(SCENE: HELICOPTER) (POV: ERI)

Once Ms. Blade got everything under control back at base, we rushed as fast as we can to the Sky Temple. "We land in 15 minutes. We'll enter the Sky Temple from the terrestrial entrance." Cassie explains as Takeda turns to her with a confused look.

"Why not go straight there?" He asks as I turned to him. "It exist in a slightly different phase of our reality. We can't access it by conventional means." I explained as Kung Jin turns to me. "How on earth do you know about that?" He asked.

"My Dad & some of my mothers told me about it while I was training. Said its in a different quantum state or something like that." I said as I continue putting in the coordinates for the terrestrial entrance.

I heard Takeda sigh. "What?" Jacqui asks. "It's just us. No one's coming to help. Either we pull this off or-" Takeda says as I cut him off. "We will pull this off." I said as the alarms started going off.

We looked outside to see the sky turning red. "Shit." I cursed under my breath. "What the?" Takeda questions. "Elder Gods have mercy." Kung Jin says as the copter started acting up. "Buckle up. Taking this bird down." She says as we got in our sheets and head down towards the ground.

(SCENE CHANGE: FOREST)

We landed in a nearby forest as me, Cassie & Kung Jin are fixing the copter while Jacqui & Takeda are pinpointing the temple entrance. "Okay, it should about 15 clicks that way." Jacqui says while pointing to the North.

"A moonlight walk in the woods. Another time, it'd be relaxing." Takeda says. "I wouldn't have pegged you for the outdoorsy type." Jacqui says as Takeda chuckles a bit. "My mother and I lived near a forest a lot like this. Really takes me back." He says. "Maybe after we wrap this up, you and I should go." Jacqui says.

And I've just had about enough of this lovey dovey stuff. "Hey love birds! Less spit swapping and more pinpointing!" I teasingly called out as I approached Cassie & Kung Jin. "Well, done my best, but my rotor ain't budging. How about you guys?" I asked.

"Just give me a second." Cassie says as she tries to fix the other rotor's, but got nothing. "Fuck me!" Cassie cursed as she stands up. "We're grounded. That shockwave fried leads." Cassie says. "And the rotors have been bent out of slight alignment. Can't fix that with the stuff we've got here." I add on.

"Then we need to get going. We're almost out of time." Jacqui says as we about to race off when multiple portals opened up. Emerging from them, Uncle Kotal, his forces, Empress Sindel, her army, Sonya, the Special Forces & the other Defenders of Earthrealm.

"Mom? What's going on?" Cassie asks. "Joining forces against a common foe." Says a familiar voice as we turned around to see Grandmaster Hasashi, Grandmaster Sub-Zero & their clans approaching us. "Shinnok has, not only demons, but also Onis & Orochis ready to lay siege on Earthrealm. We'll engage them to prevent them from following through with their attack." Grandmaster Hasashi says when a bright light shines above us.

We all looked up to see a familiar figure descending down. When the light died down, the figure reveals to be Mama Plant, otherwise known by Cetrion. "Lady Cetrion, what brings you here?" Fujin asks. "Like us all: defeat Shinnok & free my boyfriend and Johnny from his clutches." She says as she turns to our group. "Go now. Save the Realm like your parents, relatives & predecessors did before you." She says as we nod with looks of determination on our faces and took off for the Sky Temple.

(SCENE CHANGE: SKY TEMPLE) (POV CHANGE: 3RD PERSON)

The team stealthily arrived at the Sky Temple as they're crawling underneath D'Vorah's & the Revenant's noses. "Lord Shinnok is nearly finished. Soon the Jinsei's corruption will be irreversible." D'Vorah says to the Revenants.

"The invasion can then proceed. Raiden & his allies will be unable to offer resistance." Revenant Nightwolf says. "Once the realm falls, our path to victory will be clear." Revenant Sindel adds on as Revenant Liu Kang turns to D'Vorah. "Advise Lord Shinnok that the demons, Oni & Orochi are ready. At his command we'll unleash them on Earthrealm." Revenant Liu Kang says as D'Vorah nods her head and walks towards the Jinsei Chamber.

After she's gone, the other Revenants approach them. "Have you found Raiden's portal to the Heavens?" Revenant Kitana asks. "Yes, but his wards protect it. We can't break through." Revenant Shao Kahn says. "That is unacceptable. After Earthrealm is destroyed, we must complete Lord Shinnok's vengeance: invade the Heavens and destroy the Elder Gods." Revenant Liu Kang explains as he gestured for most of the Revenants to follow him back to the portal.

"Make war on the Heavens!? If Shinnok can take down the Elder Gods-" Takeda was about to talk when Jacqui beat him to it. "End of the world. Got it." She says.

"Come on, we need to stop Shinnok before we're all hanging around the Netherrealm." Eri says as the group attempts to quietly move pass Revenant Jade & Revenant Sindel. But Takeda accidentally stepped on a loose rock and lost his balance.

Thankfully, he managed to grab onto the ledge before he could pummel. Unfortunately, this caught the attentions of the two Revenants. Cassie, Kung Jin & Eri jumped out of their hiding spots and rushed the Revenants, in order to give them cover.

Kung Jin battles Revenant Jade while Cassie & Eri battles. "Have your parents ever told you what my weakling self would've done, had Luonto not interfered? Killed them all in a blink of an eye." Revenant Sindel gloats as Cassie & Eri glares at this.

"Including your own daughters? How does that make you feel, you sickening whore?" Eri asks as Revenant Sindel seemingly ignored her profanity. "And now, Quan Chi & Shinnok will do the same for you all." Revenant Sindel says as she takes out her Kwan Dao and attacks the group.

Even though the battle was 2-1, Revenant Sindel still proved to be a formidable opponent. But the fight was still a 2-1 as they took down Revenant Sindel. "Shinnok isn't killing anyone today, bitch." Cassie says as she and Eri goes to help Kung Jin.

While that was happening, Jacqui manages to reach out far enough for Takeda to grab her hand. However, the ledge gave out underneath him. Thankfully, before he could drop, Jacqui grabbed his hand and pulled him up. "I owe you one." He says. "I'll remember that, in case we survive this." Jacqui says as she and Takeda join in on the fight.

Speaking of fights, Kung Jin & Revenant Jade were trading blows with one another with their Bo staff & bow respectively. The two were evenly matched as they break off from their stalemate when the others arrived. "Foolish humans. Lord Shinnok will conquer all while you do nothing but watch & squirm in helplessness & agony." Revenant Jade says.

"Sorry lady, but we're not gonna let Shinnok win." Eri says as the group charge at Revenant Jade. She blocks Kung Jin's strike with her staff as she smacks him in the face with her staff. Jacqui tries to surprise attack her, but she parried the punch and smack her staff in the back of Jacqui's knees, forcing her to kneel.

She then stabs her in the back with her Glaive a couple times before she smacks her across the face with her staff. Takeda tries to attack Revenant Jade from behind, but she ducked underneath his attack and smacks him in the side with her staff, sending directly to floor. Revenant Jade then stabbed him in the back a couple times with her Glaive.

Afterwards, she kicked him onto his back and prepares to slit his throat when Eri and Cassie kicked her in the chest, knocking her down. "Sorry, sweetheart. But you ain't killing anyone." Cassie says as she & Eri battles Revenant Jade.

The fight was challenging, but the combine might of Cassie & Eri beat the Revenantized Edenian Assassin. "Like we said, you ain't killing anyone." Eri says as they split up and help Jacqui & Takeda.

Eri helped Jacqui onto her feet as she used her Quirk to heal her injuries. "Thanks, Snowball." Jacqui says, using Eri's nickname. "No prob, JacJac." Eri says while using Jacqui's nickname for her.

Once Eri healed Jacqui, she & her rushed to Cassie's & Takeda's aid. "Takeda!" Jacqui exclaims in concern as Eri started using her Quirk to heal his injuries. "I'm fine. Just give me a moment & I'll be back in the game." Takeda says as Eri was just about finished healing him when the other Revenants appeared.

"Stop right there!" Revenant Liu Kang exclaims as he and the other Revenants rushed towards them. Cassie, Jacqui & Kung Jin got in front of Takeda & Eri to protect them and are prepared to fight back.

But suddenly, giant roots jet out from the ground and ensnared them. "What the?" Cassie asks in confusion at what happened when a pillar of leaves rises up from the ground. The leaves started falling as it reveals Oscar. "Dad? You've escaped?" Eri asks as she finished healing Takeda.

"Yeah. D'Vorah tried torturing me & Johnny with bugs, but since my powers came from Cetrion herself, they wouldn't obey her in fear of her wrath. But enough talking, we need to stop Shinnok from destroying the Realms." Oscar says as he and the team rushed to the Jinsei Chamber.

(SCENE CHANGE: JINSEI CHAMBER)

The others arrived at the Jinsei Chamber to see Shinnok still in it while D'Vorah approaching Johnny Cage with bugs swirling around her hand. "Get away from him, you bitch!" Cassie exclaims as she and her team rushed D'Vorah while Oscar stayed to free Raiden.

D'Vorah proved to be a difficult combatant as she took down Takeda, Jacqui & Kung Jin. She brought Cassie down and was about to kill when Eri snuck up behind her and cut off her Ovipositors. Once they were gone, Eri kicked D'Vorah in the chest, knocking her down.

With D'Vorah down, Eri helped Cassie up. "Thanks." Cassie says. "Don't thank me until we survive this." Eri says as she & Cassie turns to the recovered D'Vorah. "Just as irritating as your fathers. Will you two taste the same?" D'Vorah asks as she battles Cassie & Eri.

D'Vorah's skills and abilities are the second toughest fight Cassie & Eri were ever apart of, but their determination and anger proved to be much stronger than even D'Vorah as they won the match. "You got squashed." Eri says. "You the bug, we're the windshield." Cassie adds on.

Once D'Vorah has taken care of, Cassie & Eri rushed to Johnny as they try to break him free from the orange webbing. "Hey Pumpkin, Unicorn." Johnny says as Cassie & Eri chuckled at this. "Little bit too old for Pumpkin & Unicorn, Dad." Cassie says as Eri nod in agreement.

"Don't worry about me, kids. Get Shinnok." Johnny says as Cassie & Eri stopped and looked at him with worried looks. "But Dad." Cassie tried to say, but Johnny stops her. "No buts, kiddos. Stop Shinnok, that's an order." Johnny says in a order like tone.

Suddenly, Shinnok floats down from the Jinsei. "So you are the spawn of Cage & my Niece? Fitting that you two will be the start of Earthrealm's destruction & the Fall of Raiden's resistance." He says evilly as Cassie & her team charge and attack Shinnok.

Even though it was 5-1, Shinnok's new form & power made him unbelievably powerful as he effortlessly takes down Kung Jin, Jacqui & Takeda. Cassie and Eri tries to stand up to him, but he blocks their blows.

They tried a strike to the head, but that only succeeded in giving them hurt fists. Shinnok counters with a punch to the face with Cassie & a stomach punch for Eri. He then grabbed them by their throats and slammed their heads together.

Afterwards, he threw them at the wall, cracking it. "That's much better. Perfect place for all humans: underneath my feet. Now watch, as I rend the flesh of your fathers." He says as he blasts Johnny & Oscar with his magic, earning pain filled screams from them.

Cassie & Eri looked horrified at their father's agony as they tried to get back up. "This is what awaits all who defy me: excruciating, exquisite death." He says as he fires more powerful blasts at them, causing their screams to grow louder. The two get back up as they started glowing: Cassie green & Eri a pale yellow with her horn glowing the brightest.

"YOU SONUVABITCH!" They exclaimed in anger as they rushed at Shinnok. He attempts to strike them down with his magic, but their glowing bodies seem to be neutralizing it. When they break the beam apart, Shinnok is seemingly pushed back a bit.

"Holy shit it does run in the family!" Cassie exclaims. "And it looks like training finally paid off." Eri adds on as she and Cassie turns to Shinnok. "Your powers will not save you. You cannot hope to survive!" Shinnok proclaims as he battles Cassie & Eri.

Shinnok's new form was stronger than his normal form & Shao Kahn combined and his magic is now twice as strong. It also boasted his ego to unimaginable levels. And his defenses have also gotten an increase as well, due to his thick rock like skin. He gains new abilities, such as pyrokinesis and others.

But Cassie's & Eri's determination and anger towards Shinnok won them the match. "You got caged." Cassie says. "And the only death that'll come is yours." Eri adds on.

The two girls started wailing on Shinnok, pummeling him with punches and kicks. Cassie knocked Shinnok onto his back with a backflip kick. Eri approached him as she grabbed his throat and lifted him onto his feet. She then shoved her hand into his stomach and grabbed hold of his amulet. "For my father. For Johnny. For all of the Realms we protect. NOW EAT THIS, SUCKA!!!!!" She exclaims as she rips the amulet from Shinnok's stomach.

She lets go of Shinnok as he fell to the ground with magma spewing out of his stomach. Suddenly, a bright blue light shines up from his stomach as it started pulling up from the ground while the glowing energy from his body started fading away & screaming. A suddenly force of power caused him to slam back into the ground, causing a small crater to form. He then started to glow blue, like the Jinsei pre-corruption as he continues screaming until he explodes into hundreds of chunks.

With the amulet in her hand, she uses both her Quirk & Shinnok's amulet to reverse the Jinsei's corruption.

(SCENE CHANGE: OUTSIDE OF THE TEMPLE)

Meanwhile, outside of the Sky Temple, the Revenants have broken free from Oscar's ensnarement as they see the sky changing back to normal. "Shinnok has fallen. We must flee." Revenant Liu Kang says as he was about to open an portal when his hand started disintegrating like dust in the wind.

"What in the name of the Netherrealm?" Revenant Kitana question as she feels herself disintegrating as well. "What is happening?" Revenant Sindel questions as she is disintegrating as well.

In under a minute, the Revenants have faded away into nothingness.

(SCENE CHANGE: JINSEI CHAMBER)

Once Eri finished purifying the Jinsei, she dropped to her knees while panting heavily as her horn have some cracks on it. "Eri!" Cassie called out in concern at her friend and rushed to her side. "I'm fine. Just winded. Need a moment." Eri says as she turns to Cassie with a delighted look on her face. "We got him." She says as she held a fist out. Cassie smiles and bumps it with her fist. "Damn right we did." Cassie says with a smile.

Suddenly, the rest of the heroes came rushing into the Jinsei Chamber with soldiers at their side. "Isolate D'Vorah. And get some medics." Sonya orders as the soldiers and heroes did just that.

Sonya rushed to Johnny's side as Cassie joined her. "Don't worry, I'm sure we can pick out the orange stains in your clothes." Sonya jokingly says as Johnny chuckles at this. "Sonya Blade, telling a joke? Guess the world's ending after all." Johnny jokingly says as Sonya fakes a hurt expression and playfully punch Johnny's soldier.

"Should've seen Cass & Eri. They've wiped the floor with Shinnok." Johnny says as Sonya smiles at this. "I believed it." She says as she turns to Johnny. "And you did a great job with your team, Johnny." She says as Johnny smiles and turns to Cassie.

"Hear that, Cass? She called me Johnny." Johnny says as Cassie chuckles at this. "I thought she might." She says.

(Here's chapter 24 done and here is the beginning of the end for the MKX Arc. Went kinda crazy with this chapter a bit, so hopes its still good. Anyways, next chapter will take us back to the MHAVerse to see how the people are doing, might also feature a snippet of what's going on with the MK Heroes during that time.)
