They went home and celebrated their birthday as planned. Jungkook could tell that all of them got sad but were still trying to find joy.

Jungkook followed closely behind, his eyes fixed on her, he doesn't like seeing her cry over others.

As she entered the living room, the warm glow of candles. He smiled, thinking how pretty she looks. Jungkook's expression, however, gradually darkened, she loves his family. But he wants her to love him only. Her world should revolve around him, and other than him, no one else should matter to her.

He couldn't help but wonder when he could claim her entirely, free from the influences of others, and create a family of their own—just her, him, and their future children.

The darkness within him, sinister promises of a future where she would be solely his.

She didn't notice the subtle change in his demeanor. After the birthday, Y/n came to him.

“I think I should leave, Thank you for letting me join.” Jungkook said.

"Thank you for everything," she said, turning to face him, her eyes sparkling with gratitude.

Jungkook's face softened, and he forced a gentle smile, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Anything for you," he whispered, his voice low and husky.

She was about to leave, but Jungkook held her arm. “Are you okay now?” He asked. She nodded her head. Jungkook saw Taehyung coming there.

Jungkook pulled her into a hug, she got so confused. He patted her head. “I didn't like seeing you cry. Take care of yourself.”

She chuckled, she never expected to see this side. She breaks the hug, before she could say anything, Taehyung came. He held her arm, “Taehyung,” She looked at him surprised.

“Jungkook, what are you doing here?” Taehyung asked. “Don't you know how to stay within your limits? How dare you hug my girlfriend?” Taehyung said with his eyes threatening Jungkook.

“Who is your girlfriend here? I told you we were done.” Y/n replied. Taehyung turned to her.

“We are not done until I say so.” Taehyung replied, he held her arm tightly. “I want to talk to you privately.”

Taehyung said and pulled Y/n away. At first Jungkook wanted to follow them, but he decided not to. It's not the time for him to interfere and show that he even cares.

With a final glance, Jungkook turned to leave. As he stepped out, a faint whistle escaped his lips, a sign of his satisfaction at having spent time with her.

His whistling stopped abruptly, when he spotted Soobin and Somi standing by their car.

Soobin's soothing words were barely audible as he comforted her. Soobin saw Jungkook and then told Somi to go inside. Somi kissed his cheek before turning. She was surprised to see Jungkook but then she quickly went inside.

“What was happening here?” Jungkook asked, as he walked closer as he held Soobin's collar. “Are you playing with her? I swear if you caused any problems between me and Y/n, I will kill you,”

“Hyung, stop. I love her okay? You think I am playing when I come to check on her because she told me she is sad?” Soobin asked and he was not lying, he really came without thinking. It was only when he arrived and he realized that it was unnecessary for him to care this much about her.

Jungkook let go of Soobin's collar. “How do I believe you?”

“I am serious.” Soobin said.

“I don't trust you.” Jungkook replied.

“Come on hyung, you have to trust your baby brother.’

“I know you, that is why I don't trust you.” Jungkook said.

“Don’t you think me and Somi look cute together?” Soobin exclaimed. Jungkook rolled his eyes.

“Don't change the topic, I will break your legs if I see you with another girl.” Jungkook said, Soobin put his arm over his shoulder.

“Don't worry, Somi is the one.” Soobin replied. Soobin saw Taehyung and Y/n, at the back, he could tell they were having an argument. “Are you not going to go there? What if they made up and she forgives him?” Soobin asked.

Jungkook shook his head, “I know Taehyung and I know how Y/n is. She will not tolerate Taehyung's behavior. Let's go home, I don't even need to do anything right now.”

____

“Since when you and Jungkook got so close for him to hug you?” Taehyung asked.

“Taehyung, I want you to leave, I am already tired. I have already ended things with you,” Y/n said. He holds her arm pulling her close to him.

“You can't end things with me.” Taehyung exclaimed.

“This is so unbelievable Taehyung, look at your attitude, your mom has caused enough drama for today.” Y/n said.

“My mother? Are you serious Y/n? She caused drama? Have you ever seen yourself? How you act like a mean impulsive person? You even kicked my mother out of the house.

“I did it, because she was disrespecting my parents.” She replied.

“That doesn't mean you can disrespect her,” Taehyung said.

“What did you want me to do? Stand there while she was questioning my parents for raising me as a gold digger? When I didn't even know that you were from a wealthy family?” Y/m asked.

“Mom just wanted to see you.” Taehyung said. “You should have informed me, except for insulting her, she was so hurt.”

“And me? You know how hurt I was?  you can't stay here either, the way you disrespect my love.”

“Love?” Taehyung asked and he moved closer to her. “Was it love Y/n? Or was it you trying to find a puppy? Who you can use.”

“Yeah, right. I don't love you. I don't even know you, who exactly you are.” She exclaimed.

“You are accepting it, it was just me who loved you meanwhile you,”

“Are you serious, Taehyung? You lied to me about everything and still come here and try to say I am wrong?” Y/n asked.

Taehyung sighed, he put his hands on his waist.“I am sorry, what else can I do to make up for it? I really wasn't trying to play with your emotions.”

“There is nothing you can do now, I don't accept your sorry-” She stopped as suddenly he punched the wall beside her, making her flinch.

“I AM SORRY WHAT ELSE YOU WANT?!” He yelled.

She stared at him surprised. “It's better if you leave.”

“Do you really want me to leave? Will you live without me?” He questioned.

“Yes, just leave me alone.”

Y/n checked the file and placed her resignation form in it. She took it and decided to go to Jungkook's office. She can't work in the office anymore. Especially not after what happened last night.

As Y/n reached the office door she received a call, she picked it up, it was her mom.

~ “Y/n, I came to the hospital to pay the bills from last night but they were already paid.” her mother said.

“Already paid? Who paid them?” She asked.

~ “The hospital said your boss did.” Her mother told her.

“Mom, I will talk to you later.” Y/n said and hung up the call. She knocked on the door and went inside Jungkook's office, who was working on his laptop.

He closed the laptop and looked at her. “Yes?”

“You paid the hospital bills of my father?” she said.

“I didn't, the company did.” Jungkook replied.

“I don't want anything from you or your family.” Y/n said.

“You aren't, are you forgetting you are an employee in our company? It's the company rules, no one is doing anything for you.” Jungkook exclaimed, he pointed at her hand. “What's that?”

“Resignation letter, I can't work here.” She said she needs the job more now. She wants to help her father, he is the only one earning in her household and he has cancer.

But she can't work in Taehyung's company either.

“Hmm,” he took the paper and stared at it. “I have lifted the blacklist from your name, you will soon get a job in the companies you like.” He said.

“You did?” She asked.

He didn't, still he doesn't allow any other company to hire her.

“Yes, the problems between us are cleared right? But until you find a new job please continue working here. Also I know it's too much for you but I thought you were not the type to run away.” Jungkook said. She shook her head.

“It's not that I was never meant to be here. I want to continue journalism.” She said, Jungkook wants her to still work for him, for her he can even open a new business, just so she can work under him and be In Front of his eyes.

“You can.” Jungkook said.

“Mr. Jeon, I really don't like the way you are feeling pity for me.” Y/n exclaimed he smiled and walked closer to Y/n.

“It's not that, I don't pity you. But I started caring about you.” He replied. “I would have said we are friends now, but I don't think we are that either are we?”

She shook her head. “We are not.”

“Good, I don't want to be your friend either.” he wants to be more than that. “Now go and buy me the brownies that you brought the other day.”

“Suddenly? Right now?” She asked.

“I am still your boss, and it's my order. Now go. Until you find a new job, you are still working for me.” Jungkook exclaimed. She nodded her head and left the office.

As she came out of the office, she saw Taehyung's mom. Who looked at Y/n. “I am still surprised that you still work here.” She said.

“I do,” she replied.

“Oh about the other day, I had no clue that you weren't aware of Taehyung being rich, but then Taehyung told me that he was testing you to make sure you are not a gold digger.” His mother said, making Y/n shock. She felt more hurt Taehyung not only lied to her but he was also doubting her intentions. “I still believe you are a filth, it doesn't even matter if you are a gold digger or not, cheap blood is cheap.”

Taehyung's mother saw Taehyung arriving there and her tone changed as Taehyung stood near them. “I want to apologize, give him a chance.” His mother said.

Y/n left suddenly. Meanwhile Taehyung was confused. He was about to go follow him, but his mother stopped. “I tried. I don't understand why this girl is so rude. I apologized to her. If you say  I will apologize again.”

Taehyung sighed, “It's fine, mom. I will handle this. You don't have to worry.”

Somi walked out of the college building, lost in thoughts, when she heard her name being called.

"Somi!" Yeonjun's voice echoed through the parking lot.

Somi turned to see Yeonjun standing by his car, his eyes fixed intently on her.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" Yeonjun asked, his tone low and serious.

Somi hesitated, But Yeonjun's expression seemed sincere.

"Okay," Somi agreed, cautiously approaching him.

Yeonjun opened the passenger door. "Get in. I'll drive us somewhere quiet."

Somi's instincts screamed warning, but Yeonjun's calm demeanor reassured her.

"Where are we going?" Somi asked, settling into the seat.

"Somewhere we can talk without interruptions," Yeonjun replied, starting the engine.

As they drove away from the city, Somi's unease grew.

"Yeonjun, what's this about?" Somi pressed, trying to keep her voice steady.

Yeonjun's gaze remained fixed on the road. He stops the car and turned to her.

"Somi, listen," Yeonjun slurred, his words tumbling out in a rush. "I have to tell you. I've been wanting to say this for so long."

Somi's heart skipped a beat as Yeonjun's gaze locked onto hers, his eyes burning with an unsettling intensity.

"Soobin is not right for you," Yeonjun said. "He is really not a good person, Somi. He doesn't see how amazing you are. He will hurt you, he is not serious about you, I am telling you that,”

Before Somi could process his words, Yeonjun's hands grasped her face, his fingers digging into her skin. His breath reeked of alcohol as he leaned in, his face inches from hers.

"I see you, Somi," Yeonjun whispered, his voice cracking. "I see how beautiful you are, inside and out. I love you, Somi. I love you so much."

Somi's shock turned to fear as Yeonjun's words spilled out in a confession. His eyes seemed to plead with her, his touch bordering on desperation.

"Yeonjun, stop," Somi said, trying to push him away, but he held firm.

"No, listen," Yeonjun urged, his voice rising. "You deserve someone who loves you truly. Someone like me."

Somi's heart racing, she tried to reason with him. "Yeonjun, you're drunk. You don't mean this."

But Yeonjun's grip only tightened, his eyes wild with emotion.

"I mean every word," he whispered, his lips inches from hers.

Somi's fear spiked, and she knew she had to escape.

"Yeonjun, let me go," Somi demanded, her voice firm.

For a moment, Yeonjun's gaze locked onto hers. He released Somi, stumbling backward as if awakened from a dream.

Somi took a step back, her heart still racing. "Yeonjun, I think you should go."

Yeonjun's eyes dropped, shame washing over his face. "I'm sorry, Somi. I didn't mean to scare you. I love you.”

He tried to kiss her but Somi pushed him and left the car. She was so scared that she started running, and suddenly she got pulled into an alley.

And someone put a cloth over her mouth and nose. She tried to break free herself but she fainted in a few minutes. Soobin lifted her body up, “It truly hurt me that you trusted another man and went in his car, despite having a boyfriend. You are so dumb and pure for this world Somi. You deserve a lesson.”
