"Saaaaaaaaaam!!" My voice fell into the forest all around me. Just then was I beginning to worry if the mutt might be alright. That young man hadn't followed me, thankfully. I preferred it that way. "Saaaaaaaaaaaaam!!" I called again; my twenty-fourth or so call.

"Hey!! Sir! I found your dog!!" The robed guy's voice informed. I turned immediately and ran back to see if he was correct. He better not just be setting me up for a trap; for his sake, of course! When I reached the one searching for me, sure enough, Sam was in the process of sniffing me out, a massive femur from that doomed skeleton clamped between his jaws. Once the mutt heard me, he bolted my way, nearly tackling me to the ground. Why he was so excited, I had no idea. I pat the pup on the head a couple times, reassuring him I was alright. Then, I turned away from the stranger, ready to leave. "Dude, not even a thanks?!" The stranger scoffed behind me. I tried to ignore him, but he was awfully persistent. "Look, here, I get it.. just, I need-" He foolishly tried to walk up to me and place a hand on my shoulder. Only this time, I wasn't the one to snap at him. Sam's agitated bark caught the man off guard, giving him just enough time to step back before the mutt jumped at him. I smiled slightly as I began walking away. Looks like Sam was going to be a lot more helpful than I originally anticipated. "Woah! Sam, you were just- ...You know what -- nevermind! Good luck, lads, because you're going to need it!"

I spun halfway around, mildly annoyed. "Alright, so what is it you are trying to warn me of? Just say it. No need to make it a mystery."

"Monsters, duh! This place is full of 'em! And with such a highly concentrated amount in this forest, I can bet there have to be some hidden bases around here too! Who knows, Herobrine himself might be lurking in this forest.."

"And what exactly makes you sound so obsessed with the guy: Herobrine?" I crossed my arms.

     "I..'d prefer avoid him."

"Fair enough." That didn't exactly answer my question.

"And what kind of question is that?!"

"Just wondering if you were one of those Herobrine hunters or something. They tend to get a little koo-koo in the head after a while."

"Pff! No, I'm not one of those! I don't hunt any person or group in particular; just whoever is stirring up the most trouble. The name's 303. Entity..303." Again, the younger man offered his hand. I just looked down at it briefly.

"I'm Steven.... Steven Rogers." Just putting together the first two names that came to mind, I too created my fake persona.

     "Well then, Rogers... See you...never?"

"Never." Was my solid answer. Awkwardly, the other man nodded, pulling himself back and keeping himself from saying anymore as he fell back into the forest. Finally, hearing no more, I sighed. Finally, I could continue in peace. ...That man did have a point, though. With so many mobs in this forest, there had to have been at least a couple bases to hide them all during the day, giving them shelter when no caves could be found. And since I knew they were hunting for me...I knew it was about time I finally shifted from defensive, to offensive. About time I finally took things into my own two hands again. Vengeance for trying to kill me also sounded nice.

That next day was difficult, to put it lightly. Within the span of five hours I whittled a sloppy wooden pickaxe, used it only once to dig some decent looking stones out from a small riverbank, and crafted myself my very first hand-made sword. --All my previous swords were just ones I had grabbed from my fallen enemies.-- next I tyed together several vines to make one thick leash so Sam would stay in one place when I was gone; and not used against me like last time. And for the rest of the day, I napped. Preparing as much energy as possible for the event upcoming was probably the second most important step yet. The first: making sure I had something to eat beforehand, of course.

After waking from the long, uncomfortable nap, I and Sam caught a few more fish to grill on the fire. This time, as I cooked, I fanned the smoke. Pretty soon, there was a large grey pillar of smoke rising above us. All I could do was hope the monsters could see it. Then, they would take note of it and come my way as soon as possible. All I would have to do is follow their trail back to wherever they had come from. And if it was a base, consider me lucky.

-----------------------------------------------

A skeleton ran at full speed through the forest, tripping easily over the smallest of objects. No one was left alive behind it. Their voices had all but fizzled out ages ago. I stood among the trees, closing sliding behind a tree every time the monster craned its neck. It couldn't know I was still following. So badly I wanted to make this easier on myself by teleporting around. The energy needed for it was practically begging to be used for such purpose, but I pushed thst aside. I still had so little. I would need as much as possible for what was to come. I would stalk through the shadows, striding, and even bolting at times when the skeleton made some good progress through the shrubs. In a way I was glad I walked, for every now and then I would step on a stick, keeping the skeleton alert and afraid...its senses elsewhere.

Eventually, there was light up ahead, and the skeleton broke through the trees ahead of me, freezing in place. The walking pile of bones picked up concern, to my surprise, and ran off to the side, also away from camp. I didn't know why, until I heard their screams.

Several tents were on fire, the green branches which covered them only kindle for the raging flames. Zombies, skeletons, and even a large majority of pigmen, all scattered through the forest. In the very center was that young man, that kid, that absolute child. Entity303 stood in the center, holding a torch, only occasionally killing the mobs when they came to fight him. Was he on their side or something?! Why on earth would he let a single one of them survive?! He also looked a little overwhelmed though there really wasn't that much going on. Was it the fire? Angered thst these monsters would quickly escape and warn the others, I charged towards the chaos. I stuck to the edges of the small camp, killing as many who tried to escape as possible, though still, so many were escaping. This Entity303 really had no experience in killing droves of people correcrly, did he?

There were little monsters left, and out of spite I wrapped my grip around one of the last skeletons' thin neck, dragging it to the center of camp kicking and screaming. Entity303 finally noticed me as I approached him.

     "Steven...?"

"You're doing this all wrong.." I growled. "That isn't how you kill monsters. This is." As a deminstration, I threw the skeleton onto the ground and stomped it's skull into fractions, killing it instantly. Entity303 jumped away, taken back by my brutal gesture. Perhaps I shouldn't have done that...

"Yh- you just killed it!" The robed one sounded surprised, pointing down at the now dead skeleton.

     "And?... They are our enemies."

"Yeah but- you don't have to kill all of them! I was just trying to send a message!"

"Starting a war is what you were doing! Here I am trying to end it! Letting them live never leads to peace. You need to kill the conflict at its source." I schooled the younger man. I watched as the robed one's form visibly shivered at the perspective I had lived-out as long as I could remember. "By the way, how did you find this base so quickly?"

"Oh, I can easily detect when mobs are nearby, especially when they are in large groups. Always have been able to do that. It's easy to track them down for me." He told me, a little humble pride (if that is even possible) showing through a small smile. My brow rose in curiosity. Oh, so he had powers, too? Maybe it was worth some time studying this new character afterall..? "Uhh, where's your dog?" He then asked me.

"Oh, I told him to stay put. He's patiently waiting for my return." I answered, the pride of a dog owner in my eyes, though it didn't last long.

Rroof!

Sam came running up behind me, leaping out from the forest, the chewed up vine dragging behind him. I sighed slightly as he approached us. At least he hadn't showed up when the battle was raging. Now, not a soul but us were around, and the fire had dwindled to nearly nothing with no more tent or foliage for them to live on. The sun was just beginning to rise. Had it really been that long since it went down? The night went by so quickly!

"Tell you wnat." I began. "You lead me to their forts, and I'll immobilize the troops."

"Immobilize?" Entity303 could see I was trying to sugarcoat what was to him a massacre.

"You know what I mean." I crossed my arms. "You know how to find them quickly, and I know how to take them out quickly. With our combined strengths..." Oh Netherite, I was actually talking about teaming up, wasn't I? "we could eliminate all their bases in record time." ...Of course, burning down the entire forest to nothing but bone and ash was another option, but in no way was I up for that. Still practically useless according to my old standards. Entity303 thought for a moment, I trying not to get annoyed by his free willed behavior -- actually thinking over my proposal like the equal that I apparently am. O'Day was not the day for a god complex, however. I still needed him to help me eradicate all the monsters hunting me down.

"Hmmm, yeah, that could work. However, I need one thing from you." The younger man pointed my direction. "Two things, actually." Shocked as I was that this young man was demanding something from me, I kept myself from just turning around and leaving, choosing to hear his "requests" first. "One, no killing the monsters if you don't have to!" Ugh, that would be so hard, especially since they all knew what I looked like, and would surely blow my cover. "And two, if you see Herobrine, don't engage him. He's all mine! Got it?" ...I almost smiled, laughing inside. What on earth did he think I looked like? Some insanely tall, raging monster, fire flying out my nose every time I breathed?!

I un crossed my arms, raising them just a little. "Okay, fine.. I'll try to contain the monsters...and... Herobrine is yours." It felt a little odd referring to myself in the third person.
