door took her from her thought, eyes settling upon Ragetti and Pintell.

Blake let out an exasperated sigh, jumping down from her spot with a hard click of her heels. Her arms crossed over her chest and raised a brow, waiting for what the men were going to say.

"Time to go, poppet," Pintell told, Blake's jaw clenching subconsciously.

She didn't know what was going to happen and doubt pitted itself as a heaviness in her throat. Will wasn't going to save her this time, and that meant she would most likely die.

"I have one request before you do whatever it is you are going to do," Blake admitted, shifting lightly on her feet, "I wish to have an inkwell and a feather."

"Why would you need such things?"

Blake rolled her eyes, saying, "As if a feather and inkwell would allow me to make a great escape. It's a final wish if, as I suspect you will, you kill me to break your damned curse."

Pintell growled before he begrudgingly left the room, leaving her with Ragetti who simply stood there, eyes crossing unconsciously. Blake filled the empty silence by smirking, head slightly tilting.

"So, how'd it happen?"

Ragetti looked to her, stammering as he realized she was speaking of his eye, "Battle. It's made of wood."

Blake hummed, lip curling in despair as she said, "Doesn't that splinter?"

"Captain says I can get a glass one soon," Ragetti smiled for the first time, allowing Blake to see his brown teeth.

She subconsciously winced, running her tongue over her own teeth.

How she longed to brush them after days of being held captive.

Before she could respond to Ragetti, Pintell walked in with a inkwell and feather from Barbossa's hat, placing them in front of her on the table that laid between them. Blake looked at it before she slid it toward herself, taking the cap off the inkwell and rolling up her sleeve.

Both pirates watched as she did do, curiously looking to one another as she dipped the feather in the dark, ebony ink. She licked her lips as she twirled the long grey feather, lightly gulping.

The thought of never seeing Will again burned her eyes, a cold sweat breaking across the back of her neck when she thought about leaving both him and Elizabeth behind.

She would never get to explain to him what exactly happened, how she wished they could have been together, or had the strength to simply not wait for him taking the first step toward a relationship.

"We don't have all day, poppet!" Pintell growled, causing Blake to lightly jump and meet his eyes.

She gulped, licking her lips as she said, "Well, deciding your last words is more difficult than it would seem."

Blake thought for one more minute before simply finding three simple words for Will, knowing she could spend all day writing over her skin to tell him how she felt about him. And, given the time restraints, she supposed those three little words would do, though they seemed entirely inadequate for her true feelings.

She blew on her skin to let the ink dry before pulling down her sleeve, eyes meeting Pintell and Ragetti's.

"Saying goodbye to my soulmate," She whispered, biting her lip before she walked to them, "Take me away, then."

She followed between them as they made their way onto the deck, the pirates restraining her in iron shackles. Blake flinched when Barbossa turned her toward his crew, his dirty hands pulling her curls back behind her shoulders.

Her jaw visibly clenched as everything in her told her to fight, a simple relief finding her when Barbossa placed Will's medallion back around her neck.

At least he would be with her when she died.

Blake was silent as she was lead to a rowboat, the pirates making their way into the deep cave nestled into the side of the Isla De Muerta.

A self reflection rooted itself deep within her, a white rage placing itself in the pit of her stomach. For so long she had let herself be suppressed by wanting to please others, protected others fiercely, and for what?

She was going to die anyway.

Blake presumed that dying in place of Elizabeth, or Will was greatly worth it, but the idea of never seeing either of them still made her bite her lip in anguish.

The woman was so disturbed by her thoughts that she didn't realize the boat had stopped rowing until Barbossa grabbed onto her upper arm, ripping her up from one of the seats in the rowboat.

Her eyes widened as the pirates began laughing in splendor, torches being lit as they led her through a dark entryway to their destination.

"Oh my, god," She whispered to herself, green eyes landing on an Aztec carved chest in the middle of an small island filled with gold within the cavern.

One of Barbossa's men pushed her, Blake grunting as his hand harshly made contact with her shoulder blade.

"Move!"

"Fuck off!" Blake yelled back, a guttural growl escaping the back of her throat when she looked back to the taller pirate, "I'm not in the mood for your shitty attitude."

Barbossa led her over a rock to the island made of gold, Blake carefully finding her footing in the small spaces of sand that was able to be seen through the treasure.

He stood behind her, Blake closing her eyes as the sinking despair reappeared, body pricking with a panic when he spoke.

"Gentleman, the time has come! Our salvation is nigh! Our torment is near an end!"

The pirates cheered and Blake could only look down toward the treasure littered around the cave, wondering simply if she could have had a better life if she only tried harder to regain it for herself.

"For ten years we've been tested and tried, and each man here has probed his mettle a hundred times over and a hundred times again!"

"Suffered, I have!"

Barbossa continued, voice dark, "Punished we were, the lot of us, disproportionate to our crime."

The crew agreed with a grunt as Barbossa kicked the lid off the Aztec chest, uncovering what looked to be a hundred pieces of gold that resembled Will's medallion around Blake's neck. The woman's eyes went wide as she now focused on it, thoughts running wild.

"The cursed treasure of Cortes himself," Barbossa was almost extravagant with his explanation, making Blake narrow her eyes at him when he seemed to treat this as a sport of fun.

Barbossa ran his fingers along the gold coins, Blake watching in disgust as his dark nails tapped on a few before picking them up and saying, "Every last piece that went astray, we have returned. Every last piece that went astray, we have returned. Save for this!"

The pirate whipped around and pointed to Blake, her eyes widening as his finger lingered on the medallion around her neck.

"Who among us has paid the blood sacrifice owed to the heathen gods?"

Everyone cheered.

"And whose blood must yet be paid?"

The crew of the Black Pearl all pointed their weapons at Blake as they screamed, "Hers!"

"What the fuck did I do?" Blake scoffed, "You are all the selfish pigs who got yourself into this mess."

Barbossa snarled and hit the woman upside the head with the hilt of his sword, Blake growling as her firsts clenched by her sides.

"You know the first thing I'm going to do after the curse is lifted?" He questioned, grabbing her chin and bringing her closer.

Blake's eye twitched, feeling the hot white anger that washed over her as he continued, saying, "Eat a whole bushel of apples."

"Allow me to be the one to shove them down your throat so you can choke to death," Blake managed to sputter, teeth clenching from the pressure of Barbossa's grip on her chin.

The Captain let out a menacing rumble from the back of this throat and threw Blake against the Aztec chest, her hands landing on the curved lip of the edge as she was now hunched over.

The Black Pearl's crew began chanting for her blood, Blake's eyes widening slightly causing her heart to clench in her chest.

Where was Will when you needed him most?

Her thoughts turned back to Barbossa when he spoke once again, gripping onto a knife made of bone shaved into a a curve.

"Begun by blood. By blood undone."

Barbossa ripped Will's medallion from her neck and grabbed her right hand, placing the cool gold in her palm. Panic left Blake for a moment when he placed the edge of the knife on her skin, a shaky breath leaving her when she realized her palm would only be cut.

A shiver ran down her neck at the realization that no matter what would happen, she would die, knowing she was not the proper one they needed for the sacrifice. Blake let out a slight gasp as Barbossa dragged his dagger across her palm, curling her hand into a fist around the medallion.

Barbossa turned her first by moving her wrist, shaking her hand open. The pirate Captain and the crew watched in anticipation as the bloody medallion fell upon the other pristine pieces,  silence then filling the room.

The man let go of Blake and she immediately brought her hand to her chest, clutching it with her dominate hand. Everyone was silent for a moment before one spoke.

"Did it work?"

"I don't feel no different."

"How do we tell?"

Captain Barbossa rolled his eyes before he grabbed his pistol from his belt, shooting Pintell in the chest.

"You're not dead!"

Pintell's voice shook, "No."

He then looked to his Captain, pointing an accusing finger, "You shot me!"

"It didn't work," Another pirate murmured, "The curse is still upon us!"

The pirates began shouting as Barbossa inspected the bloody knife for a moment, turning back to Blake harshly.

"You, maid!" He barked, Blake's face unchanging, "Your father, what was his name?"

He took hold of her shoulders, shouting, "Was your father William Turner?"

"No," Her voice was almost proud, a smirk lining her lips, "Fuck you."

"Where's his child that sailed from England eight years ago?" Barbossa questioned, taking hold of the blood stained medallion once more, "And in whose veins flows the blood of William Turner? Where!?"

Blake shook her head, spitting, "Long from here."

The man's fury grew and his hand connected with the side of Blake's temple, the force of his hit pushing her down the small island. She landed with the medallion and a wince escaped her lips, brows pushing together as she brought her hand to her head slowly.

Blake grimaced at the sensitivity on her temple, fingers painted red from the cut along her brow from Barbossa's many rings. Her eyes widened when movement caught her vision, landing upon Will Turner who was shoulder deep in the water off the man-made island.

He cupped her jaw, bringing his thumb to her lips to tell her to stay quiet, Blake nodding through the pain. Blake slowly pushed herself off the black, coarse sand, grabbing the medallion and putting it in her underdress before slowly stepping into the water.

Will wrapped his arm around her waist as they waded quietly, Blake turning lightly to see if Barbossa had noticed her absence. The man pressed his head against hers and Blake looked back to him, eyes lighter than they had been in days.

He was the first to step onto the new island when they had hidden behind a rock, turning back and grasping at Blake's hands to pull her up. She, thankfully, took his help, the pair's hands remaining entwined as they hurriedly left the cave.

Silence fell over them until they reached the cove, finding their way into the boat Will and, unknown to Blake, Jack had taken to find her. The man quickly oared them to safety, Blake's thoughts running wild until the mist of the ocean sprayed her face.

She looked up to meet Will's brown eyes, a curl plastered to her forehead as she said, "You came for me."

"Of course I did," Will finally spoke to her, voice soft. Blake's jaw clenched as tears gathered, "You came for me."

Will gave her a small, grim smile and Blake maneuvered her way over to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. Her head was buried in his neck as an overwhelming sense of safety came over her, knowing the man would do everything in his power to protect her.

"I knew you would," Blake whispered against his skin, causing Will to shiver and pause his movement, "You always said you would."

"I will always find you," He murmured, face pressing into her hair as he brought a hand around to wrap around her waist, still holding the oar.

Blake was the first to pull back, hand finding his jaw when a smile that Will could have fallen over the boat for graced her lips, "Thank you."

She kissed his cheek lightly and moved to sit back, Will awkwardly clearing his throat when she grabbed the extra oars and began helping him paddle to their destination.

Her eyes fell onto the Interceptor and another boat that seemingly was all black, confusion finding her when Will turned them toward that ship. He helped her up and a few crew members of the Black Swan put their hands out to help Blake over the edge.

She gave them a grateful smile and kept her bloody hand away, not wanting to disgust anyone. Within a moment of her feet landing on the Black Swan, arms wrapped around her neck, Blake grunting at the feeling.

She softened when she met the eyes of Elizabeth, a shaky breath leaving her lips as she instantly hugged back.

"God, I thought I would never see you again," Elizabeth cried into her neck, "Did they hurt you?"

"Yes, did they hurt you, cheri?" A new voice said, Blake turning to Thea Salvatore for the first time walk up behind Elizabeth.

Blake's brow furrowed for a moment before she shook her head, saying, "No. No real harm. They cut my palm."

"I can fix it, if you'd like," Will voiced, Blake turning to see him right behind her.

Blake unconsciously nodded and Thea said, "We will fetch you cloth and a bottle of rum. You know, for cleaning the wound."

"Thank you..." Blake trailed off, Thea finishing, "Captain Thea Salvatore of the Black Swan. Your cousin was in dire need of my help."

Elizabeth turned a light pink and Blake glanced between them, a knowing look falling over her as she said, "That does not surprise me. Thank you for your help, Captain."

"Please," Thea smirked, looking Blake up and down, "Beautiful women such as yourself may call me Thea."

She leaned in closer, blue eyes drinking in Blake as she took hold of her left hand, bringing it to her lips as she whispered, "Amongst other things."

Blake simply chuckled as Thea kissed the top of her hand lightly, the Captain squeezing it before releasing it back to her side. Elizabeth's jaw clenched as Thea turned to her, a knowing smirk on her lips.

Two could play at that game.

"Welcome aboard Miss Blake," Another voice said, Blake turning to see Joshamee Gibbs.

"Mr. Gibbs?"

He didn't answer, looking to Will, "Hey, boy, where be Jack?"

"Jack?" Blake questioned, looking between her cousin and her soulmate, "You had Jack Sparrow's help?"

"Unfortunately," Thea's nose wrinkled, "There is another boat as you saw when you came in, that is his crew mantled just for your help."

Blake hummed and Will said, "He fell behind. Now, I'm going to help Miss Hopper. You may tell the crew to weigh anchor."

"Actually," Thea caught their attention, Will and Elizabeth looking to her cautiously, "It's well time my crew and I leave. We helped you find Miss Hopper. Now we must go."

"No. What of us?" Elizabeth gaped, eyes holding concern and fright at the thought that her soulmate was leaving.

Thea simply licked her lips, accent thick, "There is no us, Miss Swann. You took advantage of someone who would have answered your questions if only asked. We part here."

"I thought..." Elizabeth trailed off, brown eyes glossing over as her heart clenched, "What of our bond?"

"It seems that didn't matter last night when you tried to manipulate me. Why shall it matter now pressing forward?"
