Demigods, Magicains, and Monsters
Annabeth
Annabeth had not slept last night, not for the discomfort of possible nightmares but how much work needed to be done and how she worried about her friends. She had made the right decision, right? To travel as one would draw far too many monsters but what is each group was overwhelmed by monsters and had no back up? It would be impossible to travel across the word in the blink of an eye, she did not care what had to be done in order to make sure her friends were safe.
Yet again, her gaze sweeps over the Camp, she wanted a future. One with Percy and her friends and perhaps- she places a hand over her hot face, it was too early in the morning for such thoughts. The sun was barely breaking over the sky when she walked out her room in a orange Camp Half Blood shirt that stuck out sorely among the purple Camp Jupiter ones, to think there was an entire camp out here in California that was oblivious to them. The thought still surprised her. What more was out there?
Hazel and Frank were the first ones she saw , both speaking to other members of Camp Jupiter. Campers she had seen around and who had fought hard in battle. Their eyes widen before returning to normal and giving a stiff nod, both Frank and Hazel give a shy smile.
"We believe in you," Hazel closes her eyes, "this will not be our last time seeing each other as we will need not only you two but the entire camp."
The boy, Annabeth glances toward the tatoo on his inner forearm, a legacy nods. "I- no we understand. You are the Seven on the prophecy, able to deny fate once now again. Even now you are trying to save us."
"It was only be temporary but Camp Jupiter needs strong leaders. Even I feel inadequate in Reyna's role." Frank places a hand on his neck, "They are relying on you. Both of you so find support in each other."
Reyna. Her friend's fierce smile and cutting eyes flash in her mind. To venture after the joint army, Annabeth grins, they had no idea what kind of demigod they were provoking. Hazel notices Annabeth first and gives a goodbye embracing both the campers and jogging over to met her.
"Today is the day." Hazel says tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear, "This peace felt too short lived."
"I agree." Annabeth nods, "Yet it was joyful while it lasted, I will fight for this peace again."
Her eyes light up a hand resting calmly on her weapon, "Yes, for more peaceful days at Camp and with friends is something I will achieve."
"Good morning Annabeth." Frank waves walking over, "Has everyone assembled at the meeting location?"
"I am unsure actually I just woke up not too long ago." Annabeth walks with them stretching, "Everyone should be up, maybe except for Percy. When he sleeps, he sleeps like the dead with drool and all."
"I heard you were talking about me, Annabeth." He says quickly from behind her, "I for one do not sleep like the dead or drool in my sleep."
She cracks a smile, "Really?"
"I claim both statements on second thought." He smiles, "Yo, Hazel and Frank you ready for this next quest?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." Frank states shifting with the satchel over his chest, "Still better then our first quest in Alaska, it takes me back."
"Same here." Hazel agrees, "But it's for the greater good, having Saturn and Gaia together not to mention the Egyptians gods is not good. I want to protect you all and protect my home, I will pick up a sword for that cause."
The future Annabeth wanted, Hazel too saw her vision one she wanted to protect. Annabeth throws her arm around her pulling her closer, she would protect her friends any time no matter what and their home. She thinks of Camp Half Blood and Chiron. She glances at Percy who too was staring back, for him especially she would protect.
Three people were talking in the early morning, one she immediately recognized as Thalia. She stood speaking calmly with her hair pushed back still damp from a shower. Seeing them she turns and waves them over. The group walks over, both Leo and Jason were present.
"Great more people are here." Leo says pushing his sleeves up, "Piper and Luke are the only ones left to show."
"What about Calypso?" Frank speaks up.
"She said she'll be right back." Leo replies back, "We were discussing strategy about the upcoming day but more so for the group that is leaving to purse the combined army, monsters finding us is one thing, we finding them seems crazy."
"That's because it is." Percy laughs lightly, "Who would have thought?"
"Transportation is one thing, and we have little to go on is another." Thalia starts a hand supporting her chin.
"A lead is that the army is in a nearby location that is at least for now." Annabeth says a hand gently clasping the beads around her neck, "They can not just pop up unless- the magicians."
Rebel magicians? Perhaps sending Carter away before was not the wisest idea but she did not want him or the others to be hurt as, she sweeps a gaze over the camp, there were spies she knew it.
"It's a theory, but I am not certain about anything now days." Annabeth confesses, "I want to protect you all and our world, no matter what."
The others nod curtly.
"Have you seen Luke, Annabeth?" Thalia asks softly, "No one has seen him since last night."
I'm worried, her eyes flash. Annabeth looks toward Percy who was talking with Jason. He spots mid sentence looking back at her with an intrigued expression toward her.
"What's up?"
"Luke is still not here, would you help me find him? He's somewhere in a Camp of Romans when during his time he had no idea that such a camp existed."
"Fair." Percy says, "We'll meet up in thirty minutes?"
"Yes."
"Alright. I'll get Piper." Leo announces standing.
Luke
He had spend the night outside after the discussion in the dining hall in where to go. It was a smart choice to split apart so many demigods away from camp, would attract more then monsters. Luke did not have a choice on going east toward the birthplace of the Gods, he would purse Kronos.
He knew it within the deeps of his soul it was the only choice. Sitting outside on the side of a grassy hill it was difficult to believe he was still alive. When he awoke this morning to a still gray sky it was a shock, he flexes his fingers he was alive. So was she.
"Annabeth." He mumbles as her blonde hair comes into view.
Percy was there also with a surprised look across his face, "You managed to sleep out here?"
He looks out thoughtfully over the area, "Another camp for demigods, I never knew."
"Yes." Annabeth agreed, "Camp Jupiter home to Roman demigods and legacies."
"Legacies?"
"They live," Percy starts taking a seat beside him, "long enough to have kids and there kids grow up here with the blood of the Gods on both sides. Like that guy that's taking over as temporary Praetor he's a legacy of Demeter and Hermes."
"Hermes." Luke repeats with a mummer.
Father felt to unnatural a term.
"The Romans build a lives for themselves here for generations." He continues pushing past the mention of Hermes, "You can go to college here and they have the War Games and stuff."
"Amazing."
"We're glad we found you Luke." Annabeth sits on the right side of him, "I cannot imagine what it must be like for you, the world is even more hectic then it was before. You are not alone, we are here for you so rely on us."
"Yeah man." Percy slaps his shoulder, "We are in this together, always."
He was hesitant but allows his body to uncoil ever so slightly. The camp starts to slowly awake to life, it was similar in some aspects to Camp Half Blood but there were also stark difference. The tee shirts obviously like the one he was given but also the ghost that flickered purple. He cracks a half smile.
"We are leaving soon right?" He turns to Annabeth.
She nods. "They are waiting for you back down the hill."
Despair had consumed him before but as he gazed out over Camp Jupiter, something else rises with the sun. Hope. Perhaps there was a better future for demigods but first- a lovely prophecy needed fulfillment. And possibly his blood.
The demigods stand in a circle facing one another, well demigods and- Luke glances toward the girl name Calypso. Sure she counts, he supposed. Gear. Weapons. Coins for Iris messaging to stay in contact when the Son of Hades wore weary.
"Saying my energy for absolute emergencies." He held up his hands.
"Losing is not an option." Reyna, the Roman demigod says evenly, "Our world is not the only the only one at stake."
"Stay safe." Frank inputs, eyes roaming around the ground, "You're my friends, I don't want to lose anyone."
Luke's been dead before. It was odd walking among the living. And he wasn't even him when he was brought back. He shakes his head free of those thoughts. Focus on Kronos. On stopping him. Rewriting his greatest sin.
"Why the gloomy looks?" Leo leans forward holding onto his suspenders, "This is the part where we hold our weapons in the middle and shout something."
"Like what?" Luke speaks up, surprising some.
He holds the short dagger at his hip forward. Others follow suit laying their weapons over one another. Thalia gently put her bow over the dagger, followed by Annabeth then Percy.
"For blue food?"
Jason shrugs, "Why not? For another tomorrow where we are all alive and blue food still exists!"
"For blue food!" The demigods echo loudly.
Thunder booms over head, almost in disapproval.
"And to the Gods." Everyone groans a little too loudly.
