(SCENE: OUTSIDE OF UA HIGH SCHOOL) (POV: OSCAR)

Me and Raiden returned to UA after our meeting with the President of the Hero Public Safety Commission. It wasn't easy, due to the various people present & some heroes not wanting to work with us, but eventually we managed to work out a deal that'll benefit us both.

When we arrived, we found Liu Kang & Miruko training with one another. "Liu Kang, Miruko." I called out, stopping their training and drawing their attention. "Lord Raiden, Oscar, you've returned." Liu Kang says while Miruko was checking me out.

"Indeed. The negotiations between us and the Heroes were a bit difficult due to certain individuals. But we managed to resolve that issue and establish a partnership with one another." Raiden explains as we started walking towards the room where the rest of our group is. "How did your mission go?" I asked as Liu Kang and Miruko flinched at this.

"It went horribly. We failed to stop our enemies from stealing a bit of the Dragon Grotto's waters." Miruko says as Liu Kang follows up afterwards. "But the biggest loss of all is Shiketsu & the Wu Shi. The Netherrealm & Villains have massacred the monks, the students, the teachers and even the Heroes who graduated from it have lost their lives." Liu Kang explains as Raiden and I adopted grim expressions.

"By the Elder Gods." Raiden says as I turn my expression from a grim one to a compassionate one. "Raiden, go to Nezu and brief him. I'll go and try to comfort Camie & Fuyumi." I said. "Of course." Raiden says as I left to find Camie & Fuyumi and help comfort them.

(SCENE CHANGE: UA DORM ROOMS)

I carefully walked to the UA Dorm Rooms without bumping into any pest, like that unneutered chihuahua or my former crappy excuse of a teacher. I walked down the hall until I spot Miruko waiting outside of the door with an worried look on her face.

"Hey, Miruko." I said, making my presence known as she turns to me. "Hey." She says as she takes a closer look at me. "Your that kid that use to go here, but mysteriously vanished. Can you please tell me what the hell is going on here?" She asks as I sigh at this.

"Honestly? I don't have much of an idea either. The only one I know of that can alter time & space is Kronika, but she's on our side. And she doesn't have any other counterparts or evil twins that I know of, so me and the others are stumped." I explained as Miruko sighs at this. "Great. As if normal villains & criminals weren't bad enough, now we have to deal with conquering psychos, evil wizards, monsters and demons??? Man, at this point, I should just retire." Miruko says as I was surprised at this a bit.

Miruko. THE Miruko, who would rather die then give up, wishes to retire. "Look, I know this all confusing and stressful for everyone, especially to someone who witnessed near countless dead bodies, but we need to be in this together to survive this. We start separating and everything falls apart & us with it. I know you have issues with teamwork, but things are changing and we need to change with it." I explained as Miruko appears to be in deep thought about this.

I placed a hand of her shoulder. "You don't need to decide right now. Give it time and you'll learn. Now, if you excuse me, two young ladies need some comforting help right now." I said as I opened the door and enter the room.

(SCENE CHANGE: ROOM)

Upon entering the room, I can see nothing but pitch back, so I tapped into the powers of the owl to obtain their night vision. And with it, I found them curled up underneath several blankets & pillows.

Oh boy, this is going to be tough. But I can't sit idly by while people are suffering. So, I sat down at the foot of the bed as I conjured up a swarm of fireflies. "Hey girls, it's me, Oscar. I know what happened to you all and I can't imagine the loss you two must be going through. And I know I can't force you two to go back into battle. Those brave people were your friends and they gave their lives for both their Academy & a place they could've just left for destruction. I can't bring them back nor can I erase the pain, but I can offer some advice: use the pain you've endured and turn it into fuel, but don't twist it to vengeance. It and Justice aren't always the same thing and it can turn people into horrible monsters. I should know; Hanzo Hasashi allowed his vengeance to consume him and it burned him severely, transforming him into a monster." I warmly and calmly consulted them when the PA System came on.

'Would Oscar Luonto please come to the Principal's Office? I say again, would Oscar Luonto please come to the Principal's Office?' I heard Nezu's voice as I sigh at this. "Sorry girls, but I'm gonna have to cut this meeting short. Just remember what I said when you need it the most." I said as I teleport out of the room in a swirl of blossom tree petals.

The pillow blanket fort remains the same, but a little crack opened up as a firefly flew into it.

(POV CHANGE: 3RD PERSON) (SCENE CHANGE: PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE)

Oscar appeared in the office in a swirl of petals as he sees Raiden, Fujin, Nezu, Sonya, Sindel & Cassie talking with one another. "I'm here. What's going on?" Oscar asks, walking towards them. "Nothing much, just discussing strategies." Cassie says as Oscar joins them.

He sees the various enemies setting up bases all over the world. "The heroes of those locations are trying to contain and control them, but it's a standstill." Nezu explains. "Even with the information we gave them, the heroes can't keep this up forever." Sonya adds on.

"Perhaps we can spare a few of our own to help?" Oscar suggested. "Possibly. But we don't know who should go where." Raiden says. "Not to mention we have another issue." Nezu says as he brings up a holographic projection of an island.

"This is Shield Island. I sent a drone over there and I discovered the Island has been taken over by enemies of yours: Sektor & Daegon." Nezu explains. "Sektor & Daegon. Damnit, those two were dangerous separately. But both of them together are twice as deadly." Oscar says as Sonya nods in agreement.

"Agreed. Not to mention they're abducting people for their experiments. Grandmaster Sub-Zero reported heavy losses to his Lin Kuei clan. No doubt it's Sektor, rebuilding his own clan of Cyber Lin Kuei." Sonya explains. "All made to serve Sektor & his new master." Raiden adds on.

"We need to shut down their operation." Oscar says. "Already ahead of you. Sub-Zero & Frost have gone up ahead to destroy the factory. Grandmaster Hasashi will join them soon." Cassie explains. "And Izuku & Gran Torino are accompanying them, since they know the Island well." Nezu adds on as Oscar turns to Nezu.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, I trust Izuku, but Gran Torino? I'm not so sure." Oscar says with skepticism as Cassie place a comforting on his shoulder. "It's okay, babe. Trust Nezu." She says.

(SCENE CHANGE: SHIELD ISLAND)

Meanwhile, Shield Island have become reinforced with new defense mechanisms and Cyber Lin Kuei soldiers patrolling the area. Across several buildings, Sub-Zero and Frost arrived on the island via a spy boat & have gotten onto higher ground.

Frost crouched on the ground while Sub-Zero got onto his stomach as he pulled out a telescope to survey the situation. Frost pulled out a pair of binoculars and copied Sub-Zero's actions.

But, a Chinese man crept up behind them and draw his sword as they turned around to face the man. "Your hearing is failing, Sub-Zero." He says as Sub-Zero smirks at this. "I recognized your footsteps, Hanzo." Sub-Zero says, confirming the man's identity as Hanzo Hasashi, formerly Scorpion. "Plus, the scent from your Fire Gardens still lingers on you." Frost added on as Hanzo chuckled a bit at this but quickly changes his demeanor to a serious one.

"Where's Sektor? I will let him to threaten my clan again." Hanzo asks as he sheathes his sword. Sub-Zero gets up and points towards the main building. "This Island, based upon the reports of the people of this world, claims to be the #1 manufacturers in all matters of robotics & advanced technological equipment. For a long time, it worked with the Heroes of this world. But due to the merging of time & space, it's now overrun by Cyber Lin Kuei & Red Dragon. They're now abducting people and turning them into mindless slaves for their master, which includes my kidnapped Lin Kuei warriors." Sub-Zero explains.

Suddenly, a portal appears as Izuku (in his hero suit), Gran Torino (in his hero suit) & Taven emerged from it. "Which is why you need our help. No one knows this Island better then me & Izuku do." Gran Torino says. "Very well. But you will listen to us. You are no longer dealing with petty criminals & villains anymore. You are now facing against threats with no quarrels in killing any and all life that stands against them." Sub-Zero says as he points to an entrance where many Cyber Lin Kuei are gathered.

"We could enter through there, but a frontal assault would be-" Sub-Zero says as Hanzo cuts him off. "Bloody." Hanzo finishes. "Not to mention suicidal." Izuku adds on. "And needlessly dangerous." Frost says as she tosses her binoculars to Izuku while Sub-Zero hands Hanzo his telescope. "There's another entrance, less populated." Sub-Zero says as he & Frost directed their attention to an entrance with only a single Cyber Lin Kuei guarding it.

"And then what?" Izuku asks as he hands the binoculars back to Frost. "We get help. From our inside men." Frost says as Izuku was confused by this. "Inside men? Why are they?" Izuku asks. "You'll see soon enough." Frost says.

(SCENE CHANGE)

At the alternate entrance, Sub-Zero and Hanzo stealthily & masterfully assassinated the Lin Kuei sentry as the others watched from the darkness. "Whoa. They're good." Izuku whispers as Gran Torino nods in agreement.

They then rejoin the group as they enter the factory.

(SCENE CHANGE: CYBER LIN KUEI & RED DRAGON FACTORY)

The group enters the factory's main assembly line as they come across corpses. "Dear god." Izuku says in horror as his face starts turning a shade of green. "Yeah. Used to seeing dead bodies, but not of this scale." Gran Torino says in agreement as Sub-Zero comes across a Lin Kuei medallion.

He picks it up and becomes consumed with sadness, anger and self loathing. "Grandmaster, we will avenge them. Even if it costs us our lives." Frost says as she placed a hand on his shoulder. Hanzo mimics her and places a hand on his other shoulder. "She's right, my blood brother. We will avenge your clan." He says.

Suddenly, doors started opening up as the group hides behind some machinery. There, they see two cyborgs and a cloaked woman enter the room as they see the woman placed something into a machine that activates it, decapitating corpses, taking their brains and placing them inside of Cyber Lin Kuei.

Izuku & Gran Torino were forced to shallow their vomit at the sight before them. "Cyrax and Smoke are your inside men?" Hanzo asks. "They were converted against their will in their timelines. If we remove the inhibitors that enslaves them-" Sub-Zero explains as Hanzo cuts him off. "They'll turn on Sektor." He finished.

"All Cyber Lin Kuei are connected to a common network. Cyrax & Smoke can shut them down." Sub-Zero explains as Izuku looks at the woman. "But whose their friend? She looks kinda familiar." He asks. "I don't know. But for now, we need to concentrate on Cyrax & Smoke. They're the keys." Sub-Zero says.

Meanwhile, Cyrax, Smoke & the woman are seen talking amongst themselves when a double ice blast from Sub-Zero & Frost froze the woman as they ice slide out from their hiding spot. Cyrax and Smoke were about to attack them when Hanzo restrained Cyrax while Izuku & Gran Torino ganged up on Smoke.

However, when the woman broke free from the ice, her identity is revealed to the group: Fraot, but with a cybernetic body. "Frost? It can't be." Sub-Zero says in shock at the sight of the alternate version of his greatest pupil. The alternate Frost fired ice blasts at Hanzo, Izuku & Gran Torino, forcing them to let go of Cyrax & Smoke to dodge the attack.

"How could you!? Sub-Zero took us under his wing, he trained us & taught us everything we know. And you repay him by siding with Sektor!? He destroyed the Lin Kuei!" Frost exclaims as the other regroup with her & Sub-Zero.

"No! Sektor was preserving the Clan's honor, unlike this failure of a master when he made peace with Shirai Ryu filth!" The alternate Frost exclaims. "With our Master's help, I will usher in a new Lin Kuei & restore our lost honor!" She proclaims.

Sub-Zero turns to the group. "Keep Cyrax & Smoke alive. We need them." He orders as they nod in agree and goes off to battle Cyrax & Smoke while he battles the Alternate Frost. "There will never be a future where a dishonorable wretch like you will lead the Lin Kuei." He says with a scowl.

"You ignored & doubted my greatness, holding back my potential. But that'll change once the New Era begins." The Alternate Frost says as she and Sub-Zero battle one another.

The Alternate Frost's own abilities have fused with the Lin Kuei Cybernetics at their absolute pinnacle. But Sub-Zero's experience surpasses her technological enhancements. "You bring shame to your world's clan." He says bitterly towards the female cyborg.

Meanwhile, the group battles against Cyrax & Smoke. While Scorpion & Frost are handling their own, Izuku & Gran Torino are struggling against the mechanical foes, due to lacking proper battle experience against opponents.

As Scorpion & Frost managed to force the two back, more cyber Lin Kuei activate and join in on the fight. Sub-Zero & Frost took notice of their fast activation. "The upgrades. Are they of your master's design?" Sub-Zero questions. "All the better to serve our forces." Cyrax says. "So, you're nothing but pawns?" Izuku asks in disbelief at Cyrax's emotionless response to his slavery.

"We serve them while our master constructs the New Era." Smoke says as he and the other cyborgs approach the group. "Izuku, you and Gran Torino take on Cyrax & Smoke. We'll handle the Cyber Lin Kuei." Sub-Zero orders as he, Frost & Scorpion battle the other Lin Kuei.

"Izuku Midoriya & Gran Torino. Desist and you will be granted amnesty in the New Era. Resistance only beckons suffering & death." Cyrax offers. "Yeah, no. We'll never join you, the League of Villains or anyone else associated with them." Izuku says as Gran Torino nods in agreement. "Exactly. Now then, time to hit the snooze button on you overgrown alarm clocks." Gran Torino says as the battle commenced.

This was a tough battle for Izuku & Gran Torino, due to both their previously mentioned lack of experience & the cyborgs possessing hi technology. But the two heroes adaptability managed to help them catch onto the cyborgs attacks & fighting styles as they managed to defeat them. "We'll free you guys." Izuku says as the others rejoin them.

Sub-Zero & Frost used their cryomancy to break off the napes of Cyrax & Smoke, revealing their free will inhibitors. "Hurry, before we face more Cyber Lin Kuei." Hanzo says. "Or something else, possibly worse than them." Izuku adds on.

"They'll need a moment to initialize." Sub-Zero says. "We can't rush it. If we do, we could risk damaging them. Or worse: set off their self destruct modes." Frost adds on as she & Sub-Zero starts tinkering with their circuits and servos.

Suddenly, Hanzo, Izuku & Gran Torino were attacked by an invisible force. "Sektor! Show yourself!" Sub-Zero exclaims, believing Sektor is utilizing an invisibility device.

However, the appearance of a shadowy portal & a being made of darkness proved him wrong. Sub-Zero was stunned at the being while Frost glared hatefully at it. "Not Sektor, but I, little brother." Says the being in a raspy, ghostly like voice. "Bi-Han?" Sub-Zero questions.

"Impossible! Nightwolf killed you. You were swallowed in a Soulnado!" Hanzo exclaims. "You and I know better, Scorpion. We, of Quan Chi's creations, aren't so easily killable. Our master offers me a new clan to lead in the New Era. Its darkness will consume the realms." Bi-Han monologues.

"Not if we have anything to say about it, you disgraceful bastard!" Frost shouts out in hatred. "Grandmaster, you & the others care for Cyrax and Smoke. I'll handle your brother." She orders as if she isn't offering a choice.

Sub-Zero knows why she must do this, so he agrees. "Very well. But don't kill him. You are better than him." He says as he and the others tended to the cyborgs.

"Yuki, my old student. Join me & you'll become my second in command of my new clan." Bi-Han offers, but Frost shot an icicle at him, glazing past his face. "I will not join you! Not in this lifetime or the next! Your ways bring shame & dishonor to the Lin Kuei! And I will rather die a million deaths then follow you again!" Frost yells out in seething rage as she & Bi-Han battle.

Bi-Han's shadow powers received a major upgrade, capable of new feats he couldn't utilize before Nightwolf knocked him into the Soulnado. But Frost has grown as well under Sub-Zero's tutelage. Combined that with her rapidly growing hatred towards the former Lin Kuei, it granted Frost the win.

"Be glad Sub-Zero wanted me to spare your miserable life." Frost spat hatefully at the defeated Wraith as she rejoins the others.

Cyrax & Smoke awoke from their defeat, now free of Sektor's control. Sub-Zero helped them up as they look at their hands. "No. They ripped out our hearts, made us into machines." Cyrax says in horror at his current state. "I remember, all they force us to do. All the evils we've committed." Smoke says in equal horror.

"Your bodies maybe gone & your minds maybe scarred, but your souls are forever intact. I speak from experience." Sub-Zero assures them. "Kuai Liang? Is that you?" Cyrax asks in confusion. "What happened, Tundra? You look so old." Smoke questions while pointing out the age difference between this Sub-Zero & his own.

The others regroup as Cyrax & Smoke spots someone they know all too well. "Scorpion? You're human again?" Cyrax questions. "We'll explain later, but right now we need your help to defeat the Cyber Lin Kuei." Izuku says as Cyrax & Smoke agrees.

"We can disable their communications network. It'll shut down the island's system & everything inside it." Cyrax says. Suddenly, their moment was interrupted by a ventilation shaft being busted out.

Everyone quickly prepared for a possible battle, but once whomever was in the vents shown themselves, they dropped their guard. For inside the vent is Kenshi, Takeda & Melissa Shield.

"Kenshi? Takeda? What are you two doing here?" Hanzo asks. "When we heard Daegon was here, we requested General Blade's permission to go up ahead & infiltrate the island. She granted it, but only for a quick reconnaissance. But unfortunately, Daegon somehow knew of our presence on the island & used Melissa here as a shield." Takeda explains as Kenshi took over. "We were forced to promote our mission to help her. We managed to surpised Daegon & saved Melissa." Kenshi finishes their explanation.

"But what happen to David?" Izuku asks as Melissa's eyes started watering. "He's...dead." She reveals, shocking Izuku & Gran Torino. "That Daegon creep tortured my Father, right in front of me, in order for him to give Daegon complete control over the Island. He resisted, but that only increased the torture. Eventually, they decided to change their methods by...letting their men force themselves on me." She explains, shocking everyone present as she continues her story. "Though they didn't rape me because of Daegon's order, but that didn't stop them from groping my breasts & rubbing my vagina. This was the exact thing Daegon wanted to force my Father to hand over the island to him. Once Daegon got what he wanted, he killed him & even gone as far as to paint my own face with his blood." Melissa finishes her story as she starts choking up a bit and eventually vomits onto the floor.

The others were feeling disgust in Daegon & his group's actions & sadness at David's death. Hanzo feels the most sadness since he above anyone present knows the feeling of losing one's home & love ones.

But then, missiles fired at them changed the atmosphere as Cyrax quickly caught them in a plasma net. Everyone turn towards the direction the missiles came from to see a red cyborg alongside a bald half blind man exiting from a door.

"Well, well, well, Princess Blood Face, we meet again." Daegon taunts Melissa as she glares hatefully towards him. "Frost warned us you would attempt such an action. I did not think you were capable of such dishonor, Sub-Zero." Sektor says as Sub-Zero remains unfazed by this taunt.

"I'll stop Sektor. You all help Cyrax & Smoke." Hanzo says as Kenshi joins him. "And I'll try & keep Daegon off your back in the meantime." Kenshi says as the group rush off to the communications system. "Oh, don't leave yet. I haven't even shown you our surprise yet." Daegon says as he turns to Sektor & gives him a nod, who returns said nod.

Sektor pressed a few buttons on his wrist as several holes opened up in both the celling & the floor. Suddenly, several figures emerged from them & block the group's path to the communications network. These figures are half humanoid dragon & half cybernetic creatures, with the lead creature having a scar across his left eye & a mane of red hair.

Upon a closer look, Izuku seems to recognize the lead creature. "Wolfram?" He asks as Wolfram gives a small chuckle. "Yes, you meddling brat. It is I." He says, shocking Melissa & Gran Torino. "What the hell happen to you?" Izuku asks. "Well, after Daegon killed my foolish partner & claimed the Island, I pledged my allegiance to him and he accepted it. He even made me the leader of a new project he & Sektor created; the Tekunin Project. Combining the Cyber Lin Kuei's technology with the Red Dragon's hybridization of dragon & human DNA was just the start. But upon entering our world, their project reached a new level of potential, thanks to the Quirks we can develop. Of course, there was always a risk of someone being Quirkless, but thanks to our bosses, All for One & Onaga, that inconvenience was permanently neutralized." Wolfram monologues.

While Izuku, Melissa & Gran Torino knew about All for One, the entire group were confused at the mention of Onaga. "Well, this doesn't matter anyways, we've got a job to do and we'll complete it, even if we die." Melissa exclaims as Wolfram chuckles at this. "Aw, does the poor girl want to prove herself now that her worthless daddy is dead? How sweet, how foolish & how predictable. Well, if you want the communications system, you all will have to get past us." Wolfram says as he snaps his fingers, ordering his soldiers to attack the group.

Meanwhile, Hanzo takes the flamethrower blast from Sektor while Kenshi & Daegon dueled with their swords. "You started this fire. Selling out your clan so Quan Chi can slaughter mine." Hanzo says as Sektor stops his flamethrower attack. "He should have killed you, as promised. Now, I'll have finish the job that incompetent sorcerer couldn't accomplish." Sektor says.

"I killed you once for Suchin & I'll happily do so again." Kenshi says as Daegon mockingly laughed at this. "Oh please, you only killed me because I dropped my guard. I won't make that mistake twice." Daegon says as a fight between them, Sektor & Hanzo began.

This fight had much rage & vengeance between them. So much so that the atmosphere could be cut with a butter knife. But in the end, Hanzo's & Kenshi's rage to avenge their loved ones won out over Sektor's & Daegon's selfish rage. "For Harumi & Satoshi." Hanzo says while performing hand gestures. "And for Suchin." Kenshi says as he performs similar hand gestures.

They regrouped with the others, who managed to get past the Cyber Dragons. Unfortunately, Wolfram managed to escape amidst the chaos.

Cyrax & Smoke used their cybernetics to access the factory's communications systems. "We're in. We'll reformat the system drives & shut us all down." Cyrax says as Smoke turns to Melissa. "Which means we'll also shut down the island. We are terribly sorry." Smoke says as Melissa shook her head. "Don't be. My father & I would rather see this island destroyed than let villains use it." She says as Cyrax turns to Sub-Zero.

"This is goodbye, Kuai Liang." He says. "It is not the end. We will restore you. It is possible. I am proof of that." Sub-Zero says. "Please. Don't bring us back as machines. We can't live like this." Smoke says. "Machine or men, you both have the souls of warriors. As long as I'm Grandmaster, the Lin Kuei will welcome you." Sub-Zero assures. "Then until we meet again." Cyrax says as he, Smoke & Sub-Zero shook hands.

The group then moves towards a panel as Cyrax & Smoke rips it open, revealing large power coils. The two cyborgs then ripped them out, activating the factory's self destruct function & triggering a large system shutdown of all Cyber Lin Kuei.

The villains regroup around the deactivated Sektor as a tornado of sand takes them away. "They've escaped. We should pursue." Hanzo suggests. "Not yet. First we must get Cyrax & Smoke to safety. Then, we must speak with the others." Sub-Zero says as he picks up Cyrax while Frost got Smoke as the group hastily exits the factory.

(Here's Chapter 28 done. I am so, so, so, so, so, SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY!!!!! I wanted to get this done, but then new games came up & I wanted to play them, then other things occur & several other factors didn't help. But now I'm getting back into the groove & I hope I haven't lost my touch. Though that doesn't mean I haven't shook the rust off yet. Anyways, next chapter will be short.)
