(SCENE: REFUGEE CAMP) (POV: 3RD PERSON)

"Good work Sergeant. Stay in Outworld until we get the amulet from Reiko. Once that's accomplished, return to Earthrealm." Sonya Blade says through her phone. "Yes ma'am. Cage out." Cassie says through the other side as Sonya hung up and stopped in front of a large gathering of refugees and soldiers.

"He's still here. I can feel it." She says as she spots Johnny & Jax approaching. "Report." She says. "Camp's sealed up. Kano ain't getting out of here anytime soon." Johnny says. "Also modified the defenses in case any Black Dragon scum wants to come uninvited." Jax adds on.

"Good. Now we just need to find them. Get the refugees ready for screening. Gotta make sure he ain't hiding in plain sight." Sonya orders as the two nod their heads and left.

Right after they left, two soldiers approached Sonya with a body bag. "One of the refugees. Found her near the north perimeter." One of the soldiers explained as Sonya unzipped it to see a woman with a slit throat and its tongue sticking out of it. "That's one of Kano's 'neckties'." Sonya says with disgust as she zips the bag back up.

"Contact Li Mei & tell her we got a casualty." Sonya orders as the two soldiers walk away. She then takes out a talisman as Raiden, Oscar & Fujin appears in it. "What'd you guys find?" She asks.

"Our worst fears: Shinnok's amulet has been stolen and replaced with an identical duplicate." Oscar says through the talisman. "Damnit." Sonya cursed. "Worry not, General Blade, I will trace the duplicate's origins. Hopefully to find the thief. Meanwhile, Fujin shall remind here in the Sky Temple to protect Earthrealm while I'm away. Oscar will head to your location and assist you in anyway possible." Raiden explains.

"Good, can use all the help we can get." Sonya says as she turns off the talisman. "Lieutenants, get ready for screening. Kano is a strong suspect in the theft." Sonya orders as the soldiers left.

(TIMESKIP: 2 HOURS LATER)

Sonya, Kenshi, Kabal, Stryker, Kira & Oscar were observing the screening. "Call me crazy, but I believe Kano might have a hand in Shinnok's amulet being stolen." Oscar says.

"Makes sense. Guy could steal just about anything if paid the right amount." Stryker says as Kabal & Kira nod in agreement. "Kano's greed & ego have always been his greatest weakness. We'll use that to catch him." Kabal says.

"Agreed. Coming from the woman that played Cat & Mouse with him for 25 years, I know exactly what he thinks." Sonya says. "But why would he return to Earthrealm now?" Kenshi questions.

"Most likely a botched job. Kano always returns after a failed mission." Kira says as Kabal nods in agreement. "All that matters is that he's-" Sonya says, but gets distracted by a woman that bares a striking resemblance to the one found dead.

Suddenly, a brief flicker reveals her to be a holograph, thus giving away Kano's location. "Caught. Gotcha." She says with a smile as she orders them to go in different directions.

The woman started sweating at Sonya approaching her as she was about to leave when Kenshi & the others stopped and surrounded her. "Oh sorry ma'am, did you need to get somewhere?" Kabal tauntingly asks as Sonya arrives.

Knowing the jig was up, the woman pressed buttons on her wrist as she reveals herself to be Kano. "Hello, love. Been a while." Kano says to Sonya, who shot him a nasty glare. "Not long enough." She says as she takes out a radio. "This is General Blade. I need MPs to my location immediately." She orders through her radio.

"Aw, let's keep this between friends. A trade! Info for freedom." Kano offers. "Sure, you give us the info & we'll free the Realms from filth like you!" Oscar exclaims as he takes out his swords.

"And even if that's the deal, I don't negotiate with scumbags." Sonya says as Kano smirks. "Well then, if mother & father won't play nice, maybe daughters will." Kano says as Sonya & Oscar got angry at this. "If you ever-" Sonya says, but Kano interrupts her.

"Back off and all's well. Piss me off and both Eri & Cassie meet Uncle Kano." He says as Sonya's & Oscar's anger reached a breaking point. "We swear to the Gods we'll kill you." Oscar says as he & Sonya tag teams on Kano.

While Kano's cybernetics have improved over the years, Oscar's powers and Sonya's skills bested these upgrades with Oscar delivering the finishing blow.

(Oscar's MKX X-Ray: Beastly Knight

Oscar starts the X-Ray with two strikes from his sword. He stabs his opponent in the gut with one of his swords, puncturing their stomach. He then stabs the opponent in the chest with his other sword, breaking their ribs and puncturing their heart. Finally, he leaps up in the air as he somersault kicks the top of the opponent's head, breaking their skull.)

"No, I'm not done with you." Sonya says as she approaches Kano. She then kicks him in the face and started punching him repeatedly as she then grabs hold of his neck and started straggling him. "Alright! Alright! Get off me!" Kano says as he struggles to breath.

Johnny & Jax arrived on the scene. "Sonya! Ease up!" Johnny exclaims as he tries to pull her off Kano, but she broke free from his grip and continues straggling Kano. "You kill me...never find...amulet!" Kano says.

Suddenly, two soldiers appeared through the crowd and took aim at Sonya. "Soldiers! Stand down! That's an order!" Jax commanded as Johnny tries talking to Sonya. "Sonya, we need that info. Don't make this another thing you'll regret." Johnny says, trying to get through to her.

Sonya thought about it as she lets go and gets off of Kano. "Talk!" She yelled.

(SCENE CHANGE: OUTWORLD)

Meanwhile, as the sun appears to be either setting or raising, in Outworld, Cassie & the group contacted Sonya. "The Kuatan Jungle?" Cassie questions. "With at least two divisions of Centaurs. They're on the move constantly to avoid detection." Sonya explains through the phone as Jacqui checks the coordinates.

"That's not far. Maybe two hundred kilometers." Jacqui says. "You know what to do. Come back safely." Sonya says as Cassie cracked a small smile. "Will do. Cage out." Cassie says as she hung up.

Meanwhile, Kotal Kahn & D'Vorah approached the team. "You have new information?" Kotal Kahn asks. "Yeah, Uncle Kotal. Kano talked. Reiko has the amulet and their location is in the Kuatan Jungle, but he has a lot of protection." Eri explains.

"We must strike immediately, before they could move again." Kotal Kahn says. "Perhaps a two pronged approach. The armies of Outworld & Edenia engage Reiko's forces, distract him. While they're preoccupied, This One retrieves the amulet." D'Vorah proposed.

"Not alone you're not, me & Cass will go with you, provide backup." Eri says as Kotal Kahn nods in agreement. "Agreed. It is time to rid Outworld of Reiko & his rebellion." Kotal Kahn says.

(Flashback: 5 Years Ago)

5 Years ago, Ko'atal arranged a meeting with D'Vorah, Sindel, Kitana, Jade, Sheeva, Baraka & Reptile inside of D'Vorah apartment as a maggot crawls onto her arm.

"This One understand your logic, but does not reach the same conclusion." She says as she puts the maggot back into an egg. "Like others, This One is not pleased with the idea of Reiko as Kahn. But it is not certain your claim to the throne will succeed." D'Vorah says.

"Which is why I invited our Edenian, Tarkatan, Shokan & Zaterran friends." Ko'atal says. "Yes, Reiko has no claim to the throne since Shao Kahn's only heir was meant to be my sister, Mileena." Kitana says as Jade takes over. "But Mileena don't wish to claim it, for it would mean abandoning Edenia." Jade adds on.

"I follow only for my tribe's betterment. Reiko would make us slaves like Shao Kahn did. I would rather die than obey that foolish general." Baraka says as Reptile speaks next. "Listen and join us. I know many things about many people, Reiko included. His attempted rule will fall in the telling & pave the way for Ko'atal." Reptile explains as this peaks everyones interest.

D'Vorah, however, seems suspicious. "What would you know that would cause-" She was about to ask when she got interrupted by Centaurs bursting into the room and surrounding the group.

"Well, well, well, finally found the rats that's been scurrying around." Reiko says as he appears along with Motaro & Ermac. "Yet I wonder what the rats are whispering about like handmaidens." Reiko says.

"If only you would hear our consul. As war with Netherrealm looms, alliance with Earthrealm & Edenia is the most Prudent course of action for Outworld." Ko'atal says as Reiko scoffs at this. "Why should I ally with Shao Kahn's murderers & a realm of traitorous weaklings? Reiko humorously questions as the Edenian & Sheeva took offense to that.

"You refuse practical & logical solutions to a grave threat. You endanger the realm & its citizens." Ko'atal says as Reiko's patience began wining. "And sedition does not? Speak your last, before I have your head, fool." Reiko orders as Reptile has enough of Reiko's attitude.

"You have no right nor claim to the throne!" Reptile exclaims as he points an accusation finger at him. "He is a snake, a traitor! He plots to overthrow Shao Kahn & claim the throne for himself! He also plotted to turn Kitana, Jade and any females he desires into his sex slaves! I heard this. Your best claim to the throne is moot." Reptile explains as this troubled everyone on Ko'atal's side.

"How dare you, Zaterran! I will claim the throne by any means necessary!" Reiko exclaims. "You shall never it, for it will be taken by a new Kahn." Ko'atal says as Reiko directed his anger at Ko'atal. "By you?!? Flithy Osh-Tekk?!? Kill him!!!" Reiko ordered as Motaro charged at Ko'atal, but Jade & D'Vorah stopped him.

"This One follows Reiko no longer." D'Vorah says as she & Jade forced Motaro back, starting a battle as the group battles against the Centaurs. "You shall defend your new Emperor!" Reiko orders.

"Our creator, Shao Kahn, is dead. We will serve whom we choose." Ermac says as he battle Reiko. As this is going on, D'Vorah & Jade managed to forced Motaro out of the apartment and sent flying off the balcony. "Help the others. He is mine." D'Vorah says as he flies down.

She lands gracefully on the ground. "Why follow Reiko, Motaro?" D'Vorah questions as Motaro gets back up. "Shao Kahn conquered my Realm and vowed to make Outworld the dominant Realm. I'll follow his ambitions till my dying breath." Motaro explains as he battles against D'Vorah.

Motaro's strength and defense were difficult to beat, but D'Vorah insectoid attacks & speed surpasses Motaro. The Centaur got back up, but was in a dazed state. D'Vorah looked up to see Ko'atal giving her a thumbs down, giving her the cue to finish him.

D'Vorah complied as she brought out her Ovipositors. She then stabs them through Motaro: one through his chest & the other through his head, piercing his heart and brain. She pulls her Ovipositors back and grab his heart & brain as she then smashes them together.

A bug flew into the hole in Motaro's head as D'Vorah flies back to her apartment. When D'Vorah returns, she sees Reiko being restrained by Ermac & Reptile. "Motaro is dead. Your last ally has left you." D'Vorah says, gesturing towards Ermac.

Ko'atal then lifts Reiko's chin up with one of his sickles. "Take this filth away." Ko'atal orders as Reptile did just that while Reiko removed his arm from Ermac's grip.

Ermac turns to Ko'atal, D'Vorah & the others. "We serve the new ruler of Outworld." He says. "Then you serve: Kotal Kahn!" D'Vorah says as she & Ermac bows.

(End Flashback)

(SCENE CHANGE: KUATAN JUNGLE) (POV CHANGE: ERI)

Me, Cassie & D'Vorah reached the Kuatan Jungle as we carefully enter the camp. We can hear the battle going on between Uncle Kotal's & Reiko's as we take cover behind some boxes.

"There." D'Vorah says as we look towards her point of view to see Rain talking with some Centaurs. He seemingly orders them to go towards the West side of the camp as we made our move.

Me & Cassie got Rain's left while D'Vorah got his right. "Here to surrender, traitor?" Rain questions D'Vorah. "You speak of treason? This One knows you desire the throne. Why serve Reiko?" D'Vorah questions Rain as I started feeling uneasy about D'Vorah now.

"I advise him. Stealing the amulet is my genius. It kills him a bit every time he uses it." Rain says. "As both sides diminish, you fill the void." D'Vorah says as Rain nods in confirmation. "Exactly my plan." Rain says as he seemingly looks towards us.

I both heard & smell someone approaching us from behind as I instinctively whipped around and opened fired. Thankfully, it wasn't a friend as it was Meat I opened fired on. I kept on firing until my gun ran out of ammo.

Meat was on the ground, but he got back up as his wounds healed, pushing out all of my bullets. "Oh shit." I said as I withdraw my gun and take out my sword.

But I was not ready for Meat to detach his hand and it latching onto my face. Oh Gods it's so slimy & smelly! I tried frantically to pry the hand off my face, but nothing was working.

I can only see through the gaps between the fingers and even then, all I could see is jungle & camps. But I can hear Meat fighting against Cassie while D'Vorah fights Rain.

While D'Vorah was doing alright, I can hear Cassie struggling. Without much choice, I grabbed the hand and used my Quirk, rewinding it till it becomes a hunk of flesh.

Taking deep breaths in & out, I regain my composure as I turn to see Meat on top of Cassie, beating her senselessly & D'Vorah still fighting Rain. I took out my sword and rushed to help Cassie.

Meat appears to be ready to kill her, but I stopped him by stabbing through his stomach area and slicing upwards. I then started chopping up Meat's body into millions of little pieces.

Panting heavily, I turned to D'Vorah to see her defeating Rain. "Your schemes end here." She says as she brought out four limbs from her body and prepares to kill him when I stopped him.

"I know you two aren't friends, but you're not killing him." I said as Cassie regains consciousness. "And heads fine by the way." She says as she gets back up. D'Vorah retracts her limbs. "Very well. Let us go." She says as we enter the tent to find a chest.

"I got this." I said as I was about to activate my Quirk when D'Vorah stopped me. "I'll handle this." She says as she approaches the chest and uses hundreds of tiny bugs to unlock the chest from the inside. "That is really disturbing." Cassie says with disgust and I nod in agreement.

"D'Vorah!" We heard a familiar exclaims as we turned around to see Reiko. Cassie pulled out her pistol while I draw my sword, but we didn't use either because D'Vorah swarmed him with bugs.

(POV CHANGE: 3RD PERSON)

D'Vorah went to take on Reiko while Cassie & Eri handles the chest. "This One knew you would not stray far from the amulet." D'Vorah says. "You took my throne, my destiny! Now you wish to steal my means of reclaiming it?!?" Reiko angrily asks.

"Neither was meant for you!" D'Vorah exclaims. "Who are you to say?!? I will take something of yours: your life!" Reiko exclaims as he fights D'Vorah.

Reiko's speed & agility were deadly, but D'Vorah's Kytinn abilities won her the match. "This One will enjoy your death." She says.

(SCENE CHANGE: OSH-TEKK CAMP) (POV CHANGE: ERI)

After the battle has won, we're now standing behind Reiko as he's on his knees and tied up. "Enough of your pointless suspense. Just hurry up and finish me." Reiko says as Uncle Kotal shook his head at this.

"Yo do not deserve death by a Emperor's hand. Instead, I give the honor to my First Minister." He says as he gestures towards D'Vorah, who approaches Reiko and grabs him by the face & starts.........kissing him.

Suddenly, she started pouring bugs into him as they were eating him alive. We all looked away in disgust as Reiko lets out one final scream of pain before his screams were silence.

D'Vorah then returns to Uncle Kotal's side. "The rebellion is over." He says. "Well, thanks for that. I know I'll never eat again." Cassie says as she steps forwards. "With your leave, we're gonna head back to Earthrealm and put the amulet back where it belongs." Cassie says.

But then, Uncle Kotal teleports the amulet from Cassie's hand to his. "What the hell are you doing?" Cassie questions. "I am sorry, but I fear Earthrealm's protections are now rendered inadequate to safeguard the amulet. It is time for other Realms to try their hands in hiding it away." He explains.

"But Raiden will come for you & the amulet." Kung Jin warns. "He will not get it, for I intent to throw the amulet into the bottomless, monster ridden depths of the Sea of Blood." He reveals as he then conjures a portal.

"Go to Edenia and give both them & Earthrealm my apologies." He says as he then pushed us into the portal with telepathic abilities.

(SCENE CHANGE: OUTSIDE OF THE TENT) (POV CHANGE: 3RD PERSON)

"This One deceived them. The amulet is in Kotal Kahn's possession, but won't be for long. He plans to throw it into the Sea of Blood." D'Vorah says to someone.

"Can you retrieve it?" This person asks, revealing to be a male based upon his voice. "He trusts no one else to transport it." She says. "Keeping you close to the Outworld throne these many years has proven most fortuitous, D'Vorah. They never suspected one of their own to be a disciple of our lord." The person says, revealing himself to be Quan Chi in a holographic form.

"This One lives to serves Shinnok." D'Vorah says while bowing to him. "You have done well. Now bring it to me." Quan Chi orders. "Without delay, Quan Chi." She says as the Quan Chi holograph dissipated.

(SCENE CHANGE: NETHERREALM)

Meanwhile, in the Netherrealm, Quan Chi dispels the spell he used to communicate with D'Vorah as he joins his group of Revenants (Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana, Jade, Sindel, Nightwolf, Kabal, Sub-Zero, Stryker, Jax, Smoke, Johnny Cage & Sonya Blade).

"What news of Outworld?" Revenant Liu Kang asks as Quan Chi hops onto his steed. "Shinnok will soon be freed. We make for my fortress." He says as he and the Revenants ride off for Quan Chi's fortress.

(SCENE CHANGE: KOVE)

Back in Outworld, D'Vorah & two Osh-Tekk warriors are carrying the chest containing the amulet to a ship to sail for the Sea of Blood when stops in her tracks, confusing the warriors.

"Is there a problem?" One of the warriors asks. "Two problems." She says as she swiftly threw acid at them, killing them. Once they were dispatched, D'Vorah opens the chest and steals the amulet as she leaves for the Netherrealm.

(Here's Chapter 19 done. I didn't include Sonya's flashback because it was already soon in a prior chapter, so doing it repeatedly would seem kinda ridiculous. I also decided to change Kotal's motive as to why he's keeping the amulet because he trusts Earthrealm due Oscar & his friends. Plus, using his own niece as a bargaining chip seems a bit outta character for him. Anyways, next chapter will bring in two characters to help with Quan Chi.)
