Colette smiled at Phoebe. Already Colette could tell that Phoebe was a nice person. Just the warmth of her smile and her gentle nature told her that much.

"I.. Uh.. Wondered if you could help me."

Phoebe smiles "Sure, What with exactly?."

Colette looks at her sadly thinking all of a sudden she hadn't thought all this through.

Phoebe looks at her with concern. "Is everything okay?... Your not in any trouble or anything are you."

Colette shakes her head in reply. "No nothing like that.. I came here as a stowaway on a ferry and stupidly I haven't thought this through.. I don't even have any money or somewhere to live."

Phoebe sighs "Oh honey, did you run away?.. Surely things can't be that bad at home."

Colette shrugs in reply. "Truthfully no.. Everything is fine.. I just wanted a bit of freedom .. I guess."

Phoebe grinned. "It was more of an impulsive, spontaneous moment huh?.. Believe me I know the feeling."

Colette looked at her wide eyed in surprised happy that finally she found someone that cared and that understood. "So can you help me?."

Phoebe nodded. "Sure.. You can come and stay with me and my sisters until you get back on your feet."

Colette sighs "I don't want to put you out..What if I never get back on my feet?."

Phoebe touched Colette's shoulder gently. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.. If it ever happens that is."

Colette nodded gratefully. "Thanks."

Phoebe smiled. "No problem.. Now let's get you settled."

Phoebe turned toward Elise's office. "I'm sorry Elise, I have to go home.. I have a family emergency."

Elise sighs "Not another family emergency.. Your lucky that your too valuable to this newspaper and I can't afford to replace you because your so good at your job."

Phoebe smiles "Thank you Elise."

As she turns to leave. Elise gets up from her desk and grabs her arm. "But.. If the situation was different then I'd sack you on the spot but since I've come to know you and appreciate your talents.. I would never do that."

Phoebe nodded. " I understand Elise."

Elise smiles. "Not every boss is as nice as me.. Remember that..Go and sort out your family emergency but I still expect the morning edition on my desk by morning."

Phoebe nodded. "Elise.. When have I ever let you down."

Phoebe takes Colette by her hand and takes her out of the building and into her car.
