Chapter 9

Aphmau was beside Laurance, still following him to the dinning room. Which Aphmau expected to be big by the size of the house. It was a big house, especially for what seemed like a small town.

Laurance stopped, making Aphmau go slightly in front of him.

"This feels familiar," he mumbled, looking down at the ground. "Like I've done this all before, escorting you. It's almost like a faint memory."

Aphmau barely heard him but was able to make out what he was saying. And after thinking about it actually felt familiar to her as well. Or maybe it was just that she didn't want him to feel like some weird person who think they've met someone before but actually haven't.

Laurance shook his head. "Let's keep going."

Aphmau nodded as Laurance started walking once again.

Soon the smell of freshly baked bread filled around Aphmau and Laurance. Making Aphmau's stomach growl. She ignored it though since she was on her way to the dinning room. Aphmau actually thought that Laurance had been getting lost, since it seemed to be taking them more than enough time to walk around the house, twice. But there did seem like there were many rooms. How did Lord Zane remember what all of them are?

"And here we are," Laurance said, breaking the silence between them. He opened a large wooden door, and there sat Lord Zane in front of them at the end of the long table.

"Ah, glad you could make it Aphmau," he rested his head on his hand. Leaning on it like Laurance had the wall. "Come. Sit. Laurance, if you would go get the boys."

Laurance nodded. Leaving Aphmau and Zane alone in the dinning room.

"I didn't know you had boys," Aphmau blurted out. Sitting on the chair next to Zane, even though she'd rather be on the other side she may as well get used to him.

"Yes. I have two. Levin and-" Zane didn't have time to finished his sentence before the doors opened again. "Oh look, here they are. Good morning boys."

Two boys, one around six and the other around eight. They were the two boys that had caught her eyes when she first entered the village. The blonde one's hair was much neater though.

"Levin, Malachi, meet Aphmau," Zane gestures over to Aphmau.

She awkwardly waved at the two boys as they sat down beside her and Zane. The blonde one next to her and the brown haired one next to Zane. Smiling they all ate. Except, something didn't quite feel right, for Aphmau or the boys. Something about Zane.

After eating the boys left. Leaving Aphmau and Zane alone in the dinning room once again. Aphmau stayed quiet, staring at her hands in her lap.

"You may leave if you would like," Zane announced.

Aphmau nodded. Happy that she could escape the awkwardness.

Stepping outside the dinning room she heard running, from the left of her. So, being the curious person she is she turned around. Only seeing the two boys she had met at breakfast. Levin and Malachi. Although since they didn't talk while they ate she didn't know who was who.

"M-Aphmau!" The blonde one yelled. Reaching her as he put his hands on his knees. "I forgot how much sleep I got last night. Gosh, that really tired me out for some odd reason." He mumbled making the brown haired one gently punch him in the shoulder.

He lightly laughed. "Levin, let me do the talking. She may not understand you since you can't say your d's and b's right. Oh, and don't forget about the j's."

"You're just trying to make this hard for me aren't you?" The blonde, Levin, asked. Muttering to his older brother.

"So," Malachi said. Ignoring his younger brother. "Aphmau, I thought we should just let you know. Our," Malachi stopped for a moment. Almost like he was disgusted at something. "Dad isn't normally like that."

"Yeah, usually he's hust a dig meanie," Levin said, sounding really childish.

Malachi softly laughed. Almost holding it in. "Just thought we would let you know. Bye Miss Aphmau!"

"Bye," Aphmau said, waving at them as they walked away. She was slightly confused as to what happened.

She shook her head, heading back towards her room. Nothing exciting would probably happen.
