"Hidan...?" I quietly knock on the door. I hear shuffling from the other side of the door before everything goes silent. I lean against the door and sigh. After a minute of standing there uselessly, I turn and face the door. "Please talk to me..." I place my hand against the door, as if he could actually touch it.
Seconds later, the door swings open. I stumble forward into Hidan's arms. "Hidan..."
He helps me gather my footing and slowly steps back a few paces. "Nioki, I already told you...I can't do this." He avoided eye contact but I could see the mixed emotions in his eyes.
"Can't do what Hidan?"
He glares at me. "You know damn well what I mean. Do NOT play dumb with me!"
"..." I hadn't a clue what to say.
"I'm not gonna be your second choice Nioki. You're not going to come to me just because he makes a wrong move that you don't like. I'm not going to sit here and watch you pick him with one arm out in case you need me. I'm not your convenience." He says with an eye roll.
I grab his hands. "Hidan...I am right here telling you that I want YOU. Deidara wanted another chance but here I am standing in front of you, telling you that I am yours..." I stop to look at him. "Maybe at one time Deidara was everything I wanted...but he's not the same Deidara I fell in love with. Hidan... I'm yours."
"But for how long?"
I tried to wrap my head around what he was so scared of. "What...what are you so afraid of Hidan?" My head was spinning.
"Damn it Nioki!" He takes a breath. "You love Deidara. Maybe he changed but that doesn't change your love for him. Love doesn't just die...you don't just give up."
I take slow steps towards him, placing a kiss on his lips. I feel his hands wrap around my hips, pulling me closer despite the mental resistance he was feeling. It's amazing: one kiss and suddenly he changed his mind. He pushed the uncertainty away and let me in.
