The man in the theatre
We keep walking calmly through the streets, wandering from the centre, as if something, for little that it seems, could lead us to the next part of this odd situation. There's just a few people on streets, not really strange since it's almost night at this point. It's like this for some time, until the theatre banter starts to light up as soon as we walk by. I can't say it is a coincidence, so, looking at my companies, I decide to enter. The place is not too big, but it is enough to easily have 30 people to watch a show. The only lights are the footage ones on the scenario, the rest is practically surrounded by darkness. The doors suddenly close in a rough sound, locking us on there. Gathered then inside the theatre, the lights turn out to be slightly soft, the atmosphere calm, everything looked to be peaceful as it could be, at least until I glimpse something into the dim lightning, a person with two-colored hair.. Something about the way the person held themselves, a confidence that bordered arrogance at same, with a wide smile, genuine and unconcerned, relaxed, as though he knew we would be there. I look at the others, confused on what I was sensing. Is just some seconds after when the only girl in the group speaks up.
Who are you? What are you doing here?
That two-haired man looks over at her briefly, a slight eyebrow raise as if not entirely surprised that she spoke at all. With a warm, soft voice, but with an undertone of playfulness to it that made us feel uneasy, answers
Who am I? -he grinned, leaning in slightly to the group, causing us to back off a bit- That's a good question, I could ask the same to you all
We look at each other again, then back to the man. I speak, this time not looking at him but rather down at the ground.
We're just here out of curiosity, but that's none of your concern anyway. So what are you doing?
The man simply continues to grin, but there was something more sinister about it now. He took a little more steps closer, making us felt inching away from him without realizing it. His voice had a subtle shift, sounding more mischievous and little less playful.
That's not the only question I could ask..you know? Can you tell me your names?-with a quick smirk
Shrinking away more at the question, it's my other partner the one that decides to answer
My name is Leo...-he started, but the two-colored hair man cuts him off before he could say anything else
What are the other's names?-he asks, glancing at the other people and back at Leo, who started speaking
Both the girl and I remain quiet, unable to respond, as if something was really off, but not quite getting what it was. The man can't help but smirk at that, his playfulness seemed to disappear, looking a tiny bit menacing more and more as he spoke.
Alright, you've answered one question, now I have one for you
We were now thoroughly confused about his statement. The playful atmosphere has died completely, replaced by something entirely different. The man was still smiling, but it not longer felt the same.
What is your name?-the girl suddenly asks, breaking the silence.
I believe you all have already figured that out-the man answered, his voice seemingly more colder than it was before.
Slowly, we start to become more and more uncomfortable with every word he spoke. The whole encounter was starting to feel strange; why did it suddenly become menacing? Was it the sudden shift of mood? Or was it the way the person spoke?
