How To Get a Date with Calypso

Brian POV

I stared at the hottest girl in school as she crossed the cafeteria, sitting at her table with her computer geek friend Mac. I wanted her so bad. Not to mention we'd be perfect together, I mean I'm the hottest guy in school.

"Dude, I think you're drooling," My friend Liam laughed.

"Shut up," I growled. I didn't just like Calypso for her looks, even though she is as beautiful as Aphrodite. I also liked her for her witty, snappy comebacks and how she didn't care for the looks of the boys that asked her out. Sure she was pretty but that wasn't all she was, in fact it was even half of what she is. But if any of my friends knew what I really thought of Calypso and the fact that I actually had a crush on her, I'd never hear the end of it.

"Go and ask her out already, its not like she is going to reject you," Mark stated rolling his eyes, playing with his fork and the cafeteria's spaghetti.

"Why wouldn't she reject me, she has rejected every other guy that's asked her out?" I questioned.

"True, but you're Brian Bank, the hottest guy in school, the guy every girl and some guys have a crush and I doubt that your charm won't work on her," Mark answered waving and pointing his fork at me.

"Fine," I sighed. I looked over at Calypso and gathered all my courage before standing up and walking over to Calypso and Mac.

"Hello ladies," I smiled sitting down next to Calypso. I smiled at them both.

"We're not you're stalkers, they're over there," Mac answered.

"I know, interesting fact, I'm not a big fan of my fan club, I don't understand why they are so obsessed with me. I'm just a regular guy," Mac cracked a smile.

"You're the captain of the football team and you are apparently the definition of hot, according to them," Mac answered. Mac and I are somewhat friends we've been in the same class since kindergarten and it was only in freshmen year Mac and I stopped hanging out. She said it was because all my friends are asses and I couldn't agree with her more. Calypso looked up from her book and turned to me. She looked me up and down and said something I'd never think would ever come out of a girls mouth when talking about me.

"I've seen hotter," Mac started laughing

"Celebrities don't count," I defended myself.

"I'm not talking about celebrities, I was talking about some of my friends," She stated. Rolling her eyes, she returned to her book.

"Really? Prove it?" I dared her. She sighed closing her book that I noticed was in a different language, she pulled out her phone from her pocket. After a little bit of tapping and scrolling she showed me a photo of a group of guys. Each guy in the photo had at least a four pack, most had six, some even had eight. How do I know this? Well, the guys were shirtless, they were at the beach.

"Those are you're friends?" I asked. Even if I did have a crush on her, she most defiantly has a crush on one of them.

"Remind me what pack do you have?" Mac laughed.

"Shut up Mackenzie, I have a four pack, leave me alone," I groaned, slamming my head onto the table.

"Hey! You're the one who came over here," Mac stated, "And don't call me Mackenzie,"

"Don't worry Brian, my boyfriend, Leo, has a four pack too. Its not all about looks you know, its all about what's inside," Calypso smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder. I looked up.

"Thanks," I mumbled. It took me a while to actually process what she said. "Hold up you have a boyfriend?"

"Yes," Calypso laughed, "I'm guessing you came over here to ask me out?" I looked down embarrassed. "Its okay, I don't mind really, I feel bad really, you're the first one who actually took the time to have a conversation with me," I noticed Mac and become increasingly quiet. I looked over to her. She was packing her things up.

"Where are you going? Have you already had enough of the spaghetti?" I joked.

"Nah, I promised Mrs Jup that I'd help her set up the new computers in the library," She explained. Calypso frowned slightly.

"Okay, see you in class," I called after her but she was already gone.

"There's no new computers," Calypso stated.

"What?"

"I said there is no new computers, if there had been Mac would have not shut up about it,"

"Then why'd she lie?"

"I think I know but you have to figure it out for yourself. Now if you excuse me, I need to go to my locker," Calypso walked off. I frowned. What did I say that made Mac have to lie to leave.

"Dude, how'd it go?" It was Liam. He was sitting where Calypso was sitting moments ago.

"She has a boyfriend," I stated.

"Yeah you," Liam smiled widely, slapping my back.

"No not me, another guy that doesn't go to this school,"

"And you believed that?" Liam asked.

"Yes, what do you mean?"

"She was obviously playing hard to get," I groaned, this time I placed my head on the table, it hurt when I slammed it last time.

"No she wasn't," I sighed standing up, "I have to get going," I walked towards the exit of the cafeteria. I walked towards my locker, trying to think of what I said to make Mac upset. The girl was my only real friend in this school, I've known her since I was four, when she moved next door, we've been in the same classes since Kindergarten. Just because we don't hang out at school does not mean we stopped being friends. I stopped in my tracks. Mac left after I said I wanted to asked Calypso out. She has a crush on me. I changed my direction and started heading towards the library.

Once I got to my destination, I headed towards Mac's corner. Yes the girl is so frequent to this place she has her own corner that everyone knows not to use. It was where I kissed her in freshmen year after she told me she'd rather hang out with no one than my new friends and I. She told me that we'd always be friends and nothing more. I got friendzoned then but now I just friendzoned her.

When I got to the corner, I heard slight sniffling.

"Mac?" I asked going around the bookcase that hid the corner.

"Go away Brian," Mac mumbled.

"Why does this feel so familiar?" I asked. She looked up teary eyed.

"This is different and its not like you care, you obviously got over me and I should just get over you,"

"Mac's Corner, I don't I've been in here since freshmen year but back then I'm pretty sure it had a different name," I joked.

"Brian and Mac's Corner," The crying girl sniffled a little. I sat down next to her. She moved further away from me.

"What happened to us Mac?" I asked softly. "We used to be inseparable but now all we say is morning to each other and even that's rare,"

"You turned into a dick, that's what happened," she stated way to confidently.

"Well you encouraged me to become a dick," I retorted, smirking at her. She looked up.

"I did not!"

"Did too,"

"Did not,"

"Did too,"

"Did not,"

"Did too,"

"Did not,"

"Did too,"

"Did not," instead of bickering I did something different. I lent in a kissed her. She froze up in surprise and then kissed back, slowly melting into me. After a while I pulled away,

"Did too," I whispered.

"You have been a dick, you ass," she shouted at me. I laughed.

"Will you go out with me?" I asked her. She froze again.

"I thought you like Calypso?"

"I did but that never meant I never stopped loving you, so are going to answer?"

"Hmmm, I think I need another kiss to make up my mind,"

"With pleasure," I lent in but that's as far as I got before I heard a slight squeal. I looked over at Mac, who shrugged. I stood up and looked behind the bookcase. "Calypso?"

"Ahhh, hi! I just wanted to let you guys know class started ten minutes ago and I shipped you guy so bad. Wait did I just say that out loud?" I started laughing.

"We better get to class," I smirked at Mac who was staring at her friend. "You never said yes,"

"who said I was going to say yes," She retorted.

"I did," I scooped her up and kissed her.

"I think I'm going to die," Calypso whispered.

"What about your friends?"

"Who said they were my real friends?" I laughed

"Seriously, don't you care what people will think of you?"

"Who cares what people think. I thought that was your motto,"

"Good point," and she kissed me.

"Okay, I'm happy that you guys got together and all but seriously that's enough," Calypso covered her eyes, turning around.

"Come on ladies, lets get to class," I smiled wrapping an arm around both girls. We laughed as headed to class.
