(Y/N) walked to school with eyes as lifeless as a doll's. Her movements resemble that of a robot. Everyone in the school stepped away from the suddenly-emotionless girl as she sat on her seat. Star and Marco stared at their friend with concerns and worries completely visible in their eyes.

''H-Hey, (Y/N)! Nice morning today, huh?'' Star leans closer to (Y/N) with an attempt to at least make her smile. ''Mh...'' Is all she said, barely even audible to Star's ears. ''How was your weekend? Did you spend time with Jeremy and your parents?'' Star rests her head on (Y/N)'s desk and looks up to her.

Star realized that her skin was pale. I mean, she was sort of pale from the moment they met but the pale she's realizing right now is equivalent to that of a dead person's. It feels like life was being sucked out of (Y/N).

''I prefer to be alone than to be with my family. They are a nuisance.'' (Y/N) rests her head on her palm while looking outside the window, avoiding eye contact with Star.

''Aw, come on, (Y/N). Don't be like that! They were pretty-''

''Did you not hear me? I want to be alone. You may be my friend but i might have to throw our friendship away if you keep on bothering me like a fly who has nothing else to do but to fly around people's ears.'' Star stood up from (Y/N)'s seat in disbelief. She felt like she was seeing someone else other than (Y/N).

''If you understand, leave me alone.'' Her voice was cold but monotonous.

''I....'' Star wanted to say something, just anything to make (Y/N) snap out of it. But, she can't do it. She doesn't want other people to hate her, especially if it's one of her friends. She sighs and looks away, rubbing her arm with the other.

''I understand. I'll leave you alone.'' Star followed (Y/N)'s request and went back to her seat. She never felt the pain of being insulted by a friend before so it hurt her. Very much. It doesn't help that (Y/N) sits beside her.

''Hey, don't worry, Star. She'll be back soon. We'll try to snap her out of that phase, okay? If we succeed, let's go to that smoothie shop again.'' Marco rubs Star's back in a comforting manner. She looks at Marco and gently smiles. Star nods and feels like her enthusiastic state is back once more.

After Marco comforts Star, he glances back at (Y/N) with uncertainty. She was just looking at the teacher and listening intently while writing down some notes that was posted on the board. Miss Skullnick wasn't able to go to the school today so she just left us some notes to copy so that she can discuss it tomorrow. Though i wonder why she wasn't able to go.

Time lapse to Lunch Time

(Y/N) stands up from her seat to go out of the classroom but just as she stood up, Marco went towards (Y/N) and grabbed both of her hands. She flinched softly at the contact but still remained composed.

''Let's eat lunch together! I'll get you anything that you want to eat today!'' Marco grins at the offer. (Y/N), however, didn't and retracted both of her hands away from Marco's grip. ''I told you and Star already that i want to be alone. Besides, i don't want to eat any of those nasty cafeteria foods.'' (Y/N) walks past Marco but he grabs her hand once more.

''I'll have you know that those 'nasty cafeteria foods' are your favorite.'' Silence engulfed the two for a moment before (Y/N) retracted her hand from Marco's once more. ''Since i don't have any other choice since you'll basically just keep on pestering me, i'll accept your offer.''

''(Y/N)'s going to be sitting with us for lunch!? Is she back to normal!?'' Star dashes towards the two with sparkles glittering around her sea blue eyes. ''Star, please shut your mouth. My ears are bleeding.'' (Y/N) rolled her eyes and rubbed both of her ears. Star decreased the volume of her voice but still stayed happy.

After all, they're one step ahead of bringing (Y/N) back to normal!

Once they reached the cafeteria, Marco turned around and looked at (Y/N) hopefully. ''What do you want to eat today?'' (Y/N) stared at the menu board that hung at the top of the cafeteria counter. She didn't know why but she felt like she wanted to eat Pizza.

''Pizza.'' (Y/N) glanced away from Marco, hoping that he didn't see her idolizing the pizza drawing on the board.

''Pineapples as a topping?'' She scrunched her nose up at Marco's question. Her face that was once expressionless morphed into disbelief. ''Pineapples? Really, Marco?'' She narrowed her eyes which only made Marco laugh.

''I was just joking with you! Besides, i know that you're the type of person who doesn't want pineapples on their pizza.'' He winked which caused (Y/N) to slightly blush.

''Hey, you two lovebirds! I know that you're itching to kiss on the cafeteria right now but i'm starving, alright?'' Star teased the two and nudged them by using both of her elbows. ''W-We're nothing like that!'' Marco and (Y/N) exclaimed with a heavy blush tinted on their cheeks.

Their sudden exclamation made everyone turn their heads around at the trio with their faces full of curiosity. After a while, they returned back to eating and minded their own business.

''I'm just going to reserve a table for us.'' (Y/N), with a slight headache, walked towards an empty table and sat down on one of the available seats. She waited for the duo to come back with a food tray while looking outside the cafeteria's large window.

After a while, Marco and Star finally came back while holding a food tray. ''Here's your pizza, m'lady!'' Marco sets the plate of three slices of pizza in front of her. (Y/N) stared at the pizza for a short moment, not realizing that she's about to drool.

''I wanted to try steak out so i got it! Also, i got some fried rice!'' Star takes a seat beside (Y/N) and holds her fork, knife and spoon. ''Eating meat is fine too but you shouldn't eat it all the time. You gotta eat something nutritious every once in a while, Star! Like, vegetables!''

''Eh... I want to but i can't help but to feel like i'm eating raw grass like a llama! Besides, i eat healthy, Marco! Don't worry 'bout it!'' Star makes a thumbs up.

''Really? The last time i saw you eat something healthy was like 3 months ago.'' Marco eyes Star suspiciously while munching on his vegetable meal.

''Hey, that's not true! I eat healthy foods every day!''

''If you eat healthy foods every day, then tell me why you're eating a steak right now. Steak isn't necessarily healthy.''

''It's still lunch time, Marco! I'm going to eat the most vegetables you'll ever see in your entire life this dinner!'' Star points her fork at Marco in a challenging manner.

''Woah woah woah, calm down. Put that fork down; you could hurt someone.'' Marco raises both of his hands in a defensive manner while Star pouts and puts her fork down.

''Safe kid...'' Star mumbles while she pricks the steak with the fork.

''And don't play with your food.'' Star sighs in defeat and starts to eat the food that she got.

(Y/N), on the other hand, just watched and listened to the duo argue while munching on the pizzas that Marco bought for her. She found the argument amusing, to be exact since she never heard someone argue about eating healthy that much before.

Before (Y/N) could begin to speak, someone already did it before her.

''Hey, Marco! Hey, Star! Hey, (Y/N)!'' Jackie smiles at the three while holding a food tray. Marco begins to blush uncontrollably and fidgeting around in his seat while Star just waved with her fork in her hand. (Y/N) noticed that Marco was acting all fidgety and felt a pang of pain shooting through her heart.

''Mind if i seat with you guys? All the tables are full.''

''Not at all! You can sit beside Marco!'' Star beams while Jackie nods with a smile.

''Oh, thanks. I was worried that i might have to stand up while eating.'' Jackie then takes a seat beside Marco. He felt the warm sensation from her shoulder touch his which made his blush even more.

''Don't worry! You can sit with us anytime!''

''Marco, i see that you're on a healthy diet today.'' Jackie chuckles while Marco starts to stutter and fumble with his words to which (Y/N) observed with jealousy and pain.

''W-W-Well, i..i thought that i... that...i could eat.. s-something like... this t-t-today!''

''Why are you acting so flustered around me? You don't have to be, you know?'' She chuckles once more while Marco relaxed for a short while, staring at Jackie as she chuckled. ''Yeah...'' Marco mumbled with his face as red as the color of his hoodie.

(Y/N), not being able to stand to watch the sight that's happening in front of her, she stands up from her seat with her eyes as cold as steel and her voice as monotonous as a robot.

''I'm full. Thanks for the food.'' And with that, (Y/N) walks away. Star stared at the plate that (Y/N) left and she only had one pizza left. With a whistle, Star sneaks her hand to (Y/N)'s plate and steals the pizza.

Marco didn't pay attention to Star taking the pizza though. He simply stared as he watched (Y/N)'s retreating form.

''Was it really okay if i sat with you guys? She left after i entered in...'' Jackie asked worriedly.

''O-Oh... It's fine! Something... happened to her so that's why she's like that. We'll try to talk to her after classes.'' Star reassured Jackie with a smile to which she returned. ''Marco, aren't you going to eat?'' Jackie turned to look at Marco's plate.

He was soon snapped back to reality and nodded viciously and continued eating. The trio began to eat in silence once more as Marco's mind eventually wandered to (Y/N).
