Chapter 12

You and Jungkook looked at him, wide-eyed.

"My f-father?" You started shaking. "That's impossible. My dad left when I was little, I-I haven't seen him since." You said.

"That's what your mother told you?" He scoffed. "The nerve of that woman."

"How can you be so sure that you're my dad?"

"Our birthmarks, they're the same. I noticed that when you were first born. Also, I have this picture." He pulled a picture of him and you from his wallet.

        "That's me." You whispered.

"Taken 15 years ago." He smiled and hugged you again. "After all these years, I finally found you. You've gotten so big." He pulled away. "We have to catch up." He said.

"What do you mean that's what my mother told you? Are you saying she lied?"

"I'll explain everything to you. We shoud go and get coffee, do you drink coffee?"

        "I prefer tea."

"Well we should go get some and talk."

"I have to take Jungkook home first." You said. Your 'father' looked at Jungkook then back to you.

"Alright. Meet me at that cafe over there." He said, pointing across the street. "

"Okay." You and Jungkook got in the car and you just sat there, gripping the wheel.

"Do you really think that he's your dad?" Jungkook asked.

"I don't know, but I'm going to find out. Jungkook, when I take you home, tell the others that I'm going to visit Junie for a little bit. I don't want them to get into a frenzy or something. So don't mention anything that just happened, okay?"

"Arraso, noona." You dropped Jungkook off and went to the coffee shop. You walked in and found the man who claims to be your father sitting at a table with a coffee and a peice of cake. You sat across from him.

"You came." He said. You nodded. "Do you want me to buy you something?"

        "Aniyo, gwenchana."

        "Nonsense, do you like muffins?"

        "Yes, but-"

"I'll be right back." He left and came back with a muffin and a cup of tea. "I didn't know what kind of tea or muffins you like so I got you a blueberry muffin and green tea." He set them infront of you.

"I'm alergic to blueberries." You said quietly. He looked at you.

"Oh, I'm sorry. That just goes to show how much I don't know about my own daughter. Here, you can take my cake." He swapped the muffin with the cake. You figured it was pointless to fight it so you thanked him. "You're 18 now, right?" He asked.

        "Yeah."

"Are you out of your mothers place?"

"Pretty much. So are you going to explain what's going on?"

"Right. When you were born, everything was fine. You were healthy and happy, so I was happy. The only thing that I had my doubts about was your mom. We weren't married when she had you and I asked her to marry me many times, but she kept saying not right now, I'm not ready, she was acting really weird towards me. When you were 4 years old, she told me she didn't love me anymore and that she was leaving and taking you with her. I loved your mom, and when she said that, I was heart broken. I tried everything to convince her to stay and she agreed, but the next morning when I woke up, you both were gone. I tried calling her, no answer. I tried calling her family members but they said they haven't heard from her. She left a note saying that she was sorry and she doesn't want me to look for her because I will never find her. I tried looking for her anyway, but she was right. I couldn't find her anywhere. I started to think that she left the country." You sat there staring at him.

"She's the one who left? Not you?" You asked. He nodded.

"I didn't want you to leave."

"Why would my mom say that it was you who left?"

"Probably because she didn't want to play the bad guy." You let all of the information to set in and you sat back in the chair. "What's your mom up to now anyway?"

"She went out of town for a month or longer taking care if a sick relative." You said.

"Mm. What about you? Where do you live? Do you go to school?"

"I go to Seoul National University." He smiled.

        "Are your grades good?"

        "I'm getting by."

"Do you live on campus?" You shook your head. "Oh, you have your own place?"

        "I live with roommates."

        "Oh, are they nice?"

"Yeah. What about you? Did you remarry?"

"Actually, yes. I married a woman who already had a daughter from a previous relationship, she's a couple years younger than you."

"Oh, mom didn't remarry." There was a long pause. "If you have nothing else to say, I should get going." You stood up.

"Wait, I want you to meet your step-mom and step-sister." He said. You thought about it for a second and agreed. You both got in the car and drove to his house.

"Wah, your house is huge." You said. "It's a mansion, I'm the CEO of Mandok."

"Mandok? That's the largest electronics company in the world." You said. He chuckled.

         "I'm well aware."

"Does your new family know about me?" You asked.

"Yes, but I'm going to go in and tell them first then bring you in. Wait here." He left to inform the family, then came out to get you. "Here she is." Your dad said. Your 'step-mom' gasped and slowly walked towards you.

"(Y/n), you're much prettier than I imagined." She hugged you.

"(Y/n), this is my wife, Haejung."

         "Annyeonghaseyo." You greeted.

        "And this is my step-daughter-"

         "Hana?" You cut him off.

"You know each other?" He asked.

"You're that unnie that was with Jin oppa when you came to get Jungkook from school." You nodded.

"Please, have lunch with us." Haejung said. You agreed. As the food was being prepared, You and Hana got to talk.

"So, how did you know my name? Did your dad tell you?" Hana asked.

"Ani, Jungkook told me." You said.

        "J-Jungkook told you?" She blushed.

         "You like him, don't you?"

"W-What? I, uh, yeah. I like him a lot." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I knew it. Now, I don't know if I should tell you this or let him tell you, but he likes you too." You said.

        "J-Jinjah?" You nodded.

"Girls, lunch is ready!" Your step mom called. You and Hana left the living room and went to eat. Suddenly, your phone went rang, it was Jungkook.

        "Yeoboseyo?"

"You're busted. Taehyung called Junie to confirm and she said that she hasn't seen you a day. They all looked at me and I ran away, now they want answers out of me! I locked myself in the bathroom!" Jungkook cried. "They tried tickling me and bribing me, but I managed to get away." He said.

"Jungkook, just tell them that I'll be home soon and explain everything."

"Arraso, but I'm not leaving the bathroom until you get home." You laughed.

         "Go ahead."

        "Hurry!."

You hung up and Hana was watching you with interest.

        "That was Jungkook?" She asked.

        "Yeah."

        "Who's Jungkook?" Your dad asked.

"Remember the boy that was with me when we bumped into each other?"

        "Oh, that's his name?"

"How do you know Jungkook anyway?" Hana asked.

"Oh, well," You didn't want to lie because it might come back to hurt you. "We sort of, live together."

        "You l-live together?"

"Yes, but it's not like that. I stay in the same house as him and 6 other guys."

"Guys?!" Your dad asked. "It's not like that either! It's just, they're not bad people."

"Well I want to meet them."

"Dad, please." You said. He started to smile.

"You called me dad." He said. His face got serious again. "But I still want to meet them."

"Well, can it be another time? They don't even know about you, except Jungkook."

"Alright." After lunch, your dad took you back to your car that was still at the cafe and you drove home. When you walked in the house, everyone was yelling at you.

        "Where have you been?"

        "Why didn't you call?"

"You told little Jungkookie to keep your secret?"

        "Why did you lie?"

"Hey!" Everyone shut up. "Okay, I wasn't at Junie's, I was at my dad's."

"Your dad's?" Yoongi asked. "The one who left?" You nodded.

"I found him. He explained everything to me. I was at his house and met his new wife and daughter. Speaking of daughter, Jungkook, you will never believe who his step daughter is."

        "Who?"

        "Hana."
