Missing

I walk out, far too calm to be considered normal. I sit down on a bar stool and ask the figure I recognised as Kurogiri for a drink. He blinked once and said, "I'm assuming non-alcoholic."

I didn't reply as he placed a glass of soda in front of me. Just as I was about to drink, a gnarled hand grabbed my shoulder. I froze for a moment, thinking it might be Shigaraki and that I was going to meet Kendou up there.

"I heard Shigaraki say you had some trouble believing in your, erm, family history. I'm not from the league...but he did promise a reward. It seems I have to restore some things in that head of yours," the man in traditional Japanese clothing told me.

"Can't I finish my soda first before dealing with you gu-" I started to protest but suddenly felt an odd sensation in my head.

I couldn't think, and I couldn't remember anything for a few moments. But then, the memories all flooded back, memories that I never knew I had.

"Tsk, are you truly this useless, sister?"

"Onii-san, calm down! You'll hurt the boy!" the trembling form of my mother shielded a three year old me.

"You were a disappointment, having been born quirkless! And now your son is nothing but a failed experiment! I thought he might have my quirk—but no! He has a much cheaper version of it! A knockoff! What a disgrace you both are! I never should've helped make that Belgian man fall for you!" All For One slapped my mother.

"What do you mean helped?!"

"Do you really think that boy's father loves someone as stupid and useless as you? I have one of my subordinates use their infatuation quirk on him every month."

Mother stared at him for a good few seconds before she fell to her knees and started sobbing, seemingly forgetting I was there.

"Boy, your mother will be punished. Oh, and by the way, in case it wasn't obvious? you aren't good enough to be my nephew. Goodbye and good riddance." The man crouched down in front of me before dragging my mother away.

I gasped for air, but soon another memory assaulted me.

"If I become stronger you'll let my mother go, right?! I know you faked her death! I know she's in one of your prisons!" A middle schooler shouted at a deformed man. Oh, that's me.

"Oh, and what makes you think that?" he said before letting out an oddly light chuckle.

"You're punishing her because I'm not useful! Well, I'll become useful! I was accepted into U.A.! You can erase my memories now, and make me believe I truly want to become a hero. Then when I graduate, restore my memories and I'll get to tell you everything I know about the heroes! Plus I'll get stronger with their training and equipment, since they have more funds!" I pleaded on my knees.

The man only smiled and put his hand on my head. Soon the memory faded away to black.

I'm assuming he did erase my memory, then?
I stared up at the guy who just restored them and blinked, "Thanks. Bye."

I downed my soda in two gulps and turned the bar's TV on, ignoring his indignant scoff.

"Breaking News! Post-attack U.A. is under heavy pressure! Not only did the last attack of the League of Villains kill forty-three unnamed students from the Hero Course, Support Course, General Course and Business Course, but student tensions are also high and we have gotten new word that one of the representatives of Class 2-B has gone missing. The parents of the students are demanding their children back, but the school is at a loss as the children might then be targeted in their own homes, bringing their families into danger as well."

A picture of me in my P.E. uniform flashed on the screen. "The name of the missing student is Neito Monoma, authorities are advised to approach him with caution. The boy can copy other's quirks for a short time and is currently in a volatile state of mind according to his classmates. They speculate this is due to the loss of his girlfriend and other classmates."

"Wow, they're really smart, huh? If there was a group of villains who didn't know I was missing or in a volatile state of mind, they'd know now," I muttered before laughing slightly and turning the TV off.

"You're interesting," Kurogiri simply said as he wiped the counter down.

"I find it more interesting that you're a nomu created from a corpse, yet you ignore the fact."

"The fact won't help me take care of Shigaraki."

"Hmm?" I mused as I got up and walked towards the door.

"Time to go back to school. I might be late, and I'm sure my classmates miss me!" I laugh and wave goodbye.

I walk back to school, still in my messed up hero costume and without the bag I had carried with me before being so rudely kidnapped.

"Good morning, Kan-Sensei!"

"Good morning, Monoma. Change into your uniform first, you're already late after all." Our teacher payed no mind to me and continued writing down the class' task for today on the blackboard.

My remaining thirteen classmates either stared at me blankly or glared sharply in my general direction. A thought entered my mind. If I rewind time...then I'll never have made the deal with the villains. If I rewind time, I only have one shot at saving Kendou and everyone else, because I'll have never gotten the powers, right ? But hey, if I rewind time, then I don't have to recruit villains for them! Wow, they are stupid! I sit down with a content smile. It seems everything is going to turn out all right.

...

"And that's how All Might's Bronze Age fuelled the start of the—"

The bell rang. I got up from my seat and walked out the door.

"Geez, sensei didn't even dismiss us yet..."

I walk up to my dorm room and discover that someone had taken Kendou, most likely to a funeral parlour. I sit down at my desk and focus.

"HOW THE HECK DOES THIS QUIRK WORK?!"
