12: The Party That Fixes Them
You finally reached your house. You rushed into your room, not even hearing your butlers or your maids greeting you. ''Hey, sis! What's up?!'' Jeremy called but you just ignored him and closed your bedroom door. You burst into tears and buried your face in your pillow. You actually thought that he would like you.
Suddenly, there was a knock on your door. You quickly grabbed your water bottle that was in your bag and poured some on your face to make it look like you weren't crying at all. ''Come in.'' Then your Mother walked in.
''Honey? Why is your face drenched in water?'' Your Mom wiped your face with the yellow handkerchief that your Mom was holding. ''I wanted to cool off for a while because me and my friends were playing before i went home.'' Your Mother's eyebrows rose curiously for a moment but she just sighed and seemed to have bought your lie.
''Never mind that for a while, honey. You know how your brother's 9th birthday is coming up, right?'' Wow. How could you forget? He basically bragged about it throughout the entire week. How there was this huge party, everyone he could stand were allowed to come and how many presents he would get. It was an incredibly fancy event for a nine year old. It was unbelievable.
Your birthday doesn't even have to be fancy. Well, you told your Mom that it doesn't have to be.
''Well,'' Your Mother continued. ''We've also invited some of your classmates. There was that girl you always talk about. Star Butterfly, was it? Yes, it was Star Butterfly.'' She said as she continued the list, things just kept getting worse. ''Then that Marco Diaz boy since you also get along with him. Oh, we've also invited Jackie Lynn Thomas and then there's the richest girl in the school named Brittney Wong.''
'Oh joy...' You thought sarcastically. My crush who I am currently trying to avoid, the girl he went out with and the other girl who i am pretty sure that wants me dead. This is going to be soo fun. Well, at least Star is going to be there.
''That's really great, Mom. I'm looking forward to Jeremy's birthday.'' You told your Mother with the most convincing fake smile you've made. That was also the biggest lie you had ever told anyone in your life.

You bumped into Star at school while feeling a little bit glum. ''Oh! Hi, (Y/N)!!'' She said cheerfully. ''I'm so glad that i'm going to your brother's party!! It's gonna be so much fun!! I can get my wand to make your brother's party fun and- Hey, are you alright?'' She said, turning her smile into a concerned look.
You gave her a small smile. ''Yeah, totally...''
Star began sighing. ''Okay. One, you're a really bad liar. Two, is this about Marco?'' She asked with her hands on her hips. Her eyebrows rose and her sapphire blue eyes were staring at me curiously.
You froze for a moment. ''No, why would it be?''
''Um. Because i know that you like him and it was really obvious from the way you looked yesterday when Jackie asked Marco to hang out with her.'' She replied, with her hands now crossing.
You frowned at the memory. ''That obvious?'' You asked.
''Duh, (Y/N). I may seem like i'm a stupid person but i can easily see if a person likes someone else.'' Star smiled softly. ''But enough about Marco. To get this thing off of your mind and chest, let's plan what we're going to wear for the party!'' She exclaimed excitedly.
''Sure, i guess.'' You mumbled with a small frown on your lips.
''Aw, come on (Y/N)! Lift that chin up 'cause we're gonna have a blast!'' She replied, dragging you to class.

'There...' You thought. You had finally finished getting ready. You let Star do your hair using her wand. You were scared about the wand doing the hairdo but it was actually safe. Your hair tickled a bit when Star cast spell on your hair. You wore a (F/C) dress that only went up to your knees.
Star wore a plaited magenta skirt with suspenders and light purple hearts around the purple bottom edge, and a light pink dress shirt with poofy sleeves and green striped leggings. She has the same shoes as her first outfit, but colored differently and with wings. She just let her hair down. ''We are officially ready! Let's go, (Y/N)!'' She exclaimed.
The two of you headed outside as the rest of the guests arrived. Marco was among them. Crap.
You tried to ignore the fact that he was already over here by going over to see how your brother was doing.
You found him counting his presents by the pool. ''Thirty One? But i had Thirty Nine last year!!!'' He exclaimed angrily.
''Don't worry, sweetie. We'll get you more.'' Your Mom told him patiently as a sweat dropped from her forehead.
''You better!'' He yelled before storming out.
''Hello (Y/N).'' A voice spoke up behind you. You turned around to find Brittney Wong who was smiling innocently.
'Something's up.' You thought as your eyes lidded for a bit and your cautious eyes observing the purple dressed girl in front of you.
''Hi Brittney.'' You said softly.
''Great party! Never thought that you're Mrs. Birnbaum's daughter!'' She grinned.
''Um. Thank you, i guess?'' You replied but it sounded more like a question.
''No problem! Here, i think that you could use a drink.'' She said as she poured a cup of orange juice on your head.
Your hands clenched into fists. ''You're wasting an orange juice. Think about the plant who sacrificed itself to satisfy people's thirst.'' Because you're drenched, your (H/C) bangs covered your (E/C) eyes. You slowly turned behind you to see Star looking at you concerned with Marco standing still behind her.
''I see that you're still the same bratty head cheerleader. You've never changed at all. What? Was your brain too rusty to even think about changing yourself for the better? Oh yeah. Maybe you're rotten as a spoiled food because both of your brain and personality are spoiled. That makes sense, don't you think?'' Your smirked inwardly as Brittney's eyes narrowed for a moment.
''Oh my! I think that your head is becoming too hot for me to handle! Here, why don't you need to cool off for a moment?'' You wondered what she meant by that sentence. All of the sudden, she shoved you to the pool that was beside you. You began to feel scared.
You can't swim.
Good thing that your pool wasn't even deep. Your parents wanted it so that Jeremy can just stand up and learn to swim by himself. Your head popped out of the water and saw Brittney smirking down at you. She then whipped her hair around as she walked away with both of her hands on her hips. You rolled your (E/C) eyes as you saw her swaying her hips around as she walked away. You cursed on your breath and got yourself back on the surface.
Star wanted to speak but before she got the chance, you walked to your room with your (F/C) dress and (H/C) hair drenched in orange juice and water.
''Wow, you look stupid, My sister. What happened?'' Jeremy smirked as i passed him by. ''Shut the hell up or i won't tell Mom to buy you more presents.'' You said, anger seething in every word. You didn't even dare to turn around and face your own brother. You were too angry to do that. You headed straight to your room and went to your own bathroom where you took a small shower.
After the shower, you wore an/a (Favorite Animal) onesie. It smelled like lemon which was your favorite/or not scent. You sighed and heard a knock on your door. You opened it to see Marco looking at you with a worried face. ''Hey, you okay?''
You smiled sarcastically. ''No, no, no. Let's just say that i had a late night swim. But hey, you got to witness the whole thing, didn't you?'' You told him with anger seeping through every word you said.
''Sorry about that. It was wrong of Brittney to do that. Jackie already came to your Mother and told her everything that happened. Brittney got kicked out after that so don't worry. Although, she was screaming out as she got led away by your butlers.'' He said awkwardly.
''Seems like you didn't mind at all though.'' You replied.
He flinched slightly. ''Here, use this.'' He said, handing you a towel.
Your eyes widened slightly. ''T-Thank you, i guess.'' You replied, stuttering slightly as you were surprised by his actions. ''Aren't you supposed with Jackie though?'' You asked.
''Well, i don't know. She's with Justin and his friends right now and she's having a blast with them on the dance floor. They were also playing some games that i have no idea about. I don't want to ruin their fun so i decided to check on you.'' He explained casually. ''Because i care about you a lot, (Y/N).'' He added, staring at you.
You blushed and managed to put up a weak smile.
''Can i make it up to you somehow?'' He asked hopefully.
You decided to tease him. ''We'll just have to see.''
''Will this do?'' He asked again.
You were confused for a moment. ''Will wh-'' You began but you were cut off by a pair of lips on your forehead.
Your eyes widened and closed, your lips forming into a very big smile. You placed your hands on your chest and tried to stop the butterflies that were fluttering around your stomach. When he pulled away, you were blushing immensely as well as Marco. ''I think that'll do.'' You told him, smiling brightly and blushing. A lot.
He grinned back. ''Happy to hear it.'' He replied.
He got up and began to leave your room, stopping halfway through the door. ''See you later, (Y/N).'' He said before exiting the room.
Marco didn't even get to see Jeremy smirking and blushing while holding a camera. ''I think that i'll use this as a blackmail or bribe.'' Jeremy said while chuckling devilishly.
