____The Past____
Half a dozen men walked out from the trees and bushes being lead by some wannabe tough guy in an eye patch.
(Y/N) shoved Morro behind her and into Wu's arms. (Y/N) was unafraid of some group of weaklings trying to intimidate her with numbers.
While the other six men all carried some sports equipment made of wood like a baseball bat or a hockey stick what terrified Morro was when he saw something gleaming in the eye-patched man's hand.
It was a knife!
"What do we have here boys a cute little family outing." The eye-patched man laughed his goons laughed with him. (Y/N) rolled her eyes at this.
The eye-patched man sneered at Wu and Morro. Morro clutched onto his Sensei tightly afraid to let go. "Cute kid mama. How about me and the boy's help you make another one." He cackled his six degenerates howled alongside them.
Wu went to step forward but (Y/N) stopped him. "Take care of your son, Wu." (Y/N) growled at him. Wu understood what she meant and shielded Morro.
"Wu, hu?" The eye-patched man scoffed eyeing Wu up and down. "More like wussie Wu if you ask me, boss." One of the degenerates called out earning some laughs from the others.
"Yeah, what kind of husband lets his wife fight his battles for him." The eye-patched man scoffed at Wu.
"You leave Sensei Wu alone." Morro shouted at the man before Wu or (Y/N) could anything. The eye-patched man glared at Morro making him feel very small.
"Your brat has a mouth on him, mama." The eye-patched man said to (Y/N). "Why don't I discipline him for you." And then lunged at Morro with the knife.
(Y/N) grabbed ahold of the knife by the blade in her left hand before he could harm Morro.
Wu let out a gasp and shielded Morro's eyes when he saw the blood.
The eye-patched man looked (Y/N) dead on in her annoyed face as he grabbed ahold of the knife handle with both hands and tried to wank it out of (Y/N)'s tight-fisted grip to no avail.
(Y/N) twisted her fist to the left pulling the eye-patched man with it and brought down her right fist and punched the man in the face breaking his jaw.
The eye-patched man fell to the ground clutching his broken jaw. He tried to scream commands to his gang but all that came out was muffled words and a torrent of blood.
"She broke the bosses jaw! Let's get her!" One of the degenerates shouted out as all six rushed (Y/N).
(Y/N) grabbed the boss by the back of his filthy shirt and flung him backwards into two of the thugs, knocking them to the ground.
Morro continued to tightly cling to his Sensei's legs watching the shadows on the wagon to afraid to watch the fighting.
Morro watched as (Y/N)'s shadow moved very rapidly taking down three of the shadows in one strike.
Morro gasped as he watched the shadows dance, his Sensei ready to defend him if one of those thugs managed to get past (Y/N).
(Y/N) blocked the bat with her forearm the bat cracked and splinted from the force of the hit.
The thug stared at the broken bat than at the unfazed (Y/N) before dropping what was left of the bat and running away.
(Y/N) picked up the other half of the broken bat and pegged it at the back of the fleeing man's head striking the man and knocking him to the dirt ground out cold.
(Y/N) seized the eye-patched man by the throat ready to snap his neck. "(Y/N)! Stop you have defeated them they no longer pose a threat." Wu called out to her desperate to get her to stop before she could claim that mans life.
(Y/N) looked back at Wu and a frightened Morro shivering in fear. (Y/N) looked back at the eye-patched man and growled before letting him go.
"Take a good look at both of them..." (Y/N) instructed the eye-patched man the man quickly did as he was told. "They are the only reason you continue to live past today..." (Y/N) whispered to the man her eye changing colour.
The eye-patched man's blood went cold and ordered his wounded men to run for it. They limped away some cradling a broken arm or nursing a broken jaw and concussion.
As soon as the men were out of sight Morro rushed forward tears streaming down his face and hugged (Y/N).
Morro hickuped some untellable words to (Y/N) pointing to her wounded left hand.
"It's alright little one that hand always gets hurt nothing to worry about." (Y/N) says softly patting Morro on the head to ease his worry.
(Y/N) wobbled a little the sudden loss of blood pressure was making her a little woosie. Wu stepped forward hugging her to keep her steady as not to alarm young Morro any more than he already was.
"I'm fine Wu. I'm just a little lightheaded from a little blood loss it is nothing to concern yourself over." (Y/N) tells him removing his arms and getting ready to leave but Morro stopped her.
"No!" Morro shouted up at her tears still in his determined eyes. "All three of us are going home where it's safe and you can get your hand looked at!" Morro said puffing out his chest trying to look more grown up.
(Y/N) and Wu both got a good chuckle out of that but Morro stood firm and refused to give up.
Wu gave (Y/N) a look as if to say. 'Please humour him and let me treat your hand.' (Y/N) rolled her eyes and Wu took that as a sign she would concede any objections.
Wu smiled and scooped her up in his arms. "Hey!" (Y/N) shouted in protest. "We wouldn't want you passing out on the way back to the monastery." Wu chuckled and (Y/N) sighed.

____The Past_____
It might have been a little dramatic... The way Morro had lead the way into the monastery.
He had burst open the front doors of the monastery in such a rush that he nearly broke the hinges and ran to find the first aid kit as if his life depended on it.
Wu finally let (Y/N) down when Morro returned with the first aid kit while (Y/N) was rooting around in her satchel bag and pulled out a mortar and pestle followed by a few herbs.
"What are you doing?" Wu asked noticing her equipment. "Just making a poultice for my wound nothing to be alarmed about." (Y/N) chuckled at his alarm.
"Poultice?" Morro asked looking at the herbs (Y/N) had pulled out to use. "Medicine." (Y/N) briefly explained to the little boy as she removed her grey jacket.
"Wow." Morro said when he saw her arm (Y/N) hid her left arm still coated in blood behind her back. "Don't worry little one it just a few cuts it looks worse then it actually is." (Y/N) tells him with a reassuring smile.
"I'm talking about your right arm it looks like a dragon." Morro gasped point at her right forearm.
Wu noticed (Y/N) stiffen a little at the mention of this. "It's called a birthmark." (Y/N) quickly explained and buried her self into her work.
Wu reached out and held (Y/N)'s left hand and began to clean the wounded area for her before she could protest his help.
Morro smiled as he watched his Sensei cradled (Y/N)'s arm as he gently cleaned the wounded area of dirt, blood and other such filth taking extra care to be gentle with the bruises.
"What's this one?" Morro asked pointing to the thick and fleshy green leaves with serrated small white teeth.
"Aloe vera it's used to heal burns, wounds and other skin ailments." (Y/N) answered the inquisitive little boy's questions thankful for the distraction he was providing her.
"This one?" Morro questioned pointing at a pure white flower with an intense fragrance.
"That called jasmine. It's used to reduce infection inflammation and swelling." (Y/N) replied with a smile.
"And this one?" Morro asked pointing to some roots. "Garden angelica." (Y/N) said looking at what he was pointing at.
"It used for used against fever, infections, and flu it's also used for the treatment of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract and nervous system." (Y/N) explained.
"Why aren't you adding it to the mix?" Morro questioned. "It's tincture." (Y/N) answered still busy with her work.
"Tin-ctu-re?" Morro sounded out. "Tea Morro. It's taken like tea." Wu explained to his student with a smile.
"Oh good. You and Sensei can share. I'll get the cups." Morro said running off to find the teacups.
Wu let out a chuckle and handed (Y/N) back her hand. "You're very good with him." Wu complemented. "I hadn't noticed." (Y/N) stated as she applied her poultice to the wounds on her left hand.
"Do you have a little brother or sister?" Wu questioned wondering where she learnt such skill with children.
"No." (Y/N) answered him as she wrapped the gauze on. "I did find a boy living on the streets once and took care of him till he found a family."
"But you didn't?" Wu asked and (Y/N) shook her head. "His family don't like me so we went our separate ways." (Y/N) told him and finished tieing up her gauze.
Wu went to say something when Morro returned with a tea set to boil the tea. (Y/N) patted him on the head.
"Thank you, Morro, very helpful." (Y/N) told him making the little boy smile. It was nice to be appreciated for helping.
