Light Yagami was sitting in front of me.

How the hell was I meant to comprehend this? I mean, this was impossible, he's a fictional character, he's dead, he's- A mass murderer. I glanced up at him again, his gentle smile as he listened to the professor continue his lecture. Wait, how was he still in high school? And how is he still alive? I looked at the window, chin resting on the palm of my hand and sighed.

This can't be real. I got hit by a car, I definitely was in an accident. I had to be dreaming, in a coma, something other than this being reality. It was impossible, what was I supposed to do about it? If I knew how to get out of this, I would, but for now, I'd have to accept this fantasy. I had to admit though, this was pretty awesome.

Death Note, probably the worst and best place to be. I mean, if I got in Light's way, he could kill me! I suppose if I'm here, in a school, I'd probably have used my real name to sign up. Or maybe my parents would've. I paled; My parents, who were my parents here? They couldn't be the same in "reality", whatever that was now, it just wouldn't make sense. Not that this made sense anyway..

Biting my lip, I glanced at the calendar behind the professor's desk, apparently it was November 23rd, 2003, almost 13 years off of my "reality". Something was off about that date, something really off.

I looked back to Light, who was looking out of the window, tapping his pen on his desk. I chuckled, his intelligence above any of his classmates, this must bore him majorly! I was about to ask him if he was ok, until his eyes widened, suddenly attracted to something outside.

A black notebook fell from the sky, everything else in the world seemed to go silent. Light and I both silently watched as the book dropped to the ground in what seemed to be the courtyard. He didn't know I was watching him, but I knew what was going on in his head.

As soon as class ended, he was going to go and see what that notebook is, pocket it, test it and start judging the world as Kira.

We'll see about that, Light, we'll see who's smarter. What you don't know is that every move you're going to make has already happened and I'm going to stop you, save millions and put and end to Kira.

And to think, all this hasn't happened yet! I smiled as I realised, that I had the upper hand. L vs Kira, that's pretty much what Death Note was, the constant battle between good and evil, justice vs justice. You can add me to that battle, Light. I'll find L, I'll find him and we'll stop you. Maybe not yet, maybe I'll have to wait, play the game, hell, I might even join Light to stop him from suspecting me! But just when people start to fear Kira, just as they've out all their faith in a single form on justice, I'll be there, by L's side, making his next moves with him.

But if this was my new reality, then I could die, I could form attachments to people judged by the death note. I'm included in this story now and there's no turning back.

The end isn't that clear or simple anymore. I've made my decision and I'm sticking by it. Kira will fall and he will fall by my hand!

The bell rang and students filed out of the classrooms, ready to head home. Now was my time to shine.

Light had gathered his things and was about to stand, it's now or never, I told myself. "Um, hey.. Light, is it?" I stuttered, got to act like I'm new here, Light said (in the first chapter) that it was my first day here. My accent was still British even though people's accents in the english dub of Death Note had american accents, this worked to my advantage. Everyone probably thought I was an exchange student, probably didn't even know my way around Kanto. Acting like the new, ignorant girl would make my innocent act seem more reasonable. He turned and looked at me, with that same smile I wanted to punch off of his soon-to-be-murderer face.

"That's me, Light, what is it (y/n)?" He remembered my name, how sweet.

"Oh, well, I was just wondering... Um, if I could hang around with you after school? I really don't know my way around school or town, maybe you could... show me the ropes?" I smiled, (h/c) hair flopping over my left eye. He laughed, such an innocent laugh for a murderer.

"Sure! I'd be glad to show you around any time, it's nice that you asked me to help, I'm honoured. Say, do you have anyone to walk home with? I'd explain any queries you have about anything while we're walking, I saw you walking in front of me this morning, we must live close to each other!" I blushed slightly. He's such a gentleman, I thought to myself, I never noticed that in the anime or manga before.

We walked out into the front of the courtyard, chatting and laughing. He stopped by a drinks machine, pressed some money into my hands and told me to get whatever I wanted, since he had to do something for a few minutes. I accepted the handful of change and turned to get a Pepsi. I put the money into the machine and before I ordered the drink, I turned and glanced back to where he had headed.

He was picking up the Death Note.

And so it begins.

He scoffed and stuffed the book into his bag, heading back towards me. I turned back quickly, bought the Pepsi and greeted him as he approaches me.

"Sorry about that (y/n), ready to go?" I nodded as we walked towards the school gates. It took me a while before i realised that i was receiving a lot of jealous looks from groups of girls gathered around outside. Of course I was, I never really saw it, but Light was the "heartthrob" of the school, I mean, Misa and Takada were obsessed with him in the TV show! They're here as well, somewhere in this Death Note dimension, I'll probably meet them one day.

As soon as we were walking through town, memories started to come to me. A house, signing up for school, living by myself. Nothing about family or friends, I guess I really was transported into this world, I didn't exist here until a week ago apparently. The way home had also been put into my mind, it was the same route we were walking, strange. We kept walking, not splitting up until he stopped outside a house.

"Well, this is my stop. How about you? How far is your house from he-" He faltered as he saw where i was standing, outside my apparent house with a "SOLD" sign on the front. He started to laugh.

"Seriously? We're neighbours and I never even noticed? Wow, I am so sorry (y/n), how rude of me! I guess I really can help you around Kanto now!" He had walked up to me and patted me on the back. This couldn't have been better, I can keep an eye on him now.

"I guess so, Light! Anyway, I should probably head inside, long day at school! I'll see you later!" I found my keys and unlocked my front door, waving to Light as I closed the door.

I chuckled, because I knew of my inevitable success. Light Yagami, you are going down.

WOOOOOO! I uploaded this on my Black Butler fanfic by accident, that's why there's and AUTHORS NOTE OOPS chapter, I don't know how to delete chapters T_T
