Morning Walks || Takeru Fujiwara
A.N: In this piece reader-chan lives by herself with her cat. Sorry I didn't make it clear. xP Plus, I was thinking about the Japanese apartment complexs when I wrote this. Anywhos, happy reading!! =)
Hearing the annoyingly familiar ringing of your alarm clock, you lazily shut it off and sat up, swinging your legs over the edge of your bed whilst trying to read what time the clock that sat on your nightstand said through weary eyes.
You groaned irritably at what you saw.
6:00 A.M.
Dammit!! It's only the second day of school, and I'm still not used to getting up this early. Come to think of it--I'll never get used to it.
Rubbing the rest of the sleep out of your eyes, you yawned and stood up, letting the coolness of the rug awaken the rest of your senses as you stretched, moving your tired muscles as you headed towards the bathroom.
Once you were done with your morning routine, you made your way to the kitchen and stole a quick glance at the clock which now read 6:20.
You then decided to make yourself some of your favorite breakfast.
After you were done you happily ate in silence, enjoying the quiet and relaxing morning until you heard the squeaking meow of your cat: Little Missy.
"Hi, Little Missy~!" you smiled as a grey, dwarf-sized tiger cat came trotting towards you and climbed in your lap, purring whilst eyeing the food in front of you.
Before she could even get an inch closer, you put her down and said, "Oh hell no. You know the rules. I eat, then you eat."
Putting her down you finished eating and rinsed the dishes off, then gave Little Missy a fresh bowl of water and cat food as her squeaks filled the room whilst she walked around your feet.
"Yes. Yes. I know, you're so deprived and neglected. That's why you're withering away to nothing, right?" you said after giving her her food and scratched her back.
She purred back in reply.
"Spoiled brat."
As soon as you were done attending to her, you washed what dishes you had, dried them, and then put them away.
After that, you quickly brushed your teeth.
Once again, you took another look at the clock that hung on the wall. It read seven o'clock.
"Well then, I guess I'm off," you sighed, gathering your stuff and putting on your shoes.
"And, Little Missy, I better not find cat food everywhere when I come home too!"
Unlocking the door, you stepped out in the spring air, shutting and locking the door behind you as you went on your way.
You weren't even a block away from the apartment when you felt like someone was following you. Panic began to slowly settle in as you frantically turned around ready to defend yourself only to see Takeru Fujiwara walking in your direction.
"Um...F-Fujiwara-kun, what are you doing here?" you squeaked after he walked past you, but stopped upon hearing your question.
"Haven't you realized that we're neighbors?" he announced, turning around whilst giving you a questioning stare.
"S-Seriously?! I had no idea!" you said gaping at him in disbelief as the taller male ignored your cry and continued on his way.
"Are you coming or do you plan on standing there all day?" he asked, not even giving you a second glance.
"Y-Yes! H-hey, wait for me!!" you stuttered once you were out of your bewildered state and hastily started running to catching up with him, finally matching his pace.
For a few minutes, the two of you walked together neither one not bothering to start a conversation--not that you minded. Actually, you quite enjoyed it until Takeru's voice brought you back to reality.
"You're coming to stride practice today, aren't you."
"Do I have a choice!" you stated rather than asking, peering into his expressionless face. "I mean you were the one insisting I'd join."
"W-well we needed a manager," he trailed off looking of to the side, completely unaware of the ever growing grin spreading widely across your face.
"It's all right. What's done is done. Plus, I'm pretty sure Nana-chan would feel left out being the only girl on the team and all."
Up until now you weren't ever a morning person, but if you got to spend some time with someone other than your cat, then maybe you just might start enjoying mornings as much as you used to.
