Lady Lesso was sitting in her office doing paperwork as usually.The day had been more unpleasant and stressful than any before as half of her class failed yesterday's test on general villany.In order to try and keep herself from losing her mind she decided to have a few drinks while she did her work.She went over to a small cabinet where she kept her bottles of liquor and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and a glass.She sat back down at her desk and poured herself a glass before taking a sip.She knew drinking wasn't the best solution to try and relieve some stress but she didn't care as her students were driving her insane with their incompetence.

A few hours go by and Lady Lesso had just downed her seventh glass of whiskey when she heard a knock on the door.She groaned before mumbling a "come in".Madelaine walked into her mom's office and immediately noticed the drunken state her mom was in.The seventeen year old sighed and went over to her mom. "Mom?" Madelaine said.Lady Lesso lifted her head and smiled seeing her daughter. "Sweetheart" Lady Lesso said.Madelaine looks over and noticed the almost half empty bottle of alcohol on her mom's desk.Lady Lesso was about to refill her glass when Madelaine took it away from her. "I think you've had enough mom," Madelaine said. "Nonsense" Lady Lesso said as she tried to reach for the glass but ended up almost falling out of her chair.Lucky Madelaine caught her mom before she fell and helped her up. "What are you doing?" Lady Lesso drunkenly asked. "Bringing you to bed mom your drunk and need to rest" Madelaine said as she helped her mom to her bedroom.Madelaine helped her mom lay down before using her magic to put her in comfortable pajamas.She went back to put the bottle of whiskey back into her mom's liquor cabinet before going back to her mom's room. "I'm fine dear this wouldn't be the first time I have gotten drunk before" Lady Lesso said. "After all that's how I ended up finding out that I was pregnant with you" She said.Madelaine looked at her mom confused as her mom never told her how she had gotten pregnant with her in the first place.Her mom would always say either she just found out or try to change the conversation. "What do you mean mom?" Madelaine asked. "I had gone out one night to enjoy myself and got very drunk," Lady Lesso said. "One thing lead to another and a few weeks later I found out I was expecting you" Lady Lesso explained.

Madelaine was shocked by this revelation.Her mom had gotten drunk and as a result she'd gotten pregnant with her.She couldn't help but feel a bit upset inside like she had been an accident.She wanted to ask more questions but her mom had passed out.Madelaine carefully got up from where she'd been sitting on her mom's bed and quietly walked over to the couch figuring it was best to stay near her mom in case she needed anything.She grabbed a blanket and pillow before laying down.Her mom's words replaying in her head as she tried to go to sleep.The next morning Lady Lesso woke up and groaned in pain as her head was pounding from a hangover.Madelaine heard and brought her mom some medicine. "Here mom" Madelaine said as she handed her mom the medicine.Lady Lesso took the medicine and lays back against the pillows.She glanced back at her daughter and noticed the dark bags underneath her eyes.She also noticed how quiet her daughter was and knew something was wrong. "Sweetheart what's the matter?" Lady Lesso asked, looking at her. "It's nothing mom" Madelaine said. "Don't lie to me Madelaine" Lady Lesso said. "Did I upset you or something?" She asked.Madelaine knew her mom wouldn't stop questioning her so she told her mom about what she said to her last night.Lady Lesso looked at her daughter as she felt awful.She never wanted her daughter to find out about how she was conceived because she knew her daughter would feel like she was a mistake. "Sweetheart" Lady Lesso softly as she had her daughter sit down beside her. "I'm so sorry for telling you the truth like that" Lady Lesso said as her blue eyes met her daughter's green ones. "I just didn't want to hurt you darling" She said.Madelaine looked at her mom hesitantly. "Was I a mistake mom?" Madelaine nervously asked. "No you are not a mistake just unexpected that's all" Lady Lesso said as she wrapped her arms around her.

"I just can't help but feel like a burden to you mom" Madelaine said as a tear rolled down her cheek. "You are not a burden to me Madelaine. I adore you so much and I could not imagine my life without you" Lady Lesso said. "To be honest I was scared at the time" Lady Lesso admitted. "I was scared that I wouldn't be a good mother to you or be able to give you the life you deserved" She said as she placed her hand on her cheek gently. "But when I held you for the first time I knew from that day on I would do everything in my power to be the best mother I could be to you" Lady Lesso as she felt tears in her eyes. "Despite the bad decision I made that night to get drunk I'm glad I did because I ended up giving birth to you sweetie" Lady Lesso said. "You are my greatest joy in life and I'm grateful every day to have you as my daughter." She said.Madelaine smiled and hugged her mom.She was glad she wasn't a burden on her mom and knew that her mom loved her more than anything else.Lady Lesso promised to start drinking less which made Madelaine happy.The two decided to spend the day together and not worry about classes,paperwork or anything else.Lady Lesso's hangover soon went away and she was grateful for her daughter's care.
