Chapter Fifteen - A Discussion to the Truth

Waking up the next day, I feel rejuvenated. I look over at Derek to see he was still asleep. I decide to leave him be for a while since he needed the rest.

As I lay there tracing the lines over his body, Derek starts to stir. "That's definitely a nice way to wake up." He mumbles in the pillow.

I smiled at him and snuggled into him more. He chuckled a bit while tightening his grip on me.

After an hour, we were up and dressed. I went down into the kitchen while Derek went to check on some Alpha stuff first.

As I walked in, I see a blonde haired guy eating cereal. I know I haven't seen him before, though I have been out four days too.

I grab some cereal and sit across from the blonde guy. He looks at me and gives me a cheeky grin. "Well hello there Luna. Nice to finally meet you. The name's Trav." He says cheerfully while extending his hand out.

I chuckle while shaking his hand. "Please just call me Mila. Nice to meet you Trav."

We spoke for five minutes before Derek came down with Chris and Greg behind him. He's actually quite funny and I suspect we're going to be good friends.

When Derek spotted Trav he smiled and shook his hand. "Welcome back. It has been far too quiet without my Gamma."

"Yeah, you had to find your Luna while I was visiting another pack. But I think we'll get along pretty well." Trav beams.

Derek seems to remember I'm there finally and reintroduced everyone. "Since he's our Gamma, his job now that I have you is to keep you safe. Well, as safe as he can. If we ever go away he'll be with us to keep you safe from any threats if I'm not there."

Oh so he'll be like my body guard...

We all enjoy having a laugh while catching up. Trav missed Alisha challenging me and the rogue attack that hurt me so he was blown away to find out that all happened.

"Bloody hell. You sure put up a good fight, at least from what I'm hearing.  So many Lunas just enjoy the easy life and have pups. It'll make the pack strong to know you would protect them."

After we were done, I told Derek I wanted to know what the rogue told him. He was reluctant at first but told me still.

"I want to go talk to him now, please."

Derek didn't want me in the cells, but after I told him I'm going with or without him he agreed. Not until after he said as long as Trav joins us too.

So Trav Derek and I are going down to the rogues cell to speak with him.

*************

We're currently out the front of his cell when I pull up a chair out and place it in front of him.

"Greetings Luna. I'm glad to see you're awake now." The rogue greets me.

"Yes well, I can thank your leader for that..." I retort.

"He's no leader of mine anymore, miss. He'll be shipping me off if I show my face again... I guess you've come to inform me of my fate now?"

I think about it carefully before speaking. "I guess so but I have my own questions first."

"Right-o, I'll answer as good as I can."

"Firstly, what's your name? I'm Mila."

He looks at me curiously before smiling. "The name's Sam."

"Did you hold back fighting me?" Trav and Derek look confused by my question. "Mila, what does that-" before Trav finishes his question I hold my hand up to stop him.

Looking back at Sam expectantly. He  nods slightly, "Yeah I did. I'll happily fight and kill someone but they have to have wronged me or at least be a fair fight. I didn't see five men on one woman as a fair fight."

"Ok. I thought as much... Can we trust you?"

His head perks up so he's looking into my eyes. "Yes Luna, that I can promise." He replies, never breaking eye contact. His eyes pleading for me to believe him.

"Ok, one last question. Do you know anything about the hunters? Names, faces, locations. Anything?" I ask hopeful that we can at least learn about them.

"I know bits and pieces but not heaps. Mainly my old leader and his "Beta" see them, but I've seen their second in command once." He says using his fingers when saying Beta.

"He's tall with a lot of muscle for a human, black hair and almost black eyes. He has a scar on his face, ugly thing too." He describes while almost shivering at the thought.

"I have no clue for location but honestly cant be more then a state or two over, just with travel times alone. But they don't just kill wolves, they torture them."

He looks afraid of going there and honestly, I'd never condemn someone to that life.

"Do you genuinely want to join our pack, Sam?" I ask. As I'd hate to force something he doesn't want, and I knew even fighting him that he wasn't wanting to kill me.

"Yes! Please give me a chance to prove myself, I never had a choice before this." He pleads while looking me in the eyes.

"You did still try to harm me, I can't just let you walk out..." his face drops hearing my words. "But... I'm going to have you moved to the higher cells for pack members. You'll be there until you served two weeks, minus time served. You'll have a bed and fresh clothes but still serve the time. After that we can introduce you to that pack and the situation will go over smoother. Does that sit well with everyone?"

I look at everyone waiting to see there reaction.

"It is actually a pretty good idea. The  pack will like that he's not getting away with his input but also respect that he served time for his actions." Trav speaks up.

"Honestly, I'm happy to spend as long as needed in here if I can have this second chance. Thank you, Luna." Sam says with genuine appreciation on his face.

"You need to understand, one slip up that puts people in danger and there will be no second chances. Am I clear?" Derek asks with authority.

"Certainly Alpha. Thank you, both."

We call the guard over to take him to the showers and bring him fresh clothes, explaining his new arrangements. He nods and proceeds to unlock the cell when I stop Sam suddenly.

A weird realisation hits me like cold water... "This second in command, does his scar start somewhere above his eye brow and go to his jaw?"

Derek's giving me a questioning look while Sam simply nods.

"Mila, what's that mean? Do you know him?" Derek asks seeing my face become angry.

"That's the fùćķìńģ pŕìćķ that killed Rory... he scratched that guy at the same time the shot went off..."

I'll never forget because I'd hoped he bled out.

As those words left my mouth, Dereks realised the same thing as me.

The hunter that took my brothers life was still alive and well...

And he was working for someone who had made a deal with rogues...

We needed to be prepared, incase they came back into our territory.

If we see him again, he wont live after I'm done with him...
