Distraction

After a tense day at the studio, Stevie wanted nothing more than to relax. She was constantly keeping up appearances for Jimmy. He was already jealous and she tried her best not to let on that anything was going on between she and Tom.

"Stevie, let's head out." Jimmy said, calling her up from the couch where she sat with Mike, discussing his work on the Heartbreakers album they were working on.

"I'm talking" Stevie said.

"I want to leave." he said firmly. "I need sleep. I've got meetings and stuff all day. Then I'm flying back to New York. You should be packing. You're still coming, right?"

Everyone looked at Stevie and she felt her cheeks getting hot. "I can't just fly to New York with you. I have to work on my music, Jimmy. Tom and I were going to work on Insider, and some more little fine-tuning things for Stop Draggin' My Heart Around."

"So you're going to stay here?"

"Well, I do live here."

"What are you going to do when I'm gone?"

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe I'll pine for a while and when I'm bored of that, well, I'll just have to sit by the phone waiting for your call. Or better yet, stare longingly out the window, begging you to come back to me." Stevie rolled her eyes. "Jesus, my world doesn't revolve around you! I have plenty to do, people to see."

"Fine, Stevie. Do what you want."

"I can't do this anymore, Jimmy."

"Do what?"

"I'm done." Jimmy stared at her in disbelief. "I don't think we should see each other anymore."

"If that's how you want it, good luck to anyone who comes after me. You're the most impossible person I've ever met!" He left the room and once again, Stevie felt all eyes on her.

"Can you give us a minute?" Tom asked, looking around at the gawking members of his band. As the men walked out, Tom followed them to shut the door.

"You're done too, aren't you?" Stevie asked, the tears she had been holding in finally falling down her cheeks.

"No, I'm not done. I don't know what this is or what it will be but I'm here for you."

"You mean, hearing that I'm impossible and witnessing our argument didn't scare you off? Any man with any sense at all would have run for the hills." She sniffed, wiping her eyes.

"Then I guess it's a good thing I don't have any sense." he said, nudging her gently as he sat down next to her.

She giggled. "Thanks, Tom."

"No problem." It was quiet for a few moments.

"You wanna bring the guys back so we can work?"

"Nah, we've had enough excitement for today."

"Yeah."

"Hey, do you wanna come over tonight? Maybe we can get your mind off work."

"That would be great."

"You came with him, right?" She nodded. "Gimme a couple minutes and we can take my car." Tom took care of everything while Stevie collected her things as well as her thoughts. She had ended things with Jimmy, he left without her and was probably pretty mad. As she thought about it, of course he would feel that way; she was sleeping with someone else right under his nose. She found herself falling for Tom, wanting to spend all of her time with him. She didn't want to be without him now. Tom returned to her and she smiled. Her heart skipped a beat, just like a schoolgirl with a crush. "I'm ready if you wanna hit the road."

"I'm more than ready."

Tom chuckled. "After the day you've had, I'm not surprised. Anything you want for dinner?"

"Not really."

"I guess we'll think of something once we get back to my house." He extended his hand and she held it, following him out to his car. He opened the door for her and she got inside, waiting for him to join her. He started it up and sped off down the road. "Need to grab anything from your place?"

"Why?"

"You're staying the night, aren't you?"

She smiled. "If you want me to."

"I would." He flashed her a wicked smile, his icy blues looking into her soul. He knew she wanted it too. At a red light, he kissed her and she bit her lip, anxious for the drive to be over.

As they pulled into the driveway, Tom winked at her and got out to open her car door. He held out a hand and she gladly took it, following him up the front walk to the door. She stepped inside and laid down her things as he turned on the lights.

"Make yourself at home" he said. "What is it they say, mi casa es su casa?"

She giggled. "That's right." She unzipped her boots slowly, her feet aching from being in her feet all day. She felt eyes on her and looked up.

"Need some help with that?" Tom asked.

Stevie smirked. "You could...if you're up for it."

She stood up to her full diminutive height and he wrapped his arms around her. "Wanna go upstairs? Might help us work up an appetite for dinner." He buried his head in the crook of her neck, her eyes becoming hazy with desire before closing softly. He nibbled and sucked the tender skin just below her ear, his hands roaming south to squeeze her back side. He pressed forward, walking her backward to the staircase, shedding clothes as they made their way up. Hitting the first landing he pinned her to the wall and made his way from her neck to her shoulder.

"I need you" she whispered.

"I need you too." She could feel his arousal pressed to her stomach, moaning softly. He encouraged her thighs apart, lifting her legs up to wrap around his waist. They both groaned, the urgency building as the heat rose from their bodies. She wiped the sweat from his forehead, draping her arms around his neck as he carried her the rest of the way up the stairs. Once they got to his bedroom, he pushed her easily back-first  through the door. They stumbled, falling onto the bed in a heap, giggling like teenagers afraid of being caught. He climbed over her like an animal, pressing kisses in random places before finally reaching her neck again. "What are you thinking about?" he asked.

"Nothing" she breathed, almost going limp as a rag doll as he pulled her into his deceptively strong arms.

"Good" he told her, attacking her mouth with his tongue.
