Chapter~14
"Hey babe, care to accompany me to the village? We're running out of food." Eleanor says, peeking into her room where she left the blue eyed lad.
Louis glances up at her with a smile, "sure thing, love."
Though he's still skeptical about her, he decides to just go along with the information his 'girlfriend' had told him a few days ago.
She wouldn't lie to him, right?
------
As the couple stepped into the village, they're immediately greeted by a few confused stares from the village people.
"Uh, El? Why are they staring?" Louis asks quietly.
"I don't know. Just ignore them."
The feathery haired lad nods in response, not knowing anything else to do but follow his 'girlfriend'.
He finds it odd that whenever they approach a stand, the sales man or woman behind it gives him a look of confusion, but the second they make eye contact with Eleanor, they pause before going back to what they were doing, not giving Louis a single glance after.
"Come along, babe, let's go to the bakery." The brunette links their arms together, beginning to lead them away, but Louis halts them to a stop, pointing behind them.
"There's a bakery over there?"
Eleanor reads the sign above it and stiffens.
'Corden's Pastries'
"Y-yeah but uh, I know a better bakery that bakes delicious pastries so, let's go."
She avoids the lad's gaze, grabbing him by the arm and practically dragging him away, not wanting to get caught or seen by any familiar faces that may slowly wear off the spell she has on Louis.
What the couple didn't know was that they were secretly being watched by two certain birds that were now flying off into the direction of the castle.
______
Harry was in the middle of reading a book when two little creatures swooped into his room and perched themselves on each of his shoulders. He smiles widely at seeing their presence.
"Lucy! Holly! It's lovely to see you both again!" The boy exclaims joyfully, closing his book and placing it next to him on his bed, "where have you two been?"
Holly chirps as she nods to her friend, both Swallows beginning to fly again as they grip at the fabric of Harry's suit with their feet.
"Uh, what are you doing?" The young Prince asks, even though he knows he won't get an answer.
An idea pops into Lucy's mind and she hurriedly flies into Harry's closet, coming back with a long piece of ribbon and offering it to the boy.
To their luck, Harry takes the other end of the cloth and allows the little bird to lead him to wherever she's taking him, Holly flying right beside her.
The second Harry realizes they've led him to the music room, his thoughts are immediately filled with memories of Louis teaching him how to play the piano.
-
"Alright then, why don't you play me something?"
"U-uh, I'm not really good a-and-"
"Haz, that's why I'm here."
-
"Why have you brought me here?"
The boy watches his bird friends perch themselves on the piano keys, and he honestly thought they'd begin playing it.
To his surprise and astonishment though, they actually did.
And it was the ballad Louis had taught him how to play.
"Louis..." He mutters, and the music stopped. His eyes avert back to the two Swallows who now stare at him hopefully.
"Why did you stop? Was it something I said?"
Lucy and Holly chirp at the same time.
"What? All I said was Louis?"
Even saying his name brought pain to his heart.
He misses him so much...
More chirping emitted from the little creatures, as if they were trying to tell him something.
"I don't know what you're saying, girls, I'm sorry."
Still fully determined, Holly places one of her wings on the piano keys as Lucy rests her own on top of Holly's, reenacting the scene of Louis helping Harry play the piano.
"I still don't... Oh! You've seen Louis?"
The swallows chirp, nodding their heads.
"C-can you take me to him?"
They repeat their previous action.
Excitement bubbled inside the young Prince as he dashes out the music room, following his bird friends when a head of blonde hair stops him in his tracks.
"Haz, where do you think you're going?"
"Out." He replies shortly.
Niall raises a brow at him, "why?"
"Because! Louis!"
"You know where he is?"
Harry nods anxiously.
"How?"
The Prince groans internally, hating that he's wasting time, "Lucy and Holly told me!"
"Your bird friends?" Niall swears his friend is going nuts.
"Yes! Now let me-" before Harry can run off, the blonde servant boy grabs his wrist and states strictly, "Prince Harry, might I remind you of your father's orders that you are not allowed to leave the castle?"
"I know that, Niall." The curly haired Prince whines, "But I really want to see Louis. Please cover for me?"
Seeing the desperation in the boy's eyes, Niall sighs and gives in, "Fine...you owe me a plate of creampuffs though."
"Help yourself to my stash in the kitchen." A smile finally broke onto Harry's face.
"YES. Good luck on finding your knight in shining armor." His best mate winks.
"Whatever, Ni." Is the last thing he says to the boy before sprinting off, right on the tail of his bird friends leading the way.
______
Liam was on his lunch break when he spotted a familiar head of curls run passed the music shop, following a couple of- wait, are those Swallows?
Curious, the puppy eyed lad abandoned his half-eaten sandwich to find out what the Prince of Donshire is doing.
"Harry! Wait up!" He calls out, catching the attention of the boy as he stopped in his tracks to look back at him, "what are you doing, mate?" He asks, a tad out of breath from chasing him.
"Looking for Louis! Listen, I don't have time to explain how I know he's here just- follow me!"
Liam nods understandingly and runs beside the younger lad.
The two birds halt at a bakery, having both boys come to a stop and stare at them expectantly.
"Is he in there?"
Just as the words escape Harry's mouth, two figures exit the bakery, one being unfamiliar while the other had the young Prince squealing in joy.
"LOUIS!!!"
The blue eyed lad jumped at the sudden voice, eyes landing on Harry who was on the verge of tears.
Liam stayed a few steps behind, letting the two have their moment.
Oblivious to the confused look the older boy is giving him, the young Prince surges forward and embraces him in a tight hug.
"I missed you so much, boo! Where have you been? I thought you left a-and cheated on me for a second I-"
Someone clearing their throat cuts off Harry's blabbering.
Eleanor stood angrily behind Louis, arms crossed, "what are you doing with my boyfriend, Prince?"
"B-...boyfriend?" Harry sputtered, looking at her in disbelief, "w-what-"
"Oh don't play dumb with me! You know he's mine! You just want to trick him into thinking you're a good guy and then beating him up once he falls for it!"
Liam stepped closer to a speechless looking Harry and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Louis, who is this b*tch? She's freaking Harry out. Whatever stupid prank this is, stop it. It isn't funny."
"Prank? I'm not pranking anybody! It isn't funny, you say? Well did you think that when you left me all alone in the woods? No!"
"What are you-?"
"SHUT UP!"
Both Harry and Liam stare at Louis in shock and confusion, not knowing what's gotten into him.
"And you!" The younger boy realized he was talking to him, "you bloody heartless monster! How dare you kill my family and cause me amnesia! Now all I have is my girlfriend who told me everything you've done!"
Girlfriend...
The very word made Harry nauseas. He knows something isn't right with Louis at the moment but Princess Averie's words keep echoing in his mind.
You're an idiot for falling for him.
Can't you see? He's only with you for the throne! The power! The riches!
Hah, he could even be cheating on you behind your back!
And you wouldn't know cause you're an oblivious fool!
The younger lad was too deep in thought to notice Louis approach him and wasn't prepared for what he was about to do.
"You had your fun pushing me. Now, it's my turn to return the gesture."
Eleanor smirks as she watches Louis harshly push the Prince to the ground, resulting for the boy to land on his back.
Liam was by his side in an instant. He was too late to have stopped Louis and wasn't even expecting him to do such a thing. Especially to his boyfriend.
"H, are you alright?" He asks, helping the boy to sit up.
Harry, however, doesn't hear what he says. Liam's voice seemed so far away and his chest ached. He tried looking up at him but his vision was fuzzy with black dots appearing everywhere he looked.
"Li...b-bring me back to-...to the castle...please." He mutters weakly, closing his eyes and leaning his head on the puppy eyed lad's shoulder.
"Okay, H. I got you, don't worry."
Liam situates the boy in his arms before standing up with him carefully, carrying him bridal style. It was a good thing nobody else was around to witness what just happened.
When he turned to look at Louis and his 'girlfriend', he finds a hint of worry in his best friend's eyes before it disappears and is replaced with a glare.
"You better realize or snap out of whatever spell you're in, Lou, because as of now, I can't bare to look at you after what you did to Harry."
With that said, he begins walking to the direction of the castle, not caring if his shift at the music shop started without him there, his friend needed him more.
