So so sooooo sorry for the late update! It's just... School has started and I've been doing a lot of homework. Grade 7 is hard! I didn't have any time and... Ugh!

This one was worked on late. So expect some stuff that doesn't make sense in here. Enjoy!

This is (surprise, surprise!) AU.

"Screwdriver, please."

"Okay."

Jeff was fixing the Broken Tube Ness had found during their little exploration at the Monkey Cave, and (Y/N) was helping too.

'Now where is that screwdriver...'
(Y/N) wondered, searching though Jeff's tool box. 'Aha!'

(Y/N) took the screwdriver out of the tool box and placed it into Jeff's awaiting hand.

Jeff took the screwdriver and tightened the final screw, then stood up. "Done." Jeff said. "What is it?" (Y/N) asked.

Jeff always made the craziest looking stuff. (Y/N) almost never knew if they were weapons or just peices of art.

"It is the Hungry HP Sucker!" Jeff exclaimed. "I thought you already made one of those..." (Y/N) mumbled. "Ah, you see, that was just the standard HP Sucker. The Hungry HP Sucker takes even more of the enemies life force than the HP Sucker does and transfers it to my body!" Jeff explained proudly.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a Rowdy Mouse near it's mouse hole and he got an idea as he smirked.

"Observe."

Jeff picked up the Hungry HP Sucker and pointed it towards the Rowdy Mouse. The Mouse, feeling threatened, charged at Jeff but did little damage. Jeff then activated the Hungry HP Sucker as he drained the life force of the Mouse, knocking it out cold. (Y/N) also saw Jeff's little cuts heal before her very eyes. "Wow! That's amazing!" She exclaimed.

Jeff's P.O.V.

'Yes! She's impressed!' I cheered in my head. "But is the Mouse going to be okay?" (Y/N) asked, concern in her mesmerizing voice. "Don't worry, it's only unconscious. It'll wake up soon enough." I reassured her.

"Oh, okay." (Y/N) said.

She looked at the clock and yawned. "We should go to sleep, it's pretty late." She pointed out in a groggy voice. "Yup. Goodnight, (Y/N)." I said. "Night." She responded, going the room she shared with Paula.

(Timeskip)

3rd Person's P.O.V.

The next morning, Jeff showed his new weapon to everyone and also gave credit to (Y/N) for helping him, which made her blush.

After Jeff demonstrated what the Hungry HP Sucker could do on a mouse again, they continued on their adventures.

While the gang was walking, they came across a splitting cave. Ness decided that since the group was uneven, (Y/N) and Jeff would explore the left path while he, Paula and Poo explored the right. And so, the group split their ways.

In the left cave, (Y/N) and Jeff came across a dead end pretty early, and Jeff figured that this was a good time to confess to (Y/N) how he felt.

"Hey, (Y-(Y/N)?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure. What is it?"

Jeff's hands were starting to get sweaty.

"D-Do you... like me? As in... more than a friend...?" Jeff asked in a hushed voice.

(Y/N) didn't give an answer. She just walked up to him and hugged him tightly. Jeff hugged back.

"I guess the answer is yes, then."

Whew! Finally finished this one!

I know I didn't update when I said I would, and I'm really sorry. It's only been 2 days of school, but for both days I've had homework.

Guys, summer is gone and I really don't have much time, so don't expect me to update as much as I was during the summer.

Another reason this took so long:

I didn't know how to continue.

One thing I do when I write is go with my train of thought, then I edit afterwards if I need to. But... I just didn't feel emotionally connected to the story, which caused my train to stop and I couldn't continue. This also explains why the ending sucks.

I know I'm getting really deep into this, and half of you won't even care. But distractions, such as homework, can also cause my train to stop.

So sorry for publishing so late. If I don't do it now you guys would have to wait till 5pm tomorrow for me to publish.
