Nerdy: Good evening! I am one of the interviewers from the Kuru family. Are you ready for your interview?

Kanu: Good evening to you too. I'm ready and excited.

Nerdy: Great then! My first request to you is, introduce yourself to the readers.

Kanu: Well in these times I often forget who I am but I'll try. I'm Kanu, an introvert living her life among books. For now, those are subject books rather than novels. I am a big time foodie and full time procrastinator. I guess that's all about myself.

Nerdy: Procrastination is one of the vice that is commonly seen these days. As a writer, how do you think this has affected your writing?

Kanu: Well, I'll not lie that it does effects my writing. At times I feel like writing, I have the plot in mind and even the dialogues but my laziness and the thought that I've the entire day often lands me in trouble. This is also the reason for my late updates at times. Though I try to do things but can't.

Nerdy: Indeed a problem to be dealt with, I suppose this must not be the only one. Do tell our readers what other problems are you currently facing while writing this book?

Kanu: I'll be very honest, I've faced many problems while writing this book. First will be portrayal of emotions. The story is set in a timeline where the thinking of the characters was very different. No matter how much we try, it becomes very difficult to think from their perspective and I really didn't want to spoil the essence of the characters.

Another thing was the information. The personas my book deals with characters which are not really touched or are not really known. So whenever I write something, next time I find something that could've been added in the previous part which degrades my story to a certain extent.

The characters are really unknown and hence it gets difficult to weave a story with information that is found in bits and pieces.

Nerdy: Tough task, indeed I would agree with this. Have you ever felt that few scenes you wrote glorified the character way too much which you didn't want but was necessary for your plot?

Kanu: Well, all the characters that my book deals with are gray. They are neither negative nor positive. I just try to portray the scene and leave it upon the readers to decide whether the decision of the character is right or wrong. And I feel that the book is still in it's initial stage to really develop a fixed image of a character. So I just write what I feel like and then leave the interpretation to the readers.

Nerdy: Talking about the current status of the book, what have you planned regarding this book? I mean an appropriate number of chapters you want this book to have or the time this book would require to reach it's end.

Kanu: To be very honest, I am really bad at estimating the number of chapters. For example take my book Awakened, I initially decided it would just be one book with 50 chapters. But now, it's 4 books. So I don't think I can predict the number of chapters but if someone still asks, I guess the book shall not exceed 40 to 50 chapters. That's all I guess.

Nerdy: 50 chapters are a lot I must say but when it comes to our epics I would agree on this one point. This would be hard. What part would you like to highlight the most in your book as giving every part equal light would be extremely difficult thing to do?

Kanu: My major focus in this book is the character of Mandodari and her development. So major highlights of my book will be the things that concern her or her feelings or emotions. I wouldn't cover all the scenes and parts of Ramayan as this book is not Ramayan but the life of Mandodari as the wife of Lankanaresh. So that will always be the highlight of the book.

Nerdy: Mandodari, a pious woman indeed. In your book I read a few words from the author where you justified this book is nowhere a means to justify Ravana or glorify him. Why did you see the need to write this out?

Kanu: When dealing with epics, we need to be very careful as I learned from my previous book. Even though Ravan was a great man with knowledge of almost everything, he was an evil person. No matter what good deeds he did he was wrong in some cases too. On wattpad, there are always people who are ready to attack you when you glorify such a character even if you are stating facts. So to ve on a safe side, I mentioned that.

Nerdy: Hmm at times people get sensitive regarding topics of our epic so this explains it. I was going through your profile and noticed your impressive works. Congratulations for getting 187k views on Awakened. Have you ever tried to compare your books with one another? If yes why and if no please tell our readers why not?

Kanu: Thank you so much. All the credit goes to my lovely readers.

To be very honest, I don't like comparing my work on the basis of views or votes. I like comparing it on the basis of my own writing style and grammar because both are completely different books even though they deal with the same genre.

I like seeing whether I improved as a writer or not rather than comparing the views. When I started this book, I knew this would not be as successful as TDT because this book is not something everyone will enjoy. This is a sensitive book with no spice (like people like to call it) and plot twists. So this is a book which will be preferred by a selected group of readers. So I see no point in comparing that.

Nerdy: A wise answer indeed. When I was scrolling through your profile I noticed not only do you write fanfictions on mythology but you are admin of two communities that are also involved with mythologies. With such extensive involvement in this topic please tell our readers what is your thought regarding the effects mythology has in our lives and to what extent are they good for any personnel?

Kanu: Mythologies are good for a person until they keep you down to earth and they help you grow. There are stories in mythologies that may also attract you towards power, there are stories which will lead you in a wrong direction because humans hardly try to find the exact reasons behind those stories. Mythologies are good till you stick to the good part and learn from the bad part.

Once you start following it blindly, it becomes a curse. According to me, mythology should help to find your inner self and inner light. It should help you make your own theory of the divine and life. Once you start believing in the theories preached by others blindly, it becomes chaotic because not every theory can be applied in all situations.

Nerdy: Hmm, mythology and religion has turned into a taboo due to these reasons. Do you think after completing these books you have started dealing with genre mythology, you would ever deal with these topics again?

Kanu: I have a motto that says never say never because whenever I do so, I end up doing the same. *guilty*

But at least for now, I won't be dealing with mythology because the projects I've planned and already started working on are very different. Yes, the entire series of TDT deals with some elements of mythology but not completely. And the other projects are of completely different genres. So I have no plans for now at least. No idea about the future though.

Nerdy: Future indeed is unpredictable. Moving to our next section we would play a game in which I would give you two words and you would have to choose regardless how tough the choice is. Are you ready?

I may ask a few quick questions between the choices too so pardon me for that.

Kanu: *very nervous. Already biting my nails* ready

Nerdy: Okay so your first choice, a common one: Reading or writing?

Kanu: *ouch. A very very tough one* To be honest it depends upon my mood. So according to my mood right now, it's writing.

Nerdy: Writing? Could we expect a series of updates in all your books? XDXD

Kanu: Absolutely no because the onw I'm writing is not yet published *revelation revelation* but ya, you might at 3 in the morning I feel like updating.

Nerdy: Good luck for your new project! Next choice: Music or painting?

Kanu: This is one of the toughest choices of my life *holds my head in absolute panic*

Mu....pai..Mu...Pai...Okay it's Music

Nerdy: Music.... care to tell our readers which songs are your favorite?

Kanu: There is a list. I can never decide just one. Though I always have one song that is on my mind at one particular time and for now it's A thousand years by Christina Perrie. Just heard it a few minutes back

Nerdy: Next choice: Nick Bateman or Tom Hiddleston

Kanu: Tom Hiddleston

Nerdy: Fine selection. Loki fan?

Kanu: Yes! Big one

Nerdy: Do you plan to write a fanfiction on any marvel character?

Kanu: Uhm...*whispers* Yes

Nerdy: Ohh could we get any hints?

Kanu: Of course *whispers* Nobody would know.

Nerdy: *whispers back* good luck with that project.

Kanu: *whispers back 2.0* Thanks

Nerdy: Moving on with our small game, Sweet or spice?

Kanu: Can't choose one. As I stated earlier, I'm a big time foodie. But if I have to choose *panics* It is spicy.

Nerdy: Thank you for the responses Kanu! Is there any message you would like to transfer to your reader?

Kanu: Thank you so much for this lovely interview. I really enjoyed it.

And to my readers, I owe all my success as a writer to them. I can't thank you guys enough for supporting me everytime. I love you guys loads.

Nerdy: Congratulations on bagging first place in the mythological genre of Morpankh Awards and I hope you achieve great heights in future.

Kanu: Thank you so much and I wish you the same.
