Nerdy: Good Evening Pooja! Are you ready for the interview?
Pooja: Yes I am, Good evening.
Nerdy: First of all congratulations for winning Kuru awards, category Fanfiction!
Pooja: Thank You So Much🥰🥰🥰.. It means a lottt for a young writer like me... ❤❤
Nerdy: Oh I am sure judges consider your book exceptional ❤
Pooja: That's sounds greattt 😇😇
Nerdy: So my first question, A 30 chapter completed book, what problems did you face while writing it?
Pooja: I faced lots of hesitation while writing a mature part.. whenever I try to write something like that it ends up being very funny. And I faced writer's block too.. And even writing emotional scenes too I think I should work on those things a lott to overcome itt. 🤧
Nerdy: Writer's block are quite common these days, would you like to suggest something to aspiring writers to tackle this?
Pooja: I would say that Don't beat yourself up. Be calm, take a chill pill and most importantly have faith in yourself. Always think that if you can't write this then no one can... Believe in yourself. Maybe go out and just watch the scenario and then have a good sleep because I realised that my creative process only works out if I get sufficient sleep. Most importantly just take the writer's block as a normal thing because every writer must have faced it in their early career no matter who they are, whether a famous writer or an aspiring writer.
Nerdy: Great tips! Moving to the next question you answered earlier that you faced problems while writing emotional scenes, how did you tackle it?
Pooja: Yes, to deal with this problem I used to watch lots and lots of series in all languages, especially our Indian serials because they are expert in those emotional scenes . Even I used to read books written by William James who is the master of emotions. I would like to suggest to my readers a few books written by him, 'The Will To Believe' and 'What is an emotion' are few of his works. These books were very well written by him with a mixture of different emotions. Even the strongest person will cry after reading these books, it was damn worthy and apt for emotional books.
Nerdy: Oh great read over there. My next question is related to the title of the book. What does Firdaus mean except the name of the princess?
Pooja: Firdaus means Paradise. And even in urdu they mean it as Garden..
So this title signifies a girl with these traits, who is heavenly beauty as an angel. It also characterizes her as a God.
Nerdy: With these words it seems like your protagonist is a personification of perfection. Did this anyhow make the character too superficial for your readers or maybe even for yourself?
Pooja: Yes actually this character was very lofty. So it made the readers fall for the second protagonist more likable than the main lead so it was really hard for me as well as my co author to decorous her character or we can say that it just consumed a lot of time to justify her character as people usually don't show interest in those characters who are very flawless and they really do expect a jovial natured person because it makes the story spicy and engrossing. (Well we finally did that after 15 chapters)
Nerdy: Very true, another thing I noticed while glancing through your book was the blurb, could you explain the first few lines, "Love has different shades
Love can be
soft or hard
Cold or hot
Wild or mild
Shocking or Protecting
Love is eclectic or electric." to your readers and what exactly you meant by that?
Pooja: Sure I love to explain it.
Different people have different opinions on love. Some see it as a lust while some see it as a pure bond. Well it depends on the readers how they are perceiving it.
So here I tried to convey that love has different feelings and it can be taken in a different way..
So it exactly means that Firdaus and Padmavati had different feelings for Ranjit and their love was totally different from one another. For one of them it was atrocious love and for the other one it was adoring love. Also I personally felt this way of differentiating love in the blurb will make the readers curious to know more about the book.
Nerdy: Hmm, talking about atrocious love, what exactly does atrocious love mean?
Pooja: Atrocious love is something that is
extremely wicked, brutal, or cruel. When the two broken souls join the path of love they will surely merge into one soul.
Yes love can't always be like what we can imagine it as getting too hard to live and harder to die. They both were somewhere in between Life and death. Only choice left for them is to live with haters on each other because their past was terrible, they lost their loved one and are trying to find the lost ones through each other.
Nerdy: Okay, twisted attraction could be the word for it. Moving further I noticed the book was written in an informal way, almost in a play form. Would you someday in future edit it and turn it more formal or would you like to let the book stay as it is?
Pooja: Yes as a 15 years old girl my thinking process or the way of writing is to entertain my readers. This is my second book so actually my first one was even more informal now it is in my draft....
Well actually I'm thinking tooo work on it after a couple of years maybe I can edit it or even I can rewrite it with some more innovative and formal way ..
Nerdy: Good luck for that :) Next thing I noticed was a trailer. Would you perhaps some day like to take this book a bit further or any such plans?
Pooja: Surely one day I will publish it. I am wishing to take a historical short film on this story but I'm not sure about the film though it is just my desire to do it.. but for sure you can see it in paperback form.
Nerdy: Would love to see that! Resting the formal questions now let's play a game where you would have to choose one of the two words and give a reason behind the selection.
Pooja: Thanks ❤❤👀👀.. Sure will choose.
Nerdy: Reading or writing?
Pooja: Reading because it's an easy job and you can learn a lott from it and very informative, will helpful you to write your book.. It inspires us to take initiative on writing.
Nerdy: Could you tell the readers some books that you could read any time, anywhere?
Pooja: Harry Potter books.
Agatha Christie books.
Especially goosebumps, I can read it day and night fully.
I'm a great adorer of mythological books, especially Mahabharatha and Ramayana.
Nerdy: Next choice, this one would be tough but choose one: Mahabharata or Ramayan?
Pooja: Mahabharata.
Nerdy: I am not going to ask reason XDXD God knows what controversy that might create.
Music or reading?
Pooja: Music
Becoz I love to hear it all the time .. Stressbuster and a motivating thing to do when we are depressed or upset it suits all our emotions and needs 😂😂
Nerdy: Please tell our readers what songs are your favorite.
Pooja: Munbe va
Siragugal vandadu engo
Shape of you, last Christmas, La Camisa Negra.
Zara Zara and yun hi re
I'm 1D fan so obviously I love all the directionist songs
I love black pink band songs tooo
Nerdy: Great choice of music!
Summer or Winters?
Pooja: Winters.... I always love the cold breeze, it makes me chill and calm and gives me a pleasant feeling...
Nerdy: Ohhhh
Light shades or dark shades?
Pooja: Dark Shades. I don't like light ones it doesn't suit my type tooo .. well I'm not always a dark shaded person.. I'm just somewhere in between those two. Well we can say intermediate shades.
Nerdy: Thank you for the interview! Is there anything you would like to address to your readers? Please add what exactly you search in a book while reading.
Pooja: I actually judged more than 40 books. First of all I read the first few sentences of the book. It gives a good indication of the quality of the book and the plot line is obviously very important because that's going to determine how interesting the book is.
Yes I would love to give out this message to my readers, "Nothing is permanent in life everything changes one day and your dream comes true."
I would like to give you a short example that happened in my case.
Once upon a time a little girl was an interviewer, who used to take lots and lots of interviews and she loved to do it and interacting with all the big stars on Wattpad was really a big task for her and she wished one day her place would change like she wants someone to interview her. She worked hard and she never gave up.... Taking interviews gave her a clear idea of how to write and how to reach a lotts of audience out there.
And her friends and family (kurufamily) helped her a lott...
So that girl is me who took interviews in this book 'Conversation with your favourite writers' and I'm really happy after 1 year of hardwork I can grab my place as a person getting interviewed in the same book....
I'm also just proud that I took the first interview in this book and it has reached a far audience, I'm happy for ittt...
I'm just overwhelmed with the love and affection you guys showered on me only because of you guys, I'm here and it is only for you guys...
One Year,One person,One Pen & Book can change everything in this world
I need your unconditional love and support to shine evenmore. ❤❤
Nerdy: Thank you for the responses ❤ hope you achieve great heights and succeed in all your plans. Good luck!
Pooja: Thank You So Much... I wish I will. All the best to you. You have done a great job so far. Taking an interview is not quite easy but you have rocked it. Great time spent here in this interview...
