I'm not sure when I noticed that Morgan had accepted those old requests I sent a year ago, after we had met at the wedding, but suddenly I had access to her social media. A feast for my eyes to finally look into her life.

I looked through her posts, her last picture was one of her and her children on a hike in Scottsdale with Lydia tagged. Wow, her children, they all looked so much like her. Her daughter was her double, not too far off her height, and newly turned twelve from the last post. Her boys were fair like her. Her youngest boy was her image. The older had the look though too, they were cute, a gorgeous family picture in pinnacle peak park, rock formations and cacti behind them on a sunny day.  Morgan looked so happy, her arms around her babies, and her hair wrapped up in red bandanna. She had a white linen shirt on, and tan shorts, a backpack on her back and hiking boots on with red socks pulled up above them. God she looked cute.

I had scrolled down and taken in every picture with such a want for more as each passed by. It was as if finally she had let me in a little to her world. I wondered what changed her mind, whatever it was, I was happy to be here. The more I looked, the more I felt the urge to see her, and the need to see those blue eyes up close. I had to see her again in the flesh, and to have her in front of me again. It was a day on my Calendar that got closer and closer. New Year's Eve, now only two months away.

Time of course went a little quicker when she made contact one Monday morning, contact that became a daily thing. Morning and night I would get a text, as if she suddenly couldn't see out a day or enter into a new one without acknowledging me, and without thinking of me. It made me begin to slowly fall in love with her, all from a distance, and that had never happened to me before. I was falling for someone without their physical presence, falling in love with their words... and their thoughts.

M- I woke up this morning and saw that you liked my picture from my hike last week... and it made me smile, to see your name. So I'm sending you my cell number so I can see that name a little more often and smile a whole lot more... text me 🫵🏻😉🙂 please!

L- I am taking my momma out for lunch and then going to the movies with a friend.

M- I was relieved for a millisecond and then you said you dated months ago and I felt a little jealous. Lucky girl is all I can say!

L- it didn't last past the date... I would much rather date you, but you know that 😉 what about you... you still ghosting girls for fun?

M- I've not been on a date since ours... you broke me 🫦

I sit for a second and mull that over. She hadn't dated since the summer?! Since me. That was news to me, but it made me wonder if she had the same problem I did. It just didn't feel fun anymore. I think she's right. I think perhaps we broke each other.

L- You hung up your sheet? 👻😂

M- The entire teachers lounge just turned to look at me as I burst out laughing... yes I hung up my sheet ☠️

L- Morgan you will regret giving me your number... If I text you Every-time I thought about you, your inbox would be full in a day.

L- Yes! She's auctioning me off for charity 🤑😳

M- I better bring my cheque book then... what does the winner get?

L- an evening with me, dinner, a date... I'm on the list of most eligible lesbians in sport and Teddy is using me as a cash cow... quite shamelessly 😂 she put my picture on the damn flyer.

M- Im going to call Teddy and reserve you for a small fortune because there is no way I'm letting anyone else get that date... I've waited long enough and I don't think I can wait an hour past midnight to finally go on a date with you 💰💰💸💸💸

L- reserving me?! Romantic 😉
