Mother
"GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!!"
Armitage flinched, lightly touching his bruised cheek. He could feel his hot tears wet the tips of his fingers. "P-Papa pl-please..."
"I SAID GET." The metal buckle of his fathers belt landed harshly on his back. "OUT." Again. "OF." Again. "MY." Again. "SIGHT." And again.
The small boy began backing away, but still wanted Brendol's love, wanted to make his father proud. "P-Papa, I-I did my b-best!" He reached out to him. "Pl-Please I'll do better!"
Brendol snarled, his breath smelled of whiskey. He grabbed his bastard son by the scruff of his neck and quite literally threw him out of the house, taking pleasure in the boys cry of pain when he hit the ground. "LEAVE."
Little Armitage slipped on some mud as he tried to get back up, he fell back to his bloodied knees and sobbed harder. "P-Papa pl-please!"
The door slammed shut and Hux was all alone wearing only his cadet uniform, now drenched with rain and mud. "Pl-Please...I-I'll do better..." he scrambled back to the door, calling for his father desperately. "P-Papa, Papa! Please!"
Servants wished they could open the door but the little boy was on his own, shut out by his father. Huxs sobs broke their hearts. To see a 7 year old boy get kicked out for some measly grade was so sad. The poor thing...
Hux huddled against the door, teeth chattering as it began to get dark. Wild dogs came out at night and he didn't want to be their next meal, so, he tried to make himself disappear by curling up against the corner of the door.
He knew he had to find shelter but he didn't know where. It was cold and it was raining heavily. The corner wasn't providing much protection from the elements.
Armitage got up and rubbed his eyes. He had to be strong. He knew the back door was unlocked. He went around back and opened the door, and softly called for his kitty.
One morning things got better when a woman walked up the front steps. Her anger was clear and she glared at the door. Brendol was destroying the smartest boy in the academy.
"Armitage?"
A woman knelt next to the boy. "Oh..Armitage what happened?" She asked, putting her hand on his back.
"M-Miss Sl-Sloane..." Hux wrapped his arms around her, sniffling and whimpering against her.
"Oh dear..." she could feel how wet he was and his teeth were chattering loudly. "Come on." The woman sighed and hoisted him up and carried him away from the house. "It's gonna be okay, don't worry." It was evident he's been out here a few days. He weighed next to nothing.
She didn't mind the ginger cat walking by her side. She knew that the cat was Armies pride and joy, the only being that could make the boy feel better. If anything happened to that cat Rae was sure Armitage would shut down.
The boy pressed close against her, tears mixing with the rain as he cried on her shoulder.
Once he was dry and dressed in warm clothes she came in with hot soup, letting the boy eat at his own pace. "Now, Armitage, tell me what happened." She ran her long dark fingers through his wet ginger hair in an attempt to comfort him.
He looked up at her with red rimmed eyes and tear streaked cheeks. "H-He beat m-me again..."
"I know, love. I know." She tilted his chin up. "He hit you pretty hard didn't he?"
Hux nodded, molted, yellow bruises covered his slim body. His cheek was showing the most. It was dark and looked painful. "H-Have you come to take me away?"
"No, but I'm going to teach your father a lesson."
