Tea Time

TRIGGER WARNING: SELF HARM MENTIONED AND SCARS SHOWN

__________________________________________________________

Amelia finally got home, exhausted from all the bullshit she had gone through. She unlocked her New York City apartment, trudging in quietly. She placed the keys in the bowl next to the door and took off her shoes, allowing her feet to go free. She noticed her phone was plugged into an outlet and was laying beside the bowl. It made her happy that her phone wasn't dead, that was one less thing her impatient ass would have to wait for.

SNOREEEEE~

Amelia jumped slightly at the sound of the snoring coming from her couch and ran to it, looking at the soft cushions with slight envy. She noticed two familiar blondes laying on each other, making her laugh. She didn't have to the heart to wake them, so quickly went upstairs to shower and get dressed. She layered up, since it was supposed to be a bit colder that day, and finally made her way back downstairs to cook some breakfast.

At the smell of fried eggs, France's nose began to twitch. He shot up, making the sleeping Britt on top of him flop to the floor with a loud thud. England was less than pleased at the fact he was just flung to the itchy carpet, but his mind cleared up quickly when the smell of bacon smacked him in the face. Both stood up and ran to the kitchen, gazing at Amelia making them breakfast.

"Good morning, sunshines~" Amelia laughed as she plated each of their eggs with a few pieces of bacon, "I already have a kettle on, in case you want tea. But, I just need a strong cup of coffee," Amelia poured half the pot into a huge ass mug that said 'I Only Grind Up My Coffee' and taking two large gulps, pouring it again. England ran up to her and took it from her hands.

"Amelia! Darling! You'll overdose on caffeine if you drink that much!" Amelia grunt and tried to reach over Britain.

"No, I won't! I used to have five pots by nine during the Great Depression!" Francis took the coffee pot and set it on the counter.

"Amelia, zat is not 'ealthy!"

"I need coffee!"

"Not that much!" England sat Amelia down. She looked at him with huge puppy dog eyes, making the normally stern tsundere crack. He lightly sighed and pet her head, "Francis, pour the dear one last cup. This time with a little bit of cream," Francis nodded as he got the coffee ready. He gently placed the mug in front of her, smiling.

"Take your time, mon lapin. We won't take it away from you, savor ze flavors," Amelia nodded and lightly sipped on the coffee, enjoying every sip. The kettle began to shriek, forcing England up to prepare his and Francis' tea. He then sat down, the three eating in silence.

The two Europeans had been scared when Germany told them that Amelia was in danger. They had been waiting for Amelia since the day she was reported missing, knowing damn well that her government must have taken her. Who else would want to take her?

"I love that it's so quiet, normally my mornings are bustling with activity," Amelia got up and quickly snagged her phone, pulling up a camera, "but it seems my elder children are doing a good job," she smiled fondly as she set her phone on the counter and kept eating. The silence kept on lasting until all the food was eaten. Being that Amelia obviously didn't want to talk about what had gone on, Britain and France concocted a plan.

They were going to take her shopping~

Francis finished up cleaning the last dish when Britain spoke up.

"Say, why don't we have a daddies and daughter day, the three of us," Amelia felt his heart leap, she's always wanted to have a daddy and daughter day. This would be even better since she would have two dads spoiling her rotten!

"Ok, sounds perfect. I'll grab my-" Francis stopped her from grabbing her purse.

"Absolutely not! We are going to spoil you today! Only bring your ID~" Francis winked and kissed her temple, making Amelia blush.

"I-ok," Amelia snagged her ID, some cash, a few different cards for around the city, and her lip balm. She put it all in a smaller pocketbook and put it around her shoulders, "let me know when you're ready~"

The two took her out and they went shopping at all the nice boutiques. France often styled her outfits and made her try them on, which led to a real boost in Amelia's confidence and happiness. The two bought her everything she wanted, including a puppy. She happily was walking her new mutt when they came upon a pet-friendly cafe. The three stopped to eat and relax since the poor dads had been carrying all the bags.

Upon finishing their meals, Amelia offered to carry some of the bags. But, the moment she went to grab a few, Francis picked them up. Britain gave her one of the smaller bags, giving her that look of 'we'll take care of you'. Amelia continued to walk the puppy with the small bag, while the two fathers carried everything. They were walking down a certain street when they overheard some construction workers.

"Hey there, cutie! Come on and give us a smile~"

"Look at those legs, talk about thic~"

"I could hound her harder than that pooch~"

Francis and Arthur felt themselves lose their tempers and were quick to glare in the workers' directions. The three halted all comments before the first guy spoke up again.

"Looks like a sugar baby is getting her daddies to buy her shit. I guess she's a brat. Ain't that right, princess?! You like having daddy's money around?!"

Francis snapped and shoved the bags into Arthur.

"'old zese," he spoke lowly and rolled up his sleeves. With one swift punch, he got the guy in the jaw, "'ow dare you speak ill of my little girl! I should 'ave you 'ung by your tongues! I dare you to try to talk to 'er again! You'll be sorry to 'ave ever been born, zat I promise!" Francis picked up the bags from Arthur and stormed away, gently nudging Amelia along.

Amelia felt her heart pang as they grew closer to the 9/11 memorial, wishing to see it. Amelia blindly walked towards it, gently placing her hands on the memorial fountains. The wind swept her hair nicely as she felt the memories flash. After shedding a few tears, she noticed England's arms around her.

"Love, it's ok to cry. We won't judge you, it was a horrible tragedy," Arthur wiped a few stray tears from her eyes and gently smiled at her. The moment is ruined when thunder sounds in the distance, forcing their trip to end early.

The three hurry back to the apartment, where they all unpack the bags. The puppy, who Amelia named Spark, wandered around to get to know the place. As they sat in the living room, Amelia looked out the window from the bay window's seat. The ran began to fall, the sound of small raindrops giving the room some noise. Francis covered her with a blanket and handed her a mug of steamy tea, allowing her nerves to quell.

The silence seemed rather comfortable, the only noise being the storm and Spark's paws clattering on the floor. Amelia took a deep breath, sipping the tea before she broke the silence.

"I remember this window used to have the most perfect view of the towers," she spoke softly. Arthur and Francis didn't dare interrupt, they let her speak, "that day was the worse day of my life. It was the first time in a long time that I ever truly felt unsafe," she cuddled her legs, curling into a ball as she continued to gaze out the window.

"Love?"

"Bush didn't even care about me the months that followed, he was too busy absorbing the sympathies to even notice my declining mental state," she laughed dryly, "I remember the year that followed 9/11, it was Hell. I had never attempted suicide that much in my life, and the only reason I stopped was because one of my kids caught me,"

The silence enveloped the room again, Arthur and Francis didn't know what to say. That is until Francis got up from his spot on the couch and went next to her.

"Cher, you can cry. We will never think less of you if you do," Francis gently guided into his chest, her back against his body as he combed through her hair. Amelia felt her lips tremble as she began to tear. She lifted the sleeves of her sweater, allowing both men to see the jagged scars that mauled her arms. The scars were faded, but still visible from close up.

"I tried so hard to make my people safe, I tried so hard to make my children safe, I tried so hard to make everyone feel safe. In the end, I did nothing but fail. My country's a laughing stock, I lost all respect I had the moment that orange went into the office. I'm trying so hard to make everything ok, but no matter what I do I'm just one person. I can't fix things that are too broken, and sometimes I feel like I'm too broken," Amelia's tears glomped down her cheeks. Arthur instantly stood up and sat on her other side, allowing her legs over his. He wiped her tears again and shushed her.

"Oh, love, you are not too broken. Every nation has felt this way, it's normal. You're just not used to having people understand how you feel. But, I do. Francis does. Russia most definitely does as well. Every nation has felt helpless, worthless even. But, we always had each other to confide in. Amelia, you must be the strongest nation we know to have survived this long without breaking down," Arthur kissed her temple, both male nations cuddling her.

"Amelia, you are so strong. You are a mother, a friend, and a superpower. You got zis way because you fight for ze good in ze world," Francis then giggled, "every nation deserves love, non? Allow us to show you zat we will never leave you again,"

"You never wished this emotional burden on your children, but we are your fathers. We would take every ounce of sadness in your life if we could. But, this is the next best thing," England hugged her tightly, Francis following. The two cuddled her tightly and allowed her to cry.

Amelia cried, she cried so hard she felt exhausted afterward. She had cried for over three hours before she eventually fell asleep in their arms. Francis and Arthur both felt her slump as she began to snore. They knew it was only a matter of time before she would cry herself to sleep. So, Francis lifted her up and put her in bed.

Meanwhile, Arthur called Germany and Russia. The three nations all made plans, and with the help of Denmark, scheduled a meeting in Copenhagen. They were all going to give Amelia shelter from the government that abused her. China even agreed to help hide her if it came to it.

The nations had just gotten a ray of sunshine, they were going to be damned if they let some power-hungry man take her away again.
